Team battle concept was originalize by SNK and it is very apparent in this gameplay as it is also close as you are playing KOF than MvC or Street Fighter. I mean cvs, all SNK characters were low tier bar Iori and Hao who were barely mid tier. The kof cast have a lot shit striped away from them so the SF characters are on the same wavelength. This fundamental problem is why SNK fans generally don't want another cvs.

As an SNK fan, Omega Rugal was a TRUE TERROR. Remember the Kaiser Wave in this game? Omega Rugal can fire 2 version, uncharged and charged. Both did the same damage but the uncharged version had ZERO FRAME STARTUP and travel FAST AS FUCK while the charged version is unblockable. Back in KOF 2002UM, all of the NEST final Boss message before the battle was Good Luck. Omega Rugal is "Do the best you can." = "YOU ARE FUCKED"
I used to play this game with a friend who had a DreamCast. We always faced Akuma at the end, and, with time, we got better and achieve higher scores. When we faced God Rugal for the first time, we are destroyed without mercy! This a true SNK Boss!

This game and this fight made me love KING, ROCK and VICE way more, with the moveset CapCom gave to them here you can put up a good epic fight against GR.
Took me 38 attempts to finally beat him. He's designed to crush all of your hopes and dreams. Easily one of the hardest boss fights I've ever done in my life. I know KOF 2002 UM Omega Rugal is tough, but that fight is only hard because you have 1 attempt to win.
@@SCORPAZ84 ACA NEOGEO KOF 94, ACA NEO GEO KOF 98, KOF 98 ultimate, and ACA NEO GEO KOF 2002. 94 is dated and clunky but has his best introduction and does bullshit damage. 98 is good but he is beatable so not to hard. 98 ultimate has input lag because ps2 games on ps4 have input lag(better off getting the steam version). 2002 is great and he is ruthless on that game. KOF 2002 is your best bet and 98 is also good. If you have a decent laptop or computer(it doesn't have to be for gaming) then I would download steam and buy KOF 98 ultimate(smooth game play no input lag you can also install the arranged soundtrack which is easy and I recommend it) and KOF 2002 unlimited match is the best and one of the best KOF games(Rugal is secret boss in arcade mode). Those games are older so any computer should run them unless you have a very very dated computer.

Wrong 94 Rugal in the 2nd round is a bitch. 2002 Omega Rugal is brutal because he sometimes does genocide cutter combos and has the fastest energy attack that I have ever seen in a fighting game. He did a 75% damage combo with his genocide cutter move into his orochi power move. It doesn't help that he has the fastest slide kicks out of all the Rugals.
Igniz in KoF 2k1 is SONIC AND ALL STARS RACING TRANSFORMED TRAFFIC ATTACK RACES IN S CLASS level hard because that bastard can rip you to shreds with his projectiles and infinite combos. He doesn't even need the Brutal God Project to humiliate you.

Capcom has only lightly treaded those waters before. ST Akuma, Gill, and maybe Oni come to mind.
You can pretty much only beat him with exploits.

If you have a decent laptop or computer(it doesn't have to be for gaming) then I would download steam and buy KOF 98 ultimate(smooth game play no input lag you can also install the arranged soundtrack which is easy and I recommend it) and KOF 2002 unlimited match is the best and one of the best KOF games(Rugal is secret boss in arcade mode). Those games are older so any computer should run them unless you have a very very dated computer.

SNK fans: meh, the fight with omega rugal in 2002 um was harder than this
I dunno. Those early MK games were pretty brutal themselves. MK3's Shao Kahn comes to mind.
I had to get as angry as him and Akuma combined to beat him back in the day. The most grueling battle of my life. Lost tons of times before I finally beat him

God Rugal=DARK SOUlS LEVEL HARD!
Wrong 94 Rugal in the 2nd round is a bitch. 2002 Omega Rugal is brutal because he sometimes does genocide cutter combos and has the fastest energy attack that I have ever seen in a fighting game. He did a 75% damage combo with his genocide cutter move into his orochi power move. It doesn't help that he has the fastest slide kicks out of all the Rugals.
Igniz in KoF 2k1 is SONIC AND ALL STARS RACING TRANSFORMED TRAFFIC ATTACK RACES IN S CLASS level hard because that bastard can rip you to shreds with his projectiles and infinite combos. He doesn't even need the Brutal God Project to humiliate you.
