My favorite sea animal is either a dolphin or a sea star. I also would want to explore all the parts of the ocean especially the trenches cause maybe there would be new species of marine life down there. I really want to be a marine biologist some day!! P.s love your channel keep up the good work😁👍
Hi Maria☺!!!!!!! I just wanted to say that I've really loved watching all your videos!!!! You've really helped me get a better understanding of marine biology as a career😊. Seeing how passionate you are is really inspiring, especially after watching your video of how you became a marine biologist!!!😄 I could really relate to it because what started my passion was finding nemo. I'm also in a landlocked country so it's great to see how you're still able to be a marine biologist despite that.😆 Next year is my final year of highschool and I can't wait to get started on working my way to becoming a marine biologist. Wish you the best on your new year!!!! Thankyou so much!!!! Great video!!!!😄
I live in Italy and I'm about to graduate from highschool this summer. I have always loved marine life and I would like be a marine biologist, but I find myself considering also what my parents are expecting from me and the possibility that marine biology would give me the job I desire. What should I do? Go for my dream or be more realistic?
ahh I just changed my major to marine science today, with plans to either double major in chemistry or have it as a minor. Can't wait to be able to study what I love.
Sea&me - Marine stuff with Maria I love love Sharks! I think Nurse Sharks are my favorite though. I’ve never been snorkeling or scuba diving but I would hope to someday 😊
Also do you have any advice about Masters applications? I’m so worried about the test and then my resume is definitely not the strongest because there’s not many opportunities for getting experience in undergrad, at least at my school.
I am simply obsessed with Beluga whales and all the other whales..But I also love starfishes, seaturtles. So, I really don't know yet what part of the ocean I'd like to explore :)
@@brennataylor5 Hi Brenna. It will depend on what masters you apply to. They all have different requirements when you apply. And I believe some are quite easy to get it. All I can say is write a really good motivation letter. Demonstrate how interested you are in the program and why it will be good for your future career. Talk a little about your personal experience with learning about what interests you. Good luck! =)
In the states, what schools do you recommend when obtaining a bachelors in marine science? I’ve currently applied to a few UC schools, CSU Long Beach, UH Manoa, etc, all for marine bio. I’m not exactly sure what I want to do as a career but definitely plan on attending graduate school and hope to participate in research. Possibly molecular? Anyway, great video. It was really helpful!
Hello. I am currently in the states getting my master's in marine biology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I wanted to reach out because this comment brings me back to my undergrad days here in the US. Honestly, undergrad is about the best fit for you personally to explore many different avenues. Grad school will allow you to specialize specifically in a particular area but undergrad is so great for exploring! So it’s nice to find a school where you have the opportunity to explore a lot of possibilities that way when you want to go further into research, you’ll know exactly what your skillset will be best used for and what you are most passionate about. Best of luck!!
Hi Jaden. I have never studied in the US, so unfortunately I´m not aware of the marine biology programs offered by the universities there. Don´t worry too much about the topic you will specialize in yet. Explore different options during your undergrad years. Then you will have more information to be able to choose what you want. ;) Good luck!
hello! I love your channel you are so inspiring for me ! I'm at my 3 bachelor year in biology. I'm from Italy , my dream is to become a marine biologist , spending my time for something i really love. I think that in my country there aren't a lot of opportunities in this field, so I planned to move next year for a master's degree. where do you recomend to apply? I studied medicine for 2 years then I quit because I realised it was no right for me ! So I'm really mmotivated . I hope you can give me some suggestion. :)
Can you help me I'm 12 and I'm stressing out of getting good grades can you tell me if I should be thinking about that right now or should i be thinking about marine biology basically science.
Hi. It is always good to give it your best at school. But don´t do it to a point where that is the only thing you think about. Give it your best, but also try to have fun. The worse thing that can happen is to loose the fun in learning. So keep your interest alive. You will have plenty of time in the future years to really focus in specific topics. Just enjoy! :)
I really want to be a marine biologist but, can you have a family while you are a marine biologist , because you travel a lot to research and those stuffs , I just wanted to know if it was possibly to raise a family ( sorry about my English )
Hi. I know plenty of marine biologists with families. The reality is that you might need to travel a lot and you might need to find a partner who is ok with that. But otherwise, it is totally possible.
How much chemistry and math do you use in your day to day job as a marine biologist? Do you need to be an expert in chemistry and upper level math? Currently in college
I think I could never choose my favourite sea creature as they all have their own special beauty :) And I also think that all parts of the ocean are too fascinating to decide for only one ^^
is mathematics required to study marine biology? like if I wanna do a major in marine biology do I need to take mathematics related subjects to pursue a career in marine biology? is it okay if I take pure science electives like Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) because honestly I can't do math nor do I like it. but I'm really interested in science :/ please revert back I need your advice
Hi! Depends on what you want to do related to dolphins. If you want to treat them for go into vet school. If you want to research them, then once you are in uni you can start navigating your education to specialize in dolphin research

Lol "I hope that everything gets better" and then 2020 comes
As the previous comment also stated, the "I hope everything gets better" didn't really go as expected... :)
