Just purchased my first piece of equipment today, a Kubota mx5400 with grapple and brush hog. Just want to say thanks for the videos Neal! Kubota doesn’t pay you enough! Your videos sold me on kubota! I woulda bought from you but you’re a bit of a drive from Arkansas! Lol
@@js4455dl so I ended up trading the mx5400 in for the mx6000 because I wanted a cab model. I have a landscaping business so we used the 5400 for brush hogging, tree work, grading, snow removal, etc. it was a work horse. I put 600hrs on that tractor in the first year of ownership. I would’ve never traded it but I was tired of freezing in the snow. I loved the mx6000 also. I pulled an 8ft landpride cutter behind it and put over 300 hours on it as well. Neither tractors gave me a minutes trouble, never left me hanging once! They were both trouble free for us! I ended up selling the mx6000 because we bought a skid steer and it’s able to do all of the work the tractors could and didn’t want two payments! But I will buy another Mx one of these days for sure!

This winter I have to Give up my MX 5200 to get back on an old 8N Ford.,!! And RED HOT about trusting the japenese workmanship, and the American dealerships & service centers backing them!
believe it or not, the northeast gets extreme Summers as well. just short lived compared to our southern summers. I grew up in NC(back now) but lived in FL for 10 years in my 20s. FL temps NEVER got above the low 90s but the humidity was always 90+% as well and it lasted from February to December 11 months every year haha. In 10 years I never once saw 100 degree day in FL. In NC, we have 5 or so 100 degree days every single summer. They see 100s up north as well.
Pfft it feels hotter only because of the humidity and difference in the sun.... go to a big Midwest city where they bake in the high 90’s and humidity during the day then continue to bake at night from the heat being released at night from the roads and houses and high rises

Where is your Neal score? I think you need to do an episode as a omage to Doug and review a new tractor like he does with all the quirks and features and then do your test drive and give it the Neal score.... All viewers lets give it a thumbs up for a Doug'ish review!
Enjoying my new MX5400 that I bought this year. Stepped up from a L3301.And I bought mine with R1 tires. Don't understand the infatuation with R4 tires except that people love the wide look of tires.
Is it possible to see the MX6000 next to/compared to the Grand L6060? I know you mentioned some of the difference, getting to see them side by side would be helpful.
As an engineer guessing that latch on the right side has no outside entry as it's supposed to only be used in the case on an emergency. Such as you rolled it into its left side and need to escape. Could be a cost savings though. Dang bean counters.
I bought a MX4800 gear transmission a year ago last November, I traded in a L3350. In many ways the 3350 was a far better tractor than the 4800. At 50 hours a large amount of paint was gone from the floor near the clutch. Ergonomics on the 4800 are poor in many ways, foot throttle is in an awkward place as is the control for the rear remote. The entire housing for the rear end looks less robust than the 3350 rear end did with a category 1 3pt hitch. For all that complaining I like the MX4800, like the extra power (like that it is not turbo charged), and like the extra size. I just wish they hadn't skimped on some of the basic stuff they did.
Neil, my local dealer tells me there is no armrest kit for the mx6000 in either the cab or open station variants. If you know the kubota product number for this kit please reply with same. Thank you.
Hi Messick's thanks for the detailed video on the MX series. I have a quick question: Will the CAB version of the MX will ever have a Backhoe like the grand-L? I'm on the market for a compact/utilitarian tractor and I'm considering both the MX and L-Series. And a Backhoe IS A MUST implement for me. The only information I'm looking to get the answer to this question before making a decision, since the CAB a pretty new on the MX series, I'm wondering if Kubota will ever offer a backhoe for the CAB version. I'm willing to wait for a year, as long as I know Kubota will be offering one. Thanks for chiming in.
Hey Neil, Great video and information as usual. I like it better when you aren't trying to do a test drive while talking to us though. I can hear better when you're not bouncing around.

I have to navigate steep inclines while brush hogging and do not want a gear drive to have to push in the clutch at the worst time (3/4 up the hill). I thought the L6060 would do the trick with the additional 3 ranges and the auto switching but it sounds like the MX6000 may work just as well. I look forward to your comparison video.

With the MX6000 ROPS being only a couple thousand more than an L4701, is there much reason to stay with the L01 series? A few grand for a full 13 additional horsepower, category 2 hitch, and better loader seems like a no-brainer. What am I missing?

Our Kubota MX6000 does NOT have a self leveling bucket. You have to get really good with the front end loader controls to raise and lower a load while keeping it level. Even then, I have to stop and tweak the load level before continuing.
Still no L2550? No L series with a cab and no emissions? BIG gap Kubota. Just traded a b2650 cab for an l2501, It fits my needs better. But now looking into a curtis cab.
@@MessicksEquip The l3240 had the same engine as the l2501, came with a cab.. I don't even care about AC to be totally honest. Its more about heat in the winter.
Personally, I would gladly pay a couple extra hundred dollars for the little, added bennies on a tractor. I bought a cabbed B3030 and had to install the rear works lights. The wiring was right there, but buried up above the headliner. What a pain to remove that and connect those lights. Also, the tractor cost about $25,000 and came with no 12-volt accessory plug. If you bought a Sears lawn tractor, it probably had a 12-volt plug.

What are the limitations on the cab model keeping it from having the BH92 backhoe from being an option? I would easily trade in my MX5200 for the cab if I could keep my backhoe that I already have.
I'm have a mx6000 And I'm having a catch in my steering at times. Seems like steering shaft is binding some kinda way has that been a problem with the new cab models If so is there a fix for it Thanks for the info
Hey, I could really use some help so I can keep on tractor-ing a long as possible... I've got a not so good back and after bouncing in my spring seat all day, it takes a toll, so I really need to upgrade to an air ride seat in my MX5400. Is there a "plug and play option" for this tractor or something I can make a few modifications for to make it fit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 😁
Mr. Neil, big fan of yours. Thank for all you do. Please help. I live in S.E. corner of N.C. But close to Myrtle Beach. I just bought a 2020, MX5400 Kubota. To Embarrassed to call my friend I bought Tractor from. But I'm having a hard time changing gears. Is there a special combination to smooth changing? It's loaded. 4 wheel drive, HST, 4 Way Asked Steer Bucket made in Texas. Love my Tractor. It just grins sometimes when trying to change gears. Please help! Thank you.
The right-side door is not ordinarily for exit/entrance on a tractor. The reason? It’s intended primarily for ESCAPE in the event of a Roll-over. That latch difference is unimportant. The seat armrests are a personal preference thing, IMO. I have them...and keep them folded up out-of-the-way most of the time.
I have an actual question. I’m seriously looking at an Mx 6000. I’m getting a cab no matter what but I really want a backhoe. But when we went on KUBOTA’s website it says I can’t get a backhoe with a cab. Neil has a this true and if so is there ways to get a backhoe on it even with a cab?
Have you had any customers that have had issues with the link controller? I’ve gone through 4 already as they bend when using my seeder and flail mower. Seems WAY under engineered to me???
Messick's easiest way is to look at parts document H32000 Lift arm; No. 150 but it’s the “Link, Control” which is a piece of metal that holds the lift arms in place and connects to the feedback rod which ultimately gets to the 3 point raise/lower lever. I’m just trying to figure out it’s it’s just me or a larger problem
I know that this isn't realy related but it's intresting to see that MX is a entier tracktor line up for Kubota and for Renault it was a tracktor line with an option already, the M stands for the manufacturer of the motor, MWM in that case, and the X for the cab option, which was the best cab in the line up.
I work for a County parks dept. in Florida and we've never had our MX6000 to overheat. Even when I'm mowing long stretches of mosquito impoundments in the summer and with the A/C going, the temp stays steady. Of course, you MUST keep the radiator and A/C condenser clean! I always blow everything out with compressed air after mowing. Staying with Kubota's maintenance schedule is important.

I'm have a mx6000
And I'm having a catch in my steering at times. Seems like steering shaft is binding some kinda way
has that been a problem with the new cab models
If so is there a fix for it
Thanks for the info
Turning in 4wd?
No it does not have to be in 4-wheel drive but if it is it makes it a little worse
Thanks! 😁
There is for the cab tractors, but not the open station models. Which do you have?
@@MessicksEquip Great! I've got a cab, luckily. Thanks for the reply
@@MessicksEquip Oh, it's a 2021 model if that makes any difference.
Can you get that loader lever in that location without the cab
I have not tried it, but often the cab valves will work on the open station tractors.
@@MessicksEquip awesome thanks for the reply
Is it true you can't get the backhoe and the cab together on the mx 6000 ?
currently, that is the case. I suspect we'll see one before too long.
What are the different transmission types available for the new MX6000 4x4 can model?
only Hydrostatic, if you want gears you go into the M-series.
Messick's Thank You
can you run a backhoe with the cab?
Not a Kubota one, woods makes one that works
Thank you.
HST or DTC transmission?

Hey Neil, maybe you can explain this to me. Super disappointed why Kabota would make a cab tractor 60 hp that can’t take a backhoe attachment 😩
Use a woods BH100.
@@MessicksEquip will it work perfectly without risk of damage to a cab?
What I wanted to know is: Does it come with outside mirrors????
not standard, its an inexpensive optional kit.
Let’s put some orange tin on that old roof
Does the MX gear drive have a shuttle shift?
Yes
Neal do have any new Holland viewing on you tube
many, Yes.
Tried to build this on Kubota website and it still has the old MX models. What's a cab model cost about?
NICK G there is a section for the old models and one for the new models. Give it a try again from the beginning.
It requires some agility to go in out of the right side of most tractors. I use both quite frequently.
Is there any specific reason why the backhoe is not compatible with the cab model?
backhoe seats hit the glass. Needs a subframe that sits further back. Issue on pretty well all cab tractors.
@@MessicksEquip Thank you for this info!
Does Kubota still make a half track tractor?
For orchards only
I have an actual question. I’m seriously looking at an Mx 6000. I’m getting a cab no matter what but I really want a backhoe. But when we went on KUBOTA’s website it says I can’t get a backhoe with a cab. Neil has a this true and if so is there ways to get a backhoe on it even with a cab?
Backhoes on cabs need different mount frames with more offset. Not one today, probably in the future.
Messick's thanks so much
neal do you every compare the new Holland tractor line against the Kubota line
No, I have friends on both sides of the isle.
cool tractors
Have you had any customers that have had issues with the link controller? I’ve gone through 4 already as they bend when using my seeder and flail mower. Seems WAY under engineered to me???
Whats a link controller?
Messick's easiest way is to look at parts document H32000 Lift arm; No. 150 but it’s the “Link, Control” which is a piece of metal that holds the lift arms in place and connects to the feedback rod which ultimately gets to the 3 point raise/lower lever. I’m just trying to figure out it’s it’s just me or a larger problem
Are your are messik, going to be at the keystone farm show
He is neil messick.
I'm planning on going Tuesday morning until Lunch. Not sure about the rest of the week yet.
I am also going tomorrow
@@mitchellconant9336 I now
@@MessicksEquip ok I mate see your tomorrow then
I own a MX5200 2018, can I install the new cab ?
no
@@MessicksEquip Thanks
I know that this isn't realy related but it's intresting to see that MX is a entier tracktor line up for Kubota and for Renault it was a tracktor line with an option already, the M stands for the manufacturer of the motor, MWM in that case, and the X for the cab option, which was the best cab in the line up.
When will the price be announced?
You can do build and price on the kubota website
Wonder do they over heat. The exhaust runs alongside side the motor
I sure enjoy your videos because of your product knowledge.
Can you sell machines to Canadians?
Sorry, No.
Normally us Canadians can only buy used and not new machines
Sicktrickintuner but there is kubotas in Canada too
ALL AROUND MTB
Yes there is, but us canadian folk can’t buy from the usa when brand new
