I really want to witness a Total Lunar Eclipse one day! The whole moon turning blood red/dark orange like in the freaking Third Impact looks so unreal to me
I'm watching this video as I wake up in the afternoon, after having been up all night enjoying last night's partial ( but almost total) lunar eclipse of November 19th of 2021 😄
I learnt alot I am watching the lunar eclipse right now it's a beautiful experience the time is 20:30 here in South Africa in Cape Town I thought there was something wrong so I decided to search more about the red moon
ive seen a total lunar eclipse. people might not think its a huge deal but they are very pretty and insteresting to look at directly. ill always keep the picture in my phone.
There's actually a 4th type of lunar eclipse called a "central eclipse." A central eclipse is a type of total eclipse where not only does the moon go completely behind Earth's umbra but it passes through the center of Earth's umbra. Since the Earth's umbra is still about three times the diameter of the moon by the time it reaches the moon, the moon can go completely behind the Earth's umbra and easily miss the center. For this reason, central lunar eclipses are extremely rare as the vast majority of total lunar eclipses are non-central.
Lol, long story short: Solar eclipse - the Moon blocks the Sun from Earth. Lunar eclipse - the Earth blocks the Sun from the Moon. (If you were ON the Moon, it would be like watching a solar eclipse with Earth replacing the Moons place like in a regular solar eclipse)
Amazing we are able to see such celestial occurrences like eclipses so regularly. No way that is just chance. I once heard there is a greater likelihood that a box of toothpicks dropped from a seven-story building will form a perfect road map of London than our planet, moon, and sun being in such order to allow for complex, intelligent life and beauty to flourish as it does.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely aligned with Earth between the other two, and only on the night of a full moon.
When I was playing at night with my friends I saw the moon it was large and the back of the moon is yellow when we go somewhere I go outside I look at the moon it was red I thought it was the mars crashing to earth
I woke up last night and I looked out the window and the moon was very bright and a little bit bigger. Not as spectacular as I had hoped but still very cool!
Lunar eclipses occur up to three times a year and can be seen with the naked eye. What new facts did you learn about the lunar eclipse?
