A members race down at my local TeamSport in Leicester. this was the GP2 format so a short qualifying followed by a 40 minute grid start race. Not a clean race at all, very messy and scrappy but thats how it goes sometimes at these events.

Love this mate! I go to this indoor karting place and its so much fun, trying to get better as ive started to get into racing and im ready to learn more and improve more, hopefully get my own equipment soon!🤙🏻 Great video bro!

Yeah was a good result, I fell a bit lucky with a couple fast guys not finishing cause of the red flag but I guess their loss my gain, tbh if I came home 5th I'd have been happy

I got stuck behind some really defensive Back Markers the other night at Gosport, and after the race the Marshall actually informed us you could get a black flag for driving slow directly in front of naturally fast drivers such as myself. I had no idea lol
I think it's very much down to each Marshall's discretion, I'm yet to see any form of flag for back markers, as much as it gets frustrating you learn things from it
@@LearnToRace oh definitely, I’d say being stuck behind just tests your skill to overtake and gives you a chance to improve, that’s why I find 50 lap races better than 15 minute sessions
@@elreydelmundo06 yeah the 50laps are good but tbh the 15 minutes has so much variation is driver skill they can teach you to expect the unexpected and make moves in places you wouldn't normally/ want to but to get by whereever you get a chance
@@LearnToRace oh I agree, I usually do the 15 minute sessions with my friends on a Friday night but if I want some good competition I have a go at the 50 lapper with my dad

quick tip- don't drift brake earlier but you will accelerate faster if you don't drift you will find yourself dropping a half to a couple seconds a lap.

love indoor karting, Not tried the Leicester track yet it looks good, Ive only done the Farnborough, Reading and Mitcham track, Ive recorded them on my channel but ive only done the Adult Ultimate Race Experience, ill be doing the members only race at some point as it can get a bit crazy with younger drivers on track on the normal bookings.
Leicester is a fun track, I'll be heading down south sometime to try those ones out, members only events are good, very competitive but fun

Nice race. This is my local. I went for the first time last weekend and loved it so I signed up for the annual membership. Much cheaper than track days! My times are no where near yours though with a 39.396 being my best :(. Lots to learn, any advice for the track or just karting in general?
Welcome aboard, my advice is just to have fun with it, find your driving position with the seat and pedals and stick with it, I've tried changing positions before and it never really works out for me hah if you wanna chase lap times go on a members evening, they nearly always produce the quickest times for everyone on track, I have a video on my channel that is a lap guide around here, well 2 actually, one for a 37.1 and another for a 36.8 check them out, should hopefully give you some pointers and where to improve

Pretty much this. Be smooth and keep momentum. Sometimes that means taking a longer racing line but for karts it's important to keep those revs high
@@lynxntr1lux22members days are great because the track gets very hot and usually everyone is driving similar line so the line stays hot so gives more grip, which means you can turn better and there is less wheel spin. Soooo accelerator can be applied earlier and you can break later etc etc
Really interesting mate- from a total neubie the interesting thing for me is that your wheel turns very little, I guess you’re using momentum shift to get round corners almost as much as steering ?
Erm tbh I don't really know, I just do what I do haha the only thing I do consciously do depending on the corner is use the brakes to start the rotation, so slightly lock the wheels for a split second on turn in

Totally agree about people with light system. On my latest video can see people still racing on red and yellow lights. Sad really 😔😔
Im thinking about trying this for the 1st time very soon. Just for fun but i'll see if I get an itch for competition. Only experience is on much slower karts (15mph) at a family fun park. Im definitely not going to be one of those A-holes recklessly blocking faster drivers.

@@Whiponized understand racing mate, go watch gt3 racing, i do what that yellow guy did all the time at my track, dives, hip and shoulder, side by side contact, contact will always be a thing in racing
quick question how well did those alpinestars gloves hold up ???
I've been going here over the past few months but I'm so slow with a 40.3 fastest lap.. Don t seem to be improving, I think I lose the most time at the banked hairpin and around the top section.. I deffo need more practice but hard to get a clear run most of the times
The last couple of times I've been here the track seems very slow, I've not been able to get anywhere my PB but if you haven't already checkout my hotlaps video of around here, I've done 2, a 37.1 and a 36.8 maybe they'll give you some tips on where you can improve
Sub no. 320 here. It kinda looks like you are leaning the wrong way when entering turns. You have to lean left when taking a right hand turn to create a lot more grip in the kart on the outer wheels in the turn. I have never driven on slippery cement, so dont know if it apply here, but on asphalt, the difference in grip is insane. :-D
I don't lean, I've tried that technique but found it doesn't improve my time, what you seeing is just me turning my head to look through the corner and for some reason when I do that I tilt my head downwards too, next time I'm outdoor I'll give the leaning a try but for, indoors, it doesn't really help, thanks for the advice though of course the sub 🤙
In indoor karting the tyres are so old and shit that the fastest way to drive indoor tracks is to just slide the kart around the corners by flicking the steering wheel quickly

Okay, full blown adults Go-Kart racing, mad respect, looks fun. But guys...almost fighting because of it? Adult MEN almost getting into a scrap over some minor Rubbin and A couple cheeky moves? That's unbelievable. True, flourescent fella was a bit of a double earlier in the race but I still cannot understand what my eyes saw 6 minutes in.

It didn't seem that dirty to me. You can't mess about on these tight indoor tracks. If you keep waiting for the perfect move you'll be behind someone slower than you all day
First dive down the inside by the flourescent helmet guy was a good clean mov3 but the next time he went for it he just punted him up the backside and seemed to lose interest in clean racing from that point on
Didnt know you can squeeze into corners like that even though the other kart is obviously infront and turning into the corner

No my kart was the same speed as everyone else's, back markers are guys that I was coming round to lap

Can you check tire pressure or do any adjustments? I'm curious how they are all set-up and by who?
You can only set your seat in karts models who have that adjustments, nothing more on setup in rental karts
That option is really really rare, but would affect a lot the handling especially in fast corners

Took my daughter there for her first experience. Some idiot rammed into the back of her on the first lap. Needless to say, she doesnt want to go again

Yeah it is slightly frustrating but it is indoor karting so not alot I can do about it and maybe they think I'm trying to get by for position

You can buy it online or at the track when you go for a session, Leicester is my local too

@@bikerwood454 depends on which membership you buy, social is £15, club is £25 and elite is £35 I believe, each one gives you different access to events and discounts

Nah I've not come across an indoor track yet that uses them

Dirty racing is dirty racing no matter how you spin it, if you cant get past the karter in front of you without hitting them then you dont deserve to be on the track simple as that.
