I updated from 5 pro to ultra. Main reason was speed, dual gps, improved sensor. And the design, as the design is exact same of old watches . It's not a copy of iphone. I think Samsung very smartly created the controversy, and now even iPhone circles are also talking about it. Otherwise, ultra comes in 3 colors, 3 types of bands. If u use other bands and silver/ white watch color, it looks nothing like iphone watch. Only thing they copy is middle button which is not even a copy. But u will notice, samsung ads showing iphone strap heavily. Very smart.

It is learning your daily patterns when it comes out of the box. This could take up to several days and of course during this time the watch will have increased battery drain. So this information doesn't tell us anything unless you have completed the usage patterns already. In that case this a sad but I think it did not complete. Please inform us about the battery life later on. :)

Absolutely. The Watch 5 Pro was the first to support GPX files, and now... this is supported on the Ultra. The Watch6 was... just bad, smaller battery, no Pro functions... and etc. And btw the Watch Ultra has the same 590 mAh battery size & 10W charging, but at least now with 3nm Exynos SOC I hope it will be more energy efficient... but also higher resolution and bigger screen, so it`s going to be though.
Come On, Garmin did not give you 10-12 days of full operation with the same services and features as Samsung or Apple. Garmin has a low power mode that gives you very few options.

It's not the design of the watch itself, they clearly look different. It is the design language, bands and features, including the way that the features interact with the software. E.g. - The Ocean band and Trail band look very similar to Apples Ocean and Trail bands and even have the SAME NAME - The Action Button... I mean "Quick Button" that performs "Actions" has an orange accent AND when you click the button, the whole screen goes orange with the name of the action that you have set, EXACTLY the same UI as the AWU. Coincidence? I think not. - The 85db siren. Same feature, same way of activating it (by holding the Action, I mean, Quick Button) and again an almost identical UI as the AWU when using the siren. - The new sensors on the back look almost identical to Apples. Apple has been making some of the most accurate sensors in watches for a number of years meanwhile Samsungs have been terribly inaccurate (Watch the Quantified Scientist for evidence) so it seems that Samsung basically reverse engineered Apples and slapped it on the back of their watch. - The orange accents. Nobody OWNS orange I know but the Apple Watch Ultra had orange well and truly built into the design. It is part of it's idenity. Not just the orange watch strap but also the orange action button, the orange ring around the digital crown and even the orange background that shows up when you click the action button. Apple doesn't own orange I know but the fact that Samsung just did the same, even down to the orange background when you click the action button is just.....c'mon.
The apple watch ultra wasn't really copied, the galaxy watch ultra is similar in design to the gear s3 watch that I had years ago. Plus most diving watches have orange watch bands for high visibility.
They didn't copy Crapple look back at the Gear Sport from 2017 they have improved on that design sure the band is pretty similar but the Gear Sport is where they took the design to the Ultra apart from the chunky bezel it had back then the shape is the same
Does the Galaxy Watch have always on microphones for voice commands? Like on AW you can raise your wrist and start talking without saying "Hey Siri" and it still works. Pretty handy and makes the whole process a lot quicker.

I think it's just the band my 5 pro is in a full case with the band integrated in and it's a bit bigger the the 7 ultra as well as a gshock watch. I traded in a 6 classic 1 baught from Samsung 2 months ago pd 190.00 got 400.00 off the 7 ultra but I choose white so people will mistake for a gshock.
$250!!! This was a no-brainer for me.. I've had a watch5 pro for a year and a half that I paid approximately $400 for. The deal Samsung gave me on the watch ultra is a $50 instant rebate off the 699 that brought it down to $599 then they gave me an enhanced trade-in for my watch 5 pro of $350. That's a $400 discount. My new watch ultra was $250 plus tax. Again, that's a no-brainer and a done deal. I did read that others were saying in the UK they were only offering 150 (pounds) which seems weird vs the $350 here in the US. AND.... the shape is a remake of Samsung's Frontier. If copying is an orange band and an orange button....🙄 Guys stop trying to measure your sticks.!! Samsung galaxy Watch Ultra isn't a copy of the Apple Watch Ultra, claiming such a thing is disingenuous. The Galaxy WU using a classic cushion watch design, so their watch is designed more like a classical watch while the Apple watch is more like a calculator or your wrists. Even the design philosophies themselves are different. I'm somebody that likes watches a lot and at one point I was obsessed with them, but because I didn't have money as I was in high-school I would bowse through Aliexpress and just look at watches for hours. I don't remember how many watches I saw with an orange button but there were a lot. I really don't understand why some people insist that "Samsung copied the orange button", orange doesn't belong to Apple and Apple didn't invent the orange watch button, not to mention the button on Samsung's watch is very different. Now for what did Samsung take inspiration? Obviously for one of their bands and even here they made it slightly different, what's common are the holes on the sides of the band(i'm not mentioning the color because that's stupid). Now a detachable watch band isn't a permanent design element, you can't claim that the entire watch is a copy because of the band, that would be stupid. All in all I say it's great that Samsung decided to make this watch. The more options there are the more competition it exists on the market the better it is for consumers.

I have the Garmin epix gen with amoled display and touch screen. I get 25 days with every tracker on. This guy is wacky.

I like the gray one. This is actually the one I got with the orange band, the silver one is good too, and the white is not my cup of tea.

Let me school you please. Titanium Grade 4 is a very expensive material. Steel is a cheap material, both due to their production process and availability.
So, next time you can't answer a question, research some knowledge as to why one cost more than the other. Also size which obviously in this case it's visibly clear.

No, btw I was also afraid of that, but it's conformable. The only unpleasant moment is when I work on a desk and then rest my hand, the bump is slightly big, but it's bearable.

Don't buy. Watch is overheating within 60 seconds if you connect to LTE and try to stream music and watch is standalone.
What? Damn! Mine is LTE but I don't use mobile esim, that's not great..
@VelianSpeaksTech That is a common issue with Samsung watches. If you are using LTE. I replaced 3 of classic 6. Samsung claimed there are no issues. I will start posting videos about the biggest issues Samsung watches have.

I think it's just the band my 5 pro is in a full case with the band integrated in and it's a bit bigger the the 7 ultra as well as a gshock watch. I traded in a 6 classic 1 baught from Samsung 2 months ago pd 190.00 got 400.00 off the 7 ultra but I choose white so people will mistake for a gshock.
I used my watch 5 pro with Spigen rubber case. it looks really cool.

This was a no-brainer for me.. I've had a watch5 pro for a year and a half that I paid approximately $400 for. The deal Samsung gave me on the watch ultra is a $50 instant rebate off the 699 that brought it down to $599 then they gave me an enhanced trade-in for my watch 5 pro of $350. That's a $400 discount. My new watch ultra was $250 plus tax. Again, that's a no-brainer and a done deal. I did read that others were saying in the UK they were only offering 150 (pounds) which seems weird vs the $350 here in the US.
AND.... the shape is a remake of Samsung's Frontier. If copying is an orange band and an orange button....🙄 Guys stop trying to measure your sticks.!! And as far as the name goes I will be getting a Samsung Galaxy watch ULTRA to go with my Samsung Galaxy s21 ULTRA versus an iPhone PRO Max and an Apple watch ULTRA. 🤔

What could have been better is bigger battery vs 590 mAh (same as watch 5 pro) as with a bigger display and 3000 nits and higher resolution well...
Although new 3nm Exynos is for sure way more effective but then also charging... only 10W, same as watch 5 pro...

Do some research before you spew incoherent information. Samsung watch Ultra comes from the Gear Sport, their own line.
The Color "orange" is not proprietary to Apple. If so, Apple copied Hermes H08 watch.......and many others before them, including Home Depot, except Home Depot has been around since 1971 and Apple wasn't.

What is important right now:
1. Can the Galaxy Watch Ultra deliver more usage on a single battery charge as both Ultra and Pro 5 use the same 590 mAh sized battery, but the Ultra has a higher resolution screen and higher brightness?
2. Is the new Exynos W1000 3nm really more power efficient than the Exynos W920 that is 5nm and thus give more battery life vs 5Pro with the same battery size and the higher resolution (480x480) and higher brightness?
3. Is the new dual-band GPS more precise than the one in 5 Pro?

Samsung galaxy Watch Ultra isn't a copy of the Apple Watch Ultra, claiming such a thing is disingenuous.
The Galaxy WU using a classic cushion watch design, so their watch is designed more like a classical watch while the Apple watch is more like a calculator or your wrists. Even the design philosophies themselves are different.
I'm somebody that likes watches a lot and at one point I was obsessed with them, but because I didn't have money as I was in high-school I would bowse through Aliexpress and just look at watches for hours. I don't remember how many watches I saw with an orange button but there were a lot. I really don't understand why some people insist that "Samsung copied the orange button", orange doesn't belong to Apple and Apple didn't invent the orange watch button, not to mention the button on Samsung's watch is very different.
Now for what did Samsung take inspiration? Obviously for one of their bands and even here they made it slightly different, what's common are the holes on the sides of the band(i'm not mentioning the color because that's stupid). Now a detachable watch band isn't a permanent design element, you can't claim that the entire watch is a copy because of the band, that would be stupid.
All in all I say it's great that Samsung decided to make this watch. The more options there are the more competition it exists on the market the better it is for consumers.
