  • Hello! This video is the first of a series of videos where I talk about my healing journey. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in 2015 and the first two years, I suffered a lot of pain and disability. But now I am in a much better place and I owe this to prayers, a healing diet, lifestyle changes and medications.

I started showing symptoms three months after having my the last daughter when I was 31 years old. It felt like it literally happened overnight! I remember being up cleaning and looking down because my ankles felt very tight and when I did to my surprise both of my feet were about three size their Norm. This would begin the start of many missed diagnosis has including a nurse and doctor stand and tell me I had two sprained both of my ankles of the very same time. RA is a very very difficult and I hope no one ever feels when talking to others that there aren't possible reasons that they are handling their treatment the same way. I choose not to lose meditation although those whom do, I love it for you.

Hi there, I am 27 years old and I have RA from 4 years 2016 it started .
I wanted to share my tips which I do daily and I donot take any medications. Doctor gave me HCQ and methotrexate. But these have so much side effects on me that I cant take it
Recently I have taken panchakarma treatment and my pain has completely gone . I do have some swelling in both of my knees
For that I take supplements omega 3 and D3 and glucosamine
Also I do regular self massage with sesame oil and after massage I sit for 15 mins in front of heater exposing my inflammed joints .. I feel greatly relieved

My first diagnosis was tendinitis. I went back to the doctor after 2 months when my finger never healed, was exactly the same as before (I haven’t been able to straighten it for a long time), started forming nodules. I had had shoulder, wrist, elbow, hip, knee and toe pain. Luckily I went to the doctor this past time with a finger/wrist flare up. It was the first thing she thought of when I told her everything that was going on. I will hopefully start on something soon after we see the progression, but for now, steroids to calm the inflammation since I am having a flare up until all my tests come back.

I see this time and time again. RA is a rare affliction so doctors don't really get it. How dare you complain about a few sore joints, everybody suffers from Osteoarthritis.
They don't realize the pain can be excruciating, and disfiguring in a matter of weeks. It wasn't until my Big toe decided to take a left turn that I had proof that I could say. LOOK! there is something serious going on here.
Unfortunately you have to fight to get a referral to a rheumatologist. Once you do see an RA doctor they usually say... "Why didn't you come see me earlier."
RA is a disease that if left untreated can be crippling.
You will have to jump through all the hoops to get a referral though. x-rays, blood tests, Being told by your doctor that its probably just a strained joint, Myocarditis, or you are outright faking it.
      Good luck to everybody.

Hello Rupali, Methotrexate in low doses which is what is used for RA does not cause too many side effects. Of course each person is different however if you can tolerate it, it is good to take it since it will slow the progression of the disease. For RA, I believe in having a combination approach of diet, medicine and lifestyle changes. The AIP diet that I recommend will help to reduce the side effects of methotrexate. And yes I still take it however I have been able to reduce the dose slightly now. Good luck to you!

I’m 37 year old mom of an 8 and 9 year old. Currently just diagnosed with Undifferenciated Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, which basically means my labs were inconclusive but I have tons of symptoms and the dr doesn’t know. I had a positive ANA and RF but they were kinda weak positives (ANA titer was 1:80, I don’t remember RF number, but it wasn’t super high). My mom has scleroderma and dad has MS, so I’m pretty likely to have autoimmune issues. Ive had Raynaud’s syndrome since my mid-20’s but it has gotten much worse this last year. I’ve been feeling like I was getting sick of about 6 months now, started with fatigue and mild back aches, about 9 months ago, then 6 months ago the night sweats started, swollen lymph nodes, and it started as just muscle aches and very mild joint pain. Within the last 3 months or so my hands have not only had the numbness from the Raynaud’s, but I also start having more tingling and burning pain at times other than when my fingers are coming back to life after being numb, and my hand have been going numb at night. Also my neck/upper back have been killing me for no obvious reason. My right wrist is currently bothering me and for years on and off I’ve had both wrist and knee pain which i attributed to work (I’m a hairstylist) and running. But mainly the neck and trapezius pain, fatigue, and night sweats are the most bothersome issues. And that doesn’t scream RA.. but as I listen to more stories, it’s sounding like that could be a cause of at least some of the issue I’ve been having. Also, I’ve lost about 15-20 lbs in the last 6-9 months, which wasn’t completely unintentional since I’ve been loosely trying to lose some weight for a while now, but it came off out of nowhere after making zero changes to my diet and exercise. I guess I’m just writing to thank you for your video and to vent my current issues lol

    • @Cook2Nourish

Your RA factor and ESR seem to be in range however the high CRP suggests some inflammation. Did you check your anti CCP? Sometimes in the beginning stages RA factor is low. But anti CCP is a good marker to check for RA.
