after a year or so people will forget about odyssey but the witcher 3 came in like 4 years ago and people still playing it till now and even find new things in it. so no comparison between a fun game a game for the records books.
I think the only reason AC odyssey has gotten as much praise as it has is because since the witcher 3, there really hasn't been any decent open world RPGs released, if any. Granted, there's been a few RPGs, but if you ask me, nothing groundbreaking has been released in that time. Not saying that AC is better than The Witcher 3, but its still a pretty solid game in its own right. Either way, the vid was purely comparing graphics and sound, not the games themselves.
good luck with forgetting about Odyssey, specially if they still keep making AC games and same thing with AC series, even now ppl still replay old one like Ezio's collection, AC3 and so on. I don't think it is fair to compare them to each other with "more fun game" since everyone will have they own taste.
@Tren Kokoko sure Witcher 3 broke all kind of records but what is it have to do with remember the game? ppl can remember good game and specially garbage game because so many ppl talk about it. Since AC's games always have a lot of cover from various youtube and walkthrough, even if you not play any of the series, you will see some video of it at some point.
What's your favorite part in the game that you remember the most? Mines minor but after all the blood shed and killing.. the cutscene at the bar when Priscilla started singing "the wolven storm" was such a big change in the mood of the game.. 100% a masterpiece!!

I just started playing Witcher 3 a few days ago. I bought it on sale about a year ago but haven't got around to playing it until now. It's an amazing game.
I am a fan of AC (although I prefer the games before and including black flag) but the Witcher 3 was made with love and care to making a really good game while AC odyssey is made because Ubisoft knows AC means money. The Witcher 3 came out four years ago and it is still better than many newer games in every way possible.
Isavirs I’m late to respond but honestly odyssey has a really good story and Dlc stories that are still being released. Not once have I felt that it was a cash cow. It feels like they put a lot of time in to it. Personal opinion. I liked the Witcher 3. The story was great. Tons of side missions. Beautiful places to go but the combat system is extremely lacking. Also in my opinion, Ubisoft has been making some of the greatest games I’ve ever played. I know they’ve made a few flops but most of their games are in my collection. Glad people enjoy the Witcher but there’s also a ton of us that love AC a lot more. Fun comparison though. Neat to see how everything holds up.

Going to sounds weird. But I love decent water graphics in games. Oddessy water/ sea graphics are simply stunning. Wave effects and the fish/ sharks/ whales are the best I've seen.
One of the areas that The Witcher 3 wins hands down is how immersive and story driven it is, I actually cared about the characters, in ACO I couldn't care less and found it so cheap and comical when Alexiosis cried or cared deeply about a character he/she knew for about 5 minutes
Witcher 3 has good overall writing, but the main story was pretty lame imo, just a wild goose chase. Ac Odyssey improved on it's rpg aspect and it lets you do almost anything.

It’s weird how the Witcher 3 had a much lower production budget and a smaller team yet they produced a better game than odyssey. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed a large amount of Ubisoft games, Origins was better than odyssey
No U yeah true, but i mean Ubisoft still spent at least 30+ million on this game, it needs a large development team, and computers, tools etc to produce a map and story at this scale

Gogwata Gaming Persona games are good EXCEPT for Persona 5. People complain about AC Odyssey for having same outcomes even with all the choices but Persona 5 is exactly that but multiplied by 100. You're an idiot if you think Persona 5 even holds a candle to Persona 2 duology or 3 and don't even try compare that to TW3. TW3 is a good RPG and even though it has below average gameplay but it makes up for that in the ROLE PLAYING elements like the characters and story being better. I don't even like TW3 but you can clearly notice the amount of passion that went into this game and I'm not even a fan of the series. On the other hand,P5 is a dumb downed RPG which REMOVES or makes the existing features worse (like the negotiation feature is horrible. Nowhere near as good as persona 2's negotiation.)
@@Dev-nr4dw RPGs are not just about dialogue it's the gameplay that makes a RPG an RPG. Even though not historically accurate , seeing my ancestors and acropolis in all its glory was something i fell in love with. Im so proud of this game. However... the witcher 3 as a whole (music ,gameplay, graphics, story ,sidequests etc) is a game i ll never forget. From start to finish it never ceases to amaze you and feel epic to the bone. Not impressed at all with this AC graphics
Still Odyssey had a MUCH higher budget and was created by a MUCH larger group of people. Also, Odyssey both looks and plays like a reskinned AC:Origins so the only thing they have been doing for the last two years is writing a new story and create a new map. Ubisoft is, along with Activision and EA one of the most money hungry companies in the gaming market. They don't care about createing good games, they only care about the money. If they could re-release the same game every year (just look at Far Cry 3, 4, 5, Primal and New Dawn?) they would do it.
Assassin's creed franchise is a prime example of style over substance, when you look at the gameplay you feel like playing it but when you start playing it, you realize how empty the world is and how meaningless most of the quests and story missions are. While witcher 3 is truly an enjoyable experience, the attention to detail is amazing and it alone has got more substance than the whole assassin's creed franchise.
@@barry2349 Ezio's story was great! But still, in my opinion, the Witcher 3 story is far better. I agree. Not Assassin's Creed per se. The series is kinda played out now and contrived to all hell - but, it does mark a new direction for the team of trying to breach into the RPG market. I remember playing Assassin's Creed years and years back and thinking that they could make a pretty cool historical RPG without the sci-fi elements. I think the team is feeling that too, but can't shed the Assassin's Creed brand through fear of losing sales to a new untested IP. Sorta like you get the sense the team making Call of Duty desperately want to make something new, noticeable when the zombies modes have more flair and passion in storytelling than the main campaigns do (Jeff Goldblum was a treat). I was thrilled to get an ancient greek game because it's rarely done outside of God of War in this Norse dominated RPG climate and even that series changed to Vikings. It's flawed and empty - BUT it's a start and a turning point. Dialogue trees, branching narratives and player choice. I hope they take the lessons learned from Odyssey and go forward.

The story and characters were beaten so many times. Even by ancient games like Starcraft or GTA San Andreas. In terms of RPGs its pretty close fight for the story actually. Where Odyssey is more like a comedy, satire - Witcher tries to be like GoT BUT you can see the pacing issues there. (It starts slow and over time it speeds up and speeds up until events are happening too fast, wont even talk about the forced White frost.) But games like RDR 2, AC Origins, or Skyrim? Well, Witcher 3 gotta bow to those.
NPCs feel real.. OMG.. You can't talk to any NPCs except very few with a "!" Mark on them..unlike any elder scrolls games.. Story has been beaten many times.. Geralt isn't even considered as one of the greatest protagonists
Wild hunt had an overall shitty main story. Blood and wine is better than Wild hunt, since the villain wasn't a pushover nor a goose chase for a character you never met.
Of course TW3 has to giveaway the throne to the newer generations one day. I’m just impressed by the number of features where TW3 beats AC Odyssey. Didn’t really expect it to be still competent after years. Best game of its time, still remaining to be one of the bests to this date. I’m just happy to see my favourite game still winning awards here and there even after years of release (it won best environment for Steam Awards 2018).
You showed that in the grass in ac the character how reacts to the enviorement. But you didn't showed how Geralt ''reacts'' to the water. In w3 you can feel how harder to walk in the water. Geralt move his sword slower in the water, and move it a bit different then usual.
Have both and love them dearly as they shine in their own unique ways. Each with their own good and bad *"quirks and features"* . It's so annoying seeing the same repetitive negative bandwagoning there is between the two games lmao. Great video regardless!
I got more than 100hrs in Assassin odyssey, but they come in painful way with endless mission with same core, but Witcher has some magic that keep me keep doing its mission but not driven by exp or equipment. Okay but what if the water in the Witcher /is/ supposed to be all oily and crap? The Witcher and AC:O are set in different climates and ages. In the Blood and Wine DLC the climate is different too (hence different lighting and colours). Even now, if you look at the waters of Poland (on which the world of Witcher is based) and Greece are vastly different. Polish waters are murky and dark and Greek waters are clear.
In terms of visual fidelity for the water effects and physics though, its still AC:O that comes out on top. Nordic countries have harsh and brutal waves and TW3's is.... mild at best

Still Odyssey had a MUCH higher budget and was created by a MUCH larger group of people. I agree. Not Assassin's Creed per se. The series is kinda played out now and contrived to all hell - but, it does mark a new direction for the team of trying to breach into the RPG market. @@dripkuz go that far? Witcher 3 is the most awarded game of all time. You're on drugs
People who didn't delve into the story and lore will never love this game...this people just press spacebar and skip the cutscenes.... Vasemir's death, the scene when geralt finally finds ciri, Geralt breaking the 4th wall at the end of blood and wine, olgierd's backstory...are the most amazing things i have ever seen in a video game....i agree with you, it is the best game ever made
Now this, it's worth it.
Hey!
What the fuck
XD
Loved both. Both in my top 5 games of the last decade. Both do things better than the other. I'm just happy they both exist.
The Witcher 3 > Assassin's Creed Odyssey
on some things yes, but some is ac odyssey win.
The Witcher3 = Assassin's Creed Odyssey Live with it fanboy
@@Virtualsinner go away fanboy
I think you mean Assassin's creed odyssey > witcher BOO
@@NostalgicMem0ries the witcher would pull so much further ahead with the mods that are available on pc such as hd rework project but i agree i think the character faces on ac odyssey do look better and lighting in some cases unless you use a lighting mod on the witcher 3
AC is a Big Mac menu with fries and ice cold coke. Witcher 3 is a five star seven course menu with wine, candle lights and live capella. Both are satisfying in their own way, however the latter is so much more....it is unforgettable.
And in that capella sings Priscilla. :)
I'll trade Kassandra's abs with absolutely no lizard eyes freak
@@danielmucha1100
Nah, the Toussaint Capella!
The Horses in Origins look better than the ones in Odyssey. Idk why but Origins was just really great and fun and detailed for it's time. But odyssey is just a copy but worse in my opinion. The world of Origins feels like a real Egypt
But did you donate to the camp today?
@Arthur Morgan hey Arthur
@@roshan5826 i played the game and donated once 230 bucks. And after that i haven't donated😂
Because Ubisoft had REAL PLAN with AC Origins
@@Randomized_tv
hey uncle AURTHER!
I love how every year people compare newly released games to The Witcher 3. It says a lot about how awesome the game is.
People do it due to nostalgia lmao
At next pleace The Witcher 3 compared to Red Dead Redemption 2.
Would be interesting
Red Dead Redemption 2 is superior to the Witcher 3. I'm a big fan of the trilogy but I have to admit even on console that game looks a lot better than the The Witcher 3.
Im not talking about resolution, fps etc. (I know a pc has more power)
but in my opinion Red dead Redemption 2 and Uncharted 4 are the best looking games and they are only on consoles
@@timm.3700 I have to agree. Sadly they are only on consoles..
@@Kobanyai_enjoyer I hope you are referring to graphics only. R2D2 is amazing but Witcher 3 is still the thronekeeper for the best singleplayer and RPG game. And of course a studio as big as Rockstar will make better graphics over 3 years after W3 release.
AC Odyssey is also a very good way to learn about the ancient greece, monuments, weapons, clothing, characters are unique and beautiful on its own. The improvement of your character througout the game is truly addictive and without even noticing i am just level 51 of 70 and feel like the game is not even close to an end, its the type of a game that is never finished and so you will always be hungry to explore and learn more. From 0-10 my score rate is 8.9
8.5
If I think about it ..... 9.5
@@Virtualsinner well yea, in my opinion there are some flaws that doesnt let the game be so fluid as it could be, the parkour and climbing isnt that smooth in the game and there is no musics while cutscenes are playing which i think is really important in a game. These are are the main bad aspects of the game yet in my opinion.
AC odyssey or any AC game IS NOT a good way to learn about the country it takes place in.
@@Indarussiantv Well Odyssey title is, if you go to the map there is a option that you can choose to only see historical monuments and there are plenty of them in the all map, you can see details of the monuments and why it existed.
The fact that Witcher 3 can still compete (and often come out on top) in terms of graphics with games that came out 3, 4 and even 5 years years after is absolutely incredible.
If we're talking about the game as a whole- the story, the characters, quests, dialogue, music, the world and all its content, Witcher 3 is undoubtedly the better game. Odyssey might've been a game of the year contender (which is great) but Witcher 3 literally defined a generation of gaming. I do love Odyssey tho, had a lot of fun exploring the beautiful greek world
Origins rebirth my love for open world games I found Witcher 3 world very boring (haven’t played in a year) maybe with this new found appreciation I will revisit W3 to see if it’s any better
Well, if u have in mind witcher 3 has almost 4 years and less than the half budget... There is only one answer, Ubisoft sucks
Pablo Marquez nah ac was good to
@@FORTNITEGod-gk6dm Exactly, Ac WAS good. Now the games are just The Witcher 3-wannabes. Black Flag was the last of its kind.
@@TESMediaGroup black flag sucked LMAO
Illumi Ibn Silver
It sucked, but less than odyssey.
@@benjad92 nah
The Witcher 3 is still the greatest game I have ever played and I have played pretty much everything! From the world to the story to the characters everything was constructed with care and love and because of that it has got my love and appreciation for life.
+1
Half of the critiques from the video are about stylistic choices actually, which is really dumb.
In terms of visual fidelity for the water effects and physics though, its still AC:O that comes out on top. Nordic countries have harsh and brutal waves and TW3's is.... mild at best
@@lotus1219 Yeah, I suppose so but you gotta give Ubisoft some credit as well. Black Flag was an even earlier title but the water in that game still looks amazing even today.
@@gracecalis5421 I agree that waves of Skelligian waters could be harsher. But the rest of the Witcher world isn't based on Nordic countries, only Skellige.
6:50 Bajek in AC Origins also did that, but thematically I think it's taken from Ridley Scotts Gladiator when Maxiumus walks through the wheat fields of Elysium.
Talk about comparing a minigame to Gwent to Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Believe it or not, I haven't played The Witcher 3. Ever. That's why I'm really excited to play it for the first time!
It's a really really good game. Just take it slow. You can only play it for the first time once. So don't rush it
If you have played Assassin's Creed Origins or Odyssey, you'll be disappointed by The Witcher 3 graphics. Install a lot of mods (e.g., "HD Reworked" and the "Aqua" mod) and The Witcher 3 will gain, but it will never look as gorgeous as the latest Assassin's Creed games. The comparisons made in this video just aren't realistic.
@@coolcat23 you will be able to max out TW3 graphics and still get good frames. You won't be able to do that with ACO. They didn't optimize this bullshit game and even if I'm getting 60fps the stuttering is a big turn off.
same i always wanted to play it since release but even now i dont have a pc i have a "gaming" laptop from dell tho
@@coolcat23 do you just play the games for the graphics
Both games excel in the departments that are most important to them. Graphically they go toe to toe, but in terms of quest design The Witcher is unmatched.
You didn't mention When an enemy detects you in Ac Odyssey, exciting music starts playing. 🎶.
I recently replayed Witcher 3 and I’m playing Odyssey now. Witcher 3 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, way better. I had mine modded for maximum sexiness at 6K, so yeah, way better graphics too.
Higher resolution doesn't mean better graphics. Odyssey is the much better looking game here
@@Zimarg Agreed Odyssey is much better looking overall with water, lighting(godrays esp), animations and shadows. Witcher I think wins in vegetation and specific textures however Alexios face looks much more natural.
From a gameplay and story perspective that's purely subjective so I don't think that can be compared directly.
Everyone says Witcher looks amazing for being made in 2015 and I agree however AC origins being released 2 years later in 2017 is pretty much identical to Odyssey and I believe looks much better than Witcher so in my opinion Witcher 3 gets praised way too much for its graphics quality. This is especially true when Unity was released in 2014 which I still believe easily beats Witcher and lots of games out today
Much better graphics doesnt mean better game
the story in odyssey is bland and the side quest are just copypasta and the world isnt interesting overall with every city looking the same
@@Zimarg I did say it was modded, and yeah, looked much better, very impressive, Witcher 3 enhancement project if you’re interested
I tried playing odyssey I tried to like it bc I’ve grown up with assassins creed but I can’t. The game lost its spark for me I feel lost and overwhelmed when I play it. Feels like a chore to play. Witcher was a bit of a grinder aswell but I felt more complete working my way to get the Witcher year as it actually felt it mattered to get the sets. Witcher wins for me any day
witcher variation in sword n armour is something i look forward in fantasy games. thats why i was hooked.
The Witcher 3 had such a great storyline you got to basically chose the outcome of the game. I loved the characters, and being able to choose Geralds love. Im excited to play Cyberpunk 2077, but hoping another witcher game comes in the future!
A.C odyssey sold millions of copies after the A.C origins game was out, they were both solid
