Ian, I've been having more and more "ah ha...that's it!" moments on my fretboard(s)! I've been analyzing a number of your videos to try to "demystify " the guitar and it's working! I am utilizing some of the things you shed light on combined with some things I already know so I can get away from years of mindless earball/eyeballing and actually connect the dots better! Eureka, I've struck gold! Thanks again Ian!🤓
Outdoor gig....weather really cold or rain? Play double stops in DOUBLE time (generates heat, not on stage so long). Weather really hot? Play double stops in half-time....Pouring rain? All hammer-ons....other hand holds the umbrella.... ... Crossbow
Hey Ian, totally fun doing this - but so is everything on guitar. I learn something every time I watch one of your lessons (albeit you sometimes go over my head). The beauty is I can always go back and watch it again and again until I get it - You are the man - Thanks!
You have had many epic lessons over the years, but this is simple fun. Elegant simplicity, nothing to sit and study hard. Immediately apply, just "add water"...Awesome...
Thank you, Ian. Just found your channel today and I've been watching several videos from the past couple of years. Looking forward to watching more of your lessons.
Love it!! I often find myself struggling to learn more scales and 3NPT patterns in an effort to find more ways to rip. Stitch has a way of keeping me grounded by reminding me that less is often so much more! Keep it simple! The pentatonic is all you need! It’s the doorway to world of rock and roll!
21,971 people to date you have inspired .... plus me . how much joy do you think us 21,972 get from you Mr Stitch Method ? I'll tell you ..its immeasurable ....love this channel . always when i think why do i bother i cant play like my head can and the Lord puts you in my view and you restore hope . Bless the Lord and definitely bless you Mr Stitch Method . luv ya stuff.
You can know everything about the guitar, and yet jamming distorted box 1 a minor pentatonics still gets the master to smile . Another lesson where you explained what I needed perfect
I'm new to your Channel ...Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the guitar and music... there are quite a few good guitar instructors on RUclips... you are by far the very best .. your method of combining Theory and different methods to play is by far the easiest to understand and the best I've ever seen... you make your teaching look easy to do( which I'm sure it's not because everyone else would be as good as you are at it...it is probably easy for you because I can see you're a naturally gifted musician and teacher) and learning what you teach easy to comprehend
Stitch is in my top 5 as far as RUclips guitar instructors go, especially for the styles I play most. Teaching is a special skill, and he definitely has it.
Alright!! This is why most people picked up the electric guitar. Cranking up the gain and the volume adds to the chunky double stop sound. Great stuff man! Finding a greasy, wailing southern backing track is a must for true inspired playing.
Love your lessons. So glad I found you this summer. Watched a ton of your videos, several numerous times. Including this one. Giving some meaning to my practice while I wait to practice songs to play with other peeps.
Ian, I've progressed so much since you've started making videos! Can't wait to check out your extra content on this and finally de-mystify rock playing for me!
Hey just wanted to say thanks again for your never lost video ,between that and other videos like this i have learned the fretboard better and am somewhat of a decent player now . Ps i have a lot more to learn
I never thought of splitting the fretboard to get better call and response dynamics, but after hearing you mention it, I hear it a lot more often than I realized. I've usually gone major for the response, as I know Clapton and Page do that quite a bit, but that really opened some doors for me
I should have sussed this years ago, but I didn't. Thank you Mr Stitch for kindly showing us all. A really fun lesson with a lot of take aways. Thanks a lot Sir much appreciated.
Nice man! I knew getting into this video I'd already know most of it, but I haven't been using those power chords. I can't wait to try it out this weekend!! Love your channel by the way!
Someone on the internet said stop playing scales to play lead guitar. Every time I see that ad I skip it . I have been playing guitar since I was 12 . So I know the scales and using them for lead is important . Fifty years of guitar and still learning . I have seen a lot of teaching and I like Your approach the most .
Thanks so much for your videos! They’re easy to understand and really help unlock some of the mental doors to guitar playing that impede me. I can’t afford to be a monetary supporter right now, but I hope to be in the future.
Haha I swear man, we had the best public access around. Battle Creek MI. Some crazy native American dude would come on at 3am, that's when you knew it was time for bed.
Absolutely fabbydoo, thank you. So many other tutors overcomplicate this stuff for beginners (to lead guitar) like me. This I can have fun with straight away. Smaashin! :)
Another cool thing to do with double-stops is bend them. Van Halen's House of Pain has some cool examples of this right in the beginning of the song, and also starting around 2:20 and 2:44 is especially cool.
@@StichMethodGuitar Lol First video cat and just loved it !! Laid back but so enriching. Really appreciate it. Getting back into my music after a career ending injury. Fell 25ft off utility pole onto a boulder in ice storm. Thank God for music!!
Went from Sean Daniel to there, checking out King Gizz and the Liz Wiz and just found youw/Sean commenting. Don't think this happened by accident. Best sounding lead in that pentatonic scale with that house of blues extension. Love it. Subscribe. Thank you !!
this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, fantastic video, fantastic fun playing! I've learned a lot from your channel, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, playing and the obvious fun you're having with it! I think I hear some Govt' Mule in there, besides Led Zep. A bit of Hendrix and SRV, exactly where I want to eventually end up. No illusions to ever get to their level, but to the 'having fun and let it rip' level should be possible - I hope.
Thanks for the tips on the Stich Method Road Show. I love how all your lessons are food references. Should have included an A1 Steak Sauce tip with your three ingredients.
I've learned more about music theory from you. Then I have from my teacher in the past that was going to college for music. This video is great video for beginners. You have to start some where. Let there songs to fill the air. (~};=) GDF NFA Mahalo brotha

Hoping you made it to Gardner Caves near the Canadian border. Near Usk, head West over Flowery Trails Road. Near the top is 49 degree north ski resort. There is a huge parking area. It is located in the National Forest and allows overnight camping. Your 10 miles from a Safeway store which is equivalent to a Publix. It's gorgeous up top with no lite pollution.
