I never really understood why firearms are so expensive. Especially the optics. You should be able to get reliable firearms out of the box under $500. I personally think the prices are artificially inflated or are directly related to the government doing things to make them less affordable. With the tech we have now, we should be able to mass produce these high-end firearms and sell them for a quarter of the cost. It's not like guys are forming the pieces by hand, they are usually using machines.
We are blessed to live in a time when there are some great inexpensive guns to be had by PSA, Ruger, Canik, Mossberg, Taurus, (their new stuff anyway) and others.
Beretta is a great brand for a cult, given their history: five CENTURIES of firearm weapons manufacturing. They literally started making aquebus barrels over 60 years before Shakespeare wrote his first play and over 80 years before the King James Bible was published. Martin Luther had just nailed his 95 Theses to the door of that Wittenberg church nine years earlier, and the United States of America would not become a sovereign nation for another two and a half centuries. And, most importantly, John McClane used one to fight against German terrorist/thieves during the Nakatomi Plaza Heist of 1988.
Happy and proud H&K fan! Love all different types of firearms & companies that are out there and the selections they have to offer but my VP9 is my golden boy compared to the rest of my handguns! Can’t wait for the next gun gripes video!
I'm the same. I pack my VP9 Tactical/ RMR any time I can. However, I wish H&K would make a small gun. Even the VP9SK is still kind of a chunky monkey. When you need a pocket .380 or slim 9mm, it's not going to be an H&K.
Never owned one but I passed up an H&K .22 AR style. Built no polymer…. Man I get upset every time I think about that deal, I should have bought it. It felt like quality, when I see another it’s mine for sure!
Im a combloc guy when it comes to my rifles and smg's. Thing is though, I don't believe they ever made a pistol that I actually enjoy shooting. But HK knocked it out the park on the VP9. My VP9SK is within reach all day every day. Love that I can carry with 10 and 13 round mags, but change to my 17 rounder and it immediately feels like a full size pistol.
Yeah, I understand. My youngest brother is a Glock Stan. (Hi, Jim!) I am in the same category as Jerry Michulak. I like Smith and Wesson and my daughter chose SIG Sauer.😭
I'm a Sigger. The 320 and 365 just feel good in my hand. I own a VP9 and have fired glocks, Taurus, M&Ps etc but the sig is my only handgun I can shoot 200 rounds through and have 0 fatigue in my hands. Rifles I have no preference I own em all.
Im part of the, I’ll take one of everything cult, my bank account winces at this idea lol. I think the main thing is we in the 2A community need to come together and support each other, respect each others opinions, while still having those debates/conversations. Just don’t shut someone down cause they like something you disagree with. We all need to watch each others 6.
Honestly most guns these days are pretty reliable. And companies that used to be seen as not great have improved dramatically. Like Taurus. I think In general quality of firearms has gone down a little with the increase in production. It’s inevitable. I’m kind of a fan boy for buying older guns. Vs newer stuff. But I’m getting old.
Older guns are the ones you want to be buying anyway. The new stuff keeps getting better, and they will still be there waiting for you when you want to buy one.
I forget the Taurus model but people were raving about them like 10 years ago, and the one I got was stovepipe city. I might have gotten a lemon but it's scared me away from the brand ever since.
I'm a self admitted Walther fanboy. My love comes from a P99 airsoft I bought and it had the ambi pointer finger mag release. That sold it for me because I hate using my pointer on the right handed thumb buttons. The Walther feel is fantastic and the triggers are just so amazing. I hated the trigger on my Glock 26, I could only put 100 rounds through it at a time because the sharp pointiness of the trigger safety would start hurting my finger. My PPQ on the other hand is so so nice, I could shoot it all day.
My Ruger security six I bought a the 80’s the front sight was canted to the left I never had it fixed - just adapted..like the original 6.5 Swedish Mauser far mor accurate than I can see.
PSA rocks! I put together a 16 inch, mid-length, Nitride upper with an MOE lower, including the polished enhanced trigger, with back up irons and a Sig Romeo 5 red dot for $530, and bought 16 Magpul 30 round magazines for $8 each (about another $128). The upper was a blem (a couple minor scratches) but it fit to the lower tight as a drum. I had to disassemble, clean, and lube the gun (it was a little gritty) and then it was off to the races. I still need a good sling and a 3x or 4x magnifier but it runs nice. Better build than my Bushmaster which is not a bad gun.
You are correct! The Colt Python definitely has the cool factor, I have the Colt King Cobra 3 inch and what a nice carry it is I've have custom holster . Love that KingCobra , for a EDC. AND a weekly shooter it is sweet! There's no other way to say it , Beautiful accurate great shooter and when people see the Colt revolvers they flock too you and want to look at it, hold it and just swoon over it, It's unbelievable to watch how people respond to seeing a Colt revolver. Thanks for the show everyone should own a high quality revolver, even if you can only have one.
BTW, I attended the "Jan 6th riot". It was mostly older folks (like myself) and soccer Moms with their kids. Other than the melee that was started by police and undercover feds it was the most polite and peaceful crowd I've ever seen.

I have slightly smaller hands than most dudes, not by much, but enough to make shooting glocks feel comfortable because of the square shape of the grip. Are their any glocks that don't have the overly square grips?
From experience, the Sig FCU is nice because it's an easy swap out from a general armorer's perspective. When time is of the essence, as Eric likes to say, sometimes there's no time for pin dropping and parts swapping, so an easy trigger pack replacement is nice.
Lol this is really relatable! 😂 i’ve joined so many groups in facebook about this and it is so much fun to read about it. But hey i didnt know there’s a religion for AR 15
Of course there is, the AR is the most versatile two legged neutralization device ever made. From a small frame to woman to a 7' quarterback it does the trick and while usually not cause collateral damage. Yes an AR-10/AK-47 has more bang, and if your offensively going through walls and windows or hunting it's a better option. But if you go down your kids can use the AR -15 and if you don't own an AR-15 classified as an "other" or "pistol" when sold, your doing something wrong. All hail the modular, tactical, infinitely adaptable life saving platform that doesn't waste the stock space!
The AR15 is the civilians equivalent to an M16 and many veterans such as myself remember our rifles serial numbers like our social security numbers...I'll be an AR fan for life.
There is a Christian church that uses scripture as a reason to own and carry firearms. They allow open carry of hand and long guns in service. They also have a ritual where bringing your guns to church is mandatory. Nevermind....they just touched on the vice documentary that I saw. I have no problem with it, although I find it strange.
I have one PSA - 16” mid upper on an a2 rifle lower. Works fine until it gets to freezing then it fails to cycle right. No clue why, but not wanting to go through the hassle of shipping. That was about 7-8 years ago. I don’t dislike them but it does make me hesitate to grab the next one.
Could be a low tolerance part that goes out of spec when it contracts in the cold, could be the kind of lube you run during the colder parts of the year. Have you tried lubing the gun front to back and see if it improves?
CZ fanboy here. I'm 57, so nowhere near being a Millenial. I prefer their ergonomics over a lot of the other guns I've shot. They are very durable and accurate. Lots of CZ clones out there that are also loads of fun. Really, they are all clones of the Browning Hi Power which is an excellent firearm. I also definitely favor hammer fire over striker fire. Both work well, just a personal preference.
I guess you can say the only brand I'm a "fan" of is Ruger, but that's mostly because they make solid products at reasonable prices. I know there are better firearms and I know there are cheaper firearms, but I do think you get decent "bang for the buck".
I've had a question for a minute now.... If your putting together an AR....Is it exceptable in gun circles to put Daniel Defense hardware on a bcm upper with a franklin armory lower??? Or would it be posing, or lame on the range???
I've thought about buying one. Just haven't been able to do it. Doesn't seem very practical. Plus it's ugly as a shoebox full of dicks. I like to carry my pistols and that would be like carrying around a fuckin brick.
There is definitely a 1911 fan boy cult. They actually have several factions. They have the .45 acp purists. Original and modern configurations..ect...
There is no "unity" in the gun community. You know where there *is* unity, with the anti-gunners. I wish there *was* unity between my 2A brethren, but there is constant in fighting, and separation over stupid arguments. The Caliber Wars.....nuff said. I love my AR/AK hybrid! Best of both worlds!
I own at least one of pretty much every major platform. I like the 1911 at the range. I carry a Hellcat pro. I hunt with a Mossberg. My truck gun is a KelTec. Got a few antique or exotic safe queens. If i had to pick a single gun though I'd probably end up with a Glock 😂
I think people often forget how much quality control goes into a firearms' reliability. One AR put together with cheap parts can outperform an expensive AR if the cheaper one had higher quality control. It goes round and round, and quality control is in the center.
PSA has come into their own! Proud of that company. They are a USA manufacturer that has gotten the AK build right! Their AKs are good quality and a good value. I'll be getting one of them.
Just got up to 1000 rounds through one of their GF5 with the ALG trigger and CHF chrome line barrel. If I concentrate, can consistently get 6” groups at 50 yards with the iron sights. Nothing to brag about, but I am happy with it. BTW, No malfunctions so far
@@GunSperg AR fanboys tend to do that lol, plenty of legitimate faults in the platform, but they'll never admit to it and just still keep echoing how ARs are perfect for everything and blah blah blah mud test blah blah. Honestly, they're probably the worst when it comes to "gun cults", ruins the hobby a lot of the time.
I loved your take on the sampling towards the end. If you don’t try it on, then you won’t know if you like it. I’ve bought guns that I thought I would love. Some turn out to be great guns, but not for me. I’ve been surprised on both sides of the spectrum. So, if your friend or some friendly person at the range offers to let you try something out... (And it looks like it will function properly. Don’t be the test pilot.) then give it a go. You just might fall in love. If you don’t love it, then just be courteous and thankful for the experience. You don’t have to join up, and there’s no need to talk it down. Be safe, and have fun.
The AR-15 is an internal piston rifle-no its not.. The AR-15 5.56 has a different go gauge than a 223 chamber-no it doesn't.. The AR-15 buffer does not effect dwell time only carrier velocity, yes it does.... The WWSD rifle is what Stoner would have done, no it isn't... You can mix AR bolts without doing head space, no you can't...
Hey man, PSA is a heck of a company man. Honestly, I’ve never had an issue out of any of their products. I’ve only had a few but they were excellent weapons. People hate on a certain weapon just because of the price most of the time. They don’t want people to think they’re using a cheaper rifle or pistol when there’s nothing wrong with it. Everyone is different.
I like both AR and AK. For an all-around rifle for extended outdoors use, I would go with AK, it will hold up better outdoors and with less maintenance over a longer period of time, and field maintenance is much easier. I like the AR for mission specific applications and home defense
@@TRIIGGAVELLI Here is another example of how the AK is more rugged: the entire stock is not necessary to the function of the weapon. If you get shot in the stock... gun gets run over by a vehicle, or you trip and fall on a root. This is unlikely in a single mission, but in a long term SHTF scenario, its possible you take damage to the buttstock of your weapon. An AK can run with the entire stock blown off/missing, and you can replace it later with literally any object you like. If you take damage to the stock of an AR it can be game over, especially if its staked and youre in SHTF you gotta unstake your castle nut to replace the buffer.... specific parts...
@@BaconSlayer69 Lol no it's not. The AR15 is the most prevalent rifle in America. Like Glock parts, mags and ammo (5.56 and 9mm respectively) would be everywhere.
When I started to actually learn what I wanted in my collection I had to let go of my ego and be honest about what I need, what works for what I'm using it for and what makes me happy. My collection makes me happy and has taught me to respect others choices even if they aren't my own.
I'd recommend a good scope like a 1-6x24 or 1-8x24 lpvo good mid range budget I'd say Swampfox tactical or sig Sauer like there tango msr or even better like a vortex or primary arms pretty good and I'd recommend a secondary sighting system like back up iron sights or like on mine I run a 1-6x24 lpvo in one piece mount and also have an offset 45 degree rail that puts a reflex red dot to side of scope for close in or backup
With a 1-6x24 or 1-8x24 lpvo which I sighted have a little better eye both on higher magnification compared to a 1-10x28 lpvo a good amount have more eye shadow if your not right behind it or to far back off scope
Or if you prefer a red dot you could get a Holosun or eotech and through the glass you could co witness a backup rear iron sight all depends on the set up and what you have in mind, the mission drives the gear
Hahaha I remember a few years ago I was a sig guy and my friend was a glock guy, and the M17 came out and I actually sold my sig and became a CZ guy lol and my Glock friend became a Sig guy lmao funny how things happen....

I hear yah I'd love a Knight's armament or Daniel defense or lwrc but can't afford a 2 thousand dollar bare bones rifle so I roll with my aero precision so since it's like 1100 I put a few hundred in lpvo one piece mount 45 degree reflex red dot and Magpul furniture
😆👍
Aww man. How can you forget about Beretta fanbois!? 😂
literally wrote that as Chad said this! 😂😂
Amen bro! Proud member of that VP9 fan club as well.
H&K love to throw away money for no gain almost as much as the B&T fan club 😂
That polymer framed 1911 is the Bul Armory SAS ultralight ii. It's a phenomenal gun. You guys should review one. James from TFB really likes his.

Good evening, and now the 8888 oclock news.
No, Taurus guns still suck
If a Glock trigger hurts your finger you need to go do real work and harden them hands up a bit

Tupperware guns! 😂! I have all kinds of guns and love them all!
I used a PSA/H&R US Goverment marked M16A2 lower it was on sale for $69 fantastic deal all the right markings safe semi burst property marked etc
You guys are SPOT ON lol i love your videos God bless the both of you!

You are correct! The Colt Python definitely has the cool factor, I have the Colt King Cobra 3 inch and what a nice carry it is I've have custom holster . Love that KingCobra , for a EDC. QUESTION- why is the legal length 16inches?? What's the reason?
I’m a basic Glock and ar guy. But I love my baretta pistols.
A nice balance
I have slightly smaller hands than most dudes, not by much, but enough to make shooting glocks feel comfortable because of the square shape of the grip. Are their any glocks that don't have the overly square grips?
@@darksu6947 I’ve tried the 43 and 43x they are too small for my hands. Smallest I’ll go is my 26 19/23 for ccw
From experience, the Sig FCU is nice because it's an easy swap out from a general armorer's perspective. When time is of the essence, as Eric likes to say, sometimes there's no time for pin dropping and parts swapping, so an easy trigger pack replacement is nice.
@kilgor5793 You triggered? Did someone even say trigger? Pretty sure I said FCU, that's the entire Fire Control Group, bud.
Indeed there is an AR15 religion.
They’re called “the Moonies”.

I have a psa blkout. Never had any problems. I live in Florida where we wear sandals at Christmas so bring cold is never an issue
Could be a low tolerance part that goes out of spec when it contracts in the cold, could be the kind of lube you run during the colder parts of the year. Have you tried lubing the gun front to back and see if it improves?
You forgot about the 10/22 fans.
I love Shadow Systems!!! They did everything we want Glock to do and did it at an unreal price! Definitely my new favorite in the industry
@Steve Delaney I really like the one Shadow Systems uses!! It’s like 4 or 4 and a half pounds.
❤That one is definitely on my list
Where I grew up ALL Honda Civics contained at least one Glock 😂
I guess you can say the only brand I'm a "fan" of is Ruger, but that's mostly because they make solid products at reasonable prices. I know there are better firearms and I know there are cheaper firearms, but I do think you get decent "bang for the buck".
I'm proud to say that Ruger and Sig Sauer are both right here in my home state of New Hampshire. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have a mini 14 and 10/22 really good guns I will never sell and am happy for my purchase 😅
Not so reasonable prices anymore.
I've had a question for a minute now.... If your putting together an AR....Is it exceptable in gun circles to put Daniel Defense hardware on a bcm upper with a franklin armory lower??? Or would it be posing, or lame on the range???

I can relate to this statement a lot!!
I am with you.
Just avoid their 556 AKs for the time being. Their 7.62x39 AKs are solid though

Some turn out to be great guns, but not for me. I’ve been surprised on both sides of the spectrum. So, if your friend or some friendly person at the range offers to let you try something out...
All the problems people complain about are things that were issues when palmetto first started. Stuff they remedied like 7 years ago.
@@hansgruber9685 exactly right
I like both AR and AK. For an all-around rifle for extended outdoors use, I would go with AK, it will hold up better outdoors and with less maintenance over a longer period of time, and field maintenance is much easier. I like the AR for mission specific applications and home defense
Lol no it doesn't the AR is just as rugged.

Random question. Just got a Smith and Wesson MP AR15 sport II. Anyone know a good scope to put on it? Or red dot?
