I honestly still don’t see how you only have 600 subs it’s not a bad thing you just deserve so much more I’m really enjoying the content at the minute and your driving skill a superb
Yeah, it does seem to be an incredible track (As far as indoor karting goes). I've never been to TS Birmingham, only been to Dunstable, Nottingham and Leicester. Although Nottingham isn't as bad, Leicester and Dunstable are a nightmare with traffic, something that doesn't seem as much of a problem here.
Similar for me at Harlow last night - rounded 1 flat out, blind exit bend, to find a kart broadside in the middle of the track, had about half a second from seeing it to hitting it! Then had 2 karts up my chuff ram into me too! To say that kart was nowhere to be seen ahead, I'm guessing it must have been stationary there for a good 5-10 seconds and no yellow lights - 1 of them things, nobody hurt, throw out a few swear words and carry on 👍🏻
Nice video. This has been my main track since I really got into karting about half a year ago. My PB isn't amazing basically 49 flat. The last time I went I had a pretty big issue with the marshaling. My mate spun out and got stuck on the starting line hairpin and I passed him twice before we got red flagged. I'm not sure whether this is common practice but it was incredibly annoying as the marshal walked at an incredibly slow pace all the way from the pit lane to where the kart was and back. Not sure whether I'm being nitpicky or if they're not allowed to run or something.
This seems to be the main track where marshalling is an issue, I've been quite a few teamsports and this is the only 1 where I've had complaints and it would appear I'm not the only one, let's hope they sort it out
That was a massive shunt mate!! I agree that one was totally on TS, the fact there wasn't a yellow or red for ages after you hit the guy shows how little attention was being paid, as I'm sure they heard that impact!! Hope you're alright after that one!! Coming out of the pits last is a bit of fun isn't it!! 😅
I was the 1 that got the Marshall's attention lmao yeah I was fine, got the heart rate up abit lol Yeah last was annoying but fun, what was more annoying though was I was pretty much first back in at the end 😔
@@LearnToRace yeah, even when you ended up into the barrier later in the session but got yourself out they didn't flash yellows from what I could see, I always hate to talk bad about marshals, but man, they just didn't seem to be paying attention!
@@CrazySkindogKarting nah it was pretty poor that day and like I said in the video this is the second time in a row the marshalling at this track has been bad
@@LearnToRace Haha I think every local feels like that when there's a bunch of slower drivers around (no offense to them, I love to have them on the track! 😁)
Anoyher great video. I've had a big bump exactly there a couple of times. Like you, there was no Marshall there so we lost a couple of minutes. Kind of puts me off going Birmingham. It's such a good track as well.
Which is your favorite ts track? Only been to a couple around the midlands and just been to the Coventry track which I thought was a really good grippy track, although the marshalling there wasn’t great either. One lad was in the barrier and we probably passed him twice on track.
Out the teamsports I've done I couldn't name a favourite, I'd say cov is my least favourite, that's not to say it's not a good track but I just prefer others, marshalling is usually spot on at cov tbh so must have been a bad day
Are you ever going to try Teamsport Watford it’s a quite hard track as the slipperiness is unbelievable. I haven’t done many decent lap times there even though I have been racing for a while.
I raced here yesterday and we only got two clean laps of racing. They had 18 on track and it was constant red flags was a waste of time. Owner even came out and called off the rest of the day as it was too dangerous with condensation on the track!
ive seen people stuck at the bottom of the ramp up where the marshal is just sat in their booth at the top completly clueless about someone needing help. they were there for a couple laps
once I was racing at halesowen someone brake checked me in a tunnel my kart almost turned over the staff couldn't see me and I almost got t-boned by oncoming traffic scary but luckily made it through
Quick question mate. I’m looking to get in to karting a little more, is it typical for people to turn up at tracks by themselves? Reason being not all my mates can typically afford to do this on a consistent basis 😐
I go on my own all the time, but now I'm starting to meet other regulars, so tend to end up seeing friends at the track anyway. I was super nervous about going alone to begin with after my regular karting buddy moved away, but it's actually not that bad, and you'll probably get to know the staff at your regular track even if not any other drivers.
I always go on my own, very rare I go with other people, obviously doing this channel I've got to know staff at my local 2 tracks and meet people while I'm there but sometimes it's more enjoyable to go on your own, you can concentrate on your racing more that way instead of thinking I need to beat my friends
I’m just getting into karting a little more as well, I’m a late starter but really enjoying it, even if lacking pace so far. Good to hear your opinion on going alone, makes me more likely to go. Great content and looking forward to seeing more, I’m based in the midlands so might cross paths at a track soon 👍🏻. I’ve only tried Nottingham TeamSport and Midland Karting at Lichfield so far.
I'm not sure what you mean by regulate kart size but you just get used to the kart width the more you kart also if your hitting the barriers on the apex of a corner your turning in a little too early
I went to TeamSport Birmingham yesterday for the first time in 8 months and I set a 47.3. So I was wondering if anyone would have any tips on how to improve on that time. Thanks
with a 47.3 youre already doing pretty well, and its probably hard to tell you how to improve as you probably know. But absolutely flat out everywhere with smooth inputs trying to minimise slide and keep the momentum up, theres only 2 parts of the track where you need to brake hard, which is turn 1, and the 1st (of the 2 hairpins next to eachother before the down ramp) on the top of the bridge. These are less of a smooth input and more trying to rotate the cart for a good exit with a quick but hard dab on the brakes, best place to brake for that hairpin is right where the black tyre marks are, youll see them. The key parts to get a faster lap are the flat out left right, no slide through there will do wonders for lap time, getting the hairpin right before the up ramp, hug the barrier on the left and try and get the best drive you can, and the double hairpin on the 2nd floor. Have to dab the brakes quite hard into the first hairpin, pull it out wide to completely square off the second hairpin to get a good run down the bridge, drag that out to where the tyre sticks out and then square off the last bend. Also to get an extra tiny advantage, sabotage your next lap by braking later for the first bend to have slightly more speed over the line haha! Theres abit more to it ofcourse, but with a 47.3 im sure youll figure it out! however 47.3 is really good, especially if your not a member etc! youre doing well!
@@jackse82 Thanks for the advice mate. I’ll try to put it into practice for the next time I go and then hopefully I should be able to knock a few tenths off.
@@antmanF1 no problemo mate, i believe a 45 was my best on a members night, however that was a while back and i cant remember exactly. But ive put on some chunk since then, doubt id be able to get under a 46.5 now haha

I’ve had a similar one there was this guy I was on a good lap and he lost control slammed into the me and I spun and then he hit the wall after bouncing off me at high speed he got black flagged because he also was overtaking in the yellows and caused a crash but we where both ok
Slightly unrelated to crash but in team sport cambuslang they have a turn called hells gate and no camera no marshal at this corner so I spun out there and it took two laps for a marshal to see me and I had to get a marshal for my friend who crashed you should check it out if you take this corner 2 and 3 in cambislang to fast you will spin out and hope some marshal sees you it was so annoying And I now they didn’t see me and just took a long time to get to me because it was green flag for those Teo flags
It all depends who your racing with tbh if you get in a good group with no stops you'll definitely get quicker but I couldn't give you a time on how much quicker
TBF I think this is a great track, but you're right there aren't many over taking spots especially if you're up against people of a similar level to you
5:45 = crash
have to love when people treat timed sessions like position races. like if you're slower just get behind and follow to go faster
