    Wow, this Galaxy Watch Ultra review is seriously impressive! You put in the work with 76 workouts, 22 nights of sleep, and 20 bike rides - that's dedication! Comparing it to an ECG chest strap and a zMax EEG headband really shows us how accurate it is for heart rate, sleep, and GPS.
    Your detailed breakdown is super helpful for the community, especially highlighting how it rocks at outdoor cycling but struggles with intense indoor cycling and weightlifting. Thanks for this awesome review, it's exactly what we need to decide if the Galaxy Watch Ultra is right for us!

    This week I had to go to the medical examination for my driving license D and I immediately had the Samsung watch 7 Ultra tested. Heart rate had an deviation of 5. Blood pressure read 141-95 while the doctor's blood pressure monitor showed 123-85. Blood oxygen showed 91% on the watch while the doctor measured 97%. The watch measured steps of 1 meter while my steps are 70 cm. According to the watch my fat content was 31%, while my fat content is 22%. My sleep measurements do not correspond with my sleep apnea box that monitors my sleep, and the Sleep cycle app also provides different data than the watch (while the watch and the app are connected. In short, just bad, just like any Samsung watch.. Also after the battery update my battery went from 2 days and 5 hours to 3 days and 10 hours but now two/three weeks later the battery dropped again under the 2 days.. WTF Samsung lol..

    • @idontwantacallsign
      @idontwantacallsign 14 дней назад +3

      The watch will never be able to measure your step length. When you run with the watch you use gps to track distance. Mine are fine regarding HR, but i have seen blood pressure which is wrong. But remember you have to use the exact same setting to measure your blood pressure as when you tested the watch.

    I think you should try the W7 and Ultra with a different strap. I am very curious about the results. Because when I used a fabric strap instead of the original silicone strap, my cycling measurements started to be more consistent. I used the silicone strap today to try it out and since my wrist was constantly moving due to sweat, there were always skips in between.
    So I don't know why Samsung hasn't been able to solve this for years or if these new sensors need a software update. It would be great if you could test it again when the new software update comes out and also test it with a different cord and take a video.
    At least we can see if it gets fixed or not. Because as users, we can't see if anything has improved during the update process.
    Also, the new sensors seem to be a little more affected by sweat. I also tried the watch in the pool, and believe me, it was much more compatible with my heart rate when it was constantly wet. But in normal workouts, my arm was very sweaty and it sometimes felt like it was acting ridiculous.
    And..... I got SS's from your first video. While ULtra and W7 offer 0.97 accuracy in the graphs. In the current graph, W7 appears around 0.75.
    What is the reason for this decrease? Such small deviations are acceptable, but can we say that the reason for such deviation is either the watch is broken or the value cannot be read from the hand?
    Is it possible to reach other high accuracy watches right now, I don't know if we can test the top of the list again, but for new watches
    I think it would be healthier to conduct tests with different people.

    If Samsung would add native connectivity tot a external HRM it would be a huge difference. I use my apple watch for years now to detect my workouts. For my runs I always connect to an external HRM. To get the most accurate Hr. But for hiking and badminton I just use the internal HRM. And like I learnt here I know the results are pretty spot on. For cycling I have a karoo on my bike, connected with my chest HRM. The battery life is maybe a downside. But I even ran a marathon with an 2 years old watch 3. (and not a fast one. Almost 5 hours. Still had 20% left). I charge my watch wen i'm in front of the TV. So to me there's no problem. I also have a galaxy watch 5. And I used that for many months. But there was a clear trend. My Hr reading were always lower then what my apple watch would give.

    I've been enjoying the Galaxy Watch Ultra. From my own tests against the Apple Watch Ultra 2
    - Heart rate for both devices match up quite well for exercises that are not super intense like walking and treadmill. Other exercises where heart rate can dip and rise quickly, I found Galaxy Watch Ultra lagging a bit detecting those (similar to findings here)
    - I've been quite happy with GPS performance using precision start. Total distance match up very closely with Apple Ultra 2
    - For sleep I've found the total time asleep time are quite similar between the 2 watches. The sleep stages are definitely off
    - With the same data on both watches, calorie burn numbers are quite a bit different. I don't know which one i should trust more.. 😅

    Galaxy watch is now a paperweight on my desk. So disappointed in Samsung. I don’t care for Apple design at all, but the accuracy means more than anything. I’ll look at it if they can’t even get this right, their Security is probably just as bad

    I have had it for a couple of days and am returning it now. On both nights I used it, I slept horrible, waking up a couple of times a night and just 7 hours of sleep. Samsung health showed me 87 for the first day and the second day of abysmal sleep it said 94 great sleep... Instantly asked to return the watch.

    I almost feel like you may want to test another unit. I'm not saying your info testing is not on. I have trsted your for awhile and i know how indept they are. As someone who has one i feel like my personal experience coming from a 5 Pro is way way better than your results. Especially when you consider you got better stats outside riding then inside riding. That may actually indicate something's not right with your unit. I just honestly feel like a lot of what you said is not my experience and I've watched DC Rainmaker I've watched chase the summit and I've watched desfit and none of them have had the experience you're talking about

    • @superiortoall22
      @superiortoall22 13 дней назад

      I mean he’s had about three other previous units and they are about on par with this trend. I can understand one watch generation but this is about four generations, that starts a trend. I’ve had Galaxy watches since 5 and it’s been about the same for me, always behind my Apple Watches.

    Thanks for your in depth review. You could also mentioned the firmware in your watch. Seems disappointing with the health metrics. Can’t understand as to how a better and upgraded sensor fails to improve upon the accuracies. I strongly doubt that Samsung algorithms are gross shit and needs proper code rectification to set right the results. Thank God they haven’t priced it at par with Apple Ultra. 😢

    Hello Rob, are you 100% sure about comparing all products to just one reference Polar H10? Is it accurate enough? Is your model working fine? How well would end a comparison of your reference band to other competitive products? Is it possible that Samsung uses other devices (with other results than Polar H10) as a reference?

  • @Fury_3D
    @Fury_3D 14 дней назад +3

    Did you by any chance use all the Samsung devices connected to one phone?
    Because if you used the ring and the watch together..... Samsung dropped an update that makes it so that they change what device they are taking the readings from depending on the battery, heart rate, and all sorts of stuff. Like it can take the heart rate from the ring but get the blood oxygen and pressure from the watch So the app might not be telling the full story

    You said that for sleep tracking the algorithm is more important than the sensor. I wonder how the results would change when you use a Watch with for example "Sleep as android" to calculate the stages. I use my Mi Band 6 like this but don't have w reference device.

    Body composition IS EXTREMELY ACCURATE!! It has been known to be 98% accurate with the dexa that real expensive one you have to pay for to get your body fat percentage.
    And one thing you guys don't realize about any of these electron BODY COMPOSITION THINGS!! They are not designed TO DO THE BODY COMPOSITION OF TRUE ATHLETES WITH LOTS OF MUSCLE!! They even say that in the disclosure. You might get inaccurate readings if you have lots of muscle or you're an athlete..
    So you don't pay attention to the body fat part too much.. For instance I know my body fat as an athlete using the pinch method three different sites is 10%. My watch constantly tells me I'm 18.. You think that's not accurate right?
    But if you look at the body composition closely it says my water IS VERY HIGH, AND MY MUSCLE MASS IS VERY HIGH!! That's why you have an inaccurate reading in body fat because your muscles somewhere around 80% water, and then obviously you could see that it shows you of tons of skeletal muscle!!
    So if you're an athlete you use the body composition don't pay attention to the fat too much. pay more attention to the body water and the muscle skeletal.. muscle mass. It does a really accurate job to show how much of your body is actually that.. if those are very high it means you have a high muscle mass..
    And then if you're an DO NOT USE ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICE THEY'RE NOT GOING TO BE ACCURATE!! Mostly use your chest strap, if you lift weights, and absolutely FOR YOUR BODY FAT DO THE PINCH METHOD!! There's a seven site method and a three-site method!! Use calipers it'll be the most accurate way if you're an athlete!!
    Piece out

    Il n'est pas difficile de fausser des résultats, si vous portez la montre comme Samsung le préconise (cela n'a pas l'air d'être votre cas). Cette montre est très précise ! Je fais de la randonnée et de la course à pied, j'ai comparé les résultats à une ceinture Polar H10 et j'obtiens au maximum deux battements de différence. Vous vantez tellement les montres Appel, pourriez-vous me dire pourquoi tant de propriétaires revendent la leur si elle sont si bonne ?

    it would be nice if also would be review of software health app, because also it is not only about measurements but also about interpretations of these measurements especially in time periods (trends and so on). For Excample Apple with all this precise censors, but default apple health is not that helpful. So I wonder if there is more or less scientific review of health apps (including some from 3d parties).

    You make awesome videos, but sometimes I don't care that much about a watch you reviewed and want to skip right to conclusion, but they just don't give me enough information. So then I have to watch some parts of the video to get some more sense about a watch. Please at the conclusion rate the watches, give a short rating of GPS and sensor data. You make really good videos but sometimes people are not in the mood to watch a 30 min video.

    Rob, I've had a lot of strange readings from my Polar H10 heart monitor over the last two months (after it working fine(?) for the last year). Have you had this issue? Note: I wear a Fitbit at the same time and it remains steady when the H10 gives odd readings. I've replaced the chestband twice but still am having problems.

    I could theoretically get use out of the BP monitor because the gym my work gives me a discount on has a BP machine, so I wouldnt need to actually own one myself. I could calibrate it occasionally at the gym and then use it at home. It's a shame the monitor on this watch is basically useless.
