      I wonder if a typical mechanic shop would do this job - I just got a Reman 4l360e and my 2-3 seems kind of iffy - not sure if it is slipping. One time I went up to over 6000 rpm but I was WOT on the entry ramp to the interstate. hahaha. I find it mind-blowing that a $3000 plusK Reman transmission does NOT include a Servo upgrade! holy smokes... they just change out that elastic band thing? crummy. "Arguably one of the most inexpensive, yet most rewarding upgrades to your 700R4 or 4L60E (4L65E, 4L70E) transmission is the corvette servo. Right away you will notice faster and firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.... Too much servo travel can cause a delay in shifting, a longer 1-2 and 3-4 shift, as well as a slide-and-bump-into-gear type shift. By 100,000 or more miles, the band is wearing out and then you are at the point where the servo almost cannot travel far enough. Once it is beyond the travel of the servo, it will burn up the transmission. The longer pin is designed to take up that slack and prevent the servo travel... If you are installing, or already have installed, a shift kit, you will likely not need a longer servo pin. Most shift kits are designed to address the servo travel issue already." Dang - don't you think a new Reman will include a new "shift kit" so this isn't necessary? thanks

      @@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 yes a typical mechanic shop can do this job. There is no reason why a corvette servo can’t be paired with a shift kit.

    Exactly what I was looking for regarding the servo change while in the car. Other people's videos with the transmission out of the car are useless as most all of us doing this with the transmissions in the car.

    My poor 07 1/2 ton 4x4 340,000 miles , it spent three years in michigan , moved back to florida , that servo cover was so set up , i started pulling the whole transmission , nothing left but tranny bolts and torque converter , sprayed it with lubricant two nights in a row , it finally decided to come loose after i beat it hard with the big ballpeen and turned with channel locks , cover is buggered up now , it would work , but im getting a total rebuild now , it done pissed me off . Transfer case too .😂

    Does my servo cover need to be able to move in alittle before attempting to remove snap ring or can I try to pry it out? Cover won't move in at all need help I can't get it to move.

    • @whiplashtv2022
      @whiplashtv2022  2 года назад

      No, it doesn’t have to be able to move in to remove the snap ring but it does add a little room. Sometimes the cover can feel a little stuck at first, but if you press hard enough on the center of it then it should press in. The spring behind the servo is what you are pressing on.

Or because the codes?. im about finished rebuilding my kids 4L60E and we put a shift kit and new wires and well everything in a shift kit and this is my first time taking apart a auto 4 speed tranny and in all it actually was not that hard 😅 so lets see if it works when we go to try it 😂 also we put the corvette servo in his also .just hoping for a longer lasting beefed up 4l60e

      If your transmission is currently hitting neutral in 3rd and 4th gear then you probably have damage that this won’t fixed, but you could give this Corvette servo and transmission maintenance a try. No promises though that it will fix it. A good tune and the Corvette servo will extend the life of the 4l60.
