Alex was fired 10 minutes after this interview. When asked, Matt Heafy quoted, "DON'T GET ATTACHED TO OUR DRUMMER. The fans need to understand that."
"WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND..."
You people get offended easily huh?
What do you mean YOU people? LOL
xXAscendingPhoenixXx it's a joke you nard
I think he was just making a joke. Or did his joke offend you?
I'm pretty sure the band will be able to survive with that beast behind the kit. #keepalex
Godhe we will see...
They already said straight from the get go this guy was only a fill in,
Although it does look like they may have changed their mind.
Still, with Trivium anything could happen.
LarsUlrichIsMe more than 100 shows and he's still going , I hope they will keep him
They would be really silly to let him go TBH, the very first thing I noticed on these albums was how badass the drumming was
How right you were
1:03 Matt and Corey are back there like “You’ve passed the 1st test, but we shall see... we shall see.”
That’s what I was thinking too😂😂
First of all, A7x found their new beast behind the kit: Brooks Wackerman! Then Trivium did the same with Alex Bent! Wow can't fucking wait for the new album!
I can tell you that he will be out of the band a few time after the new release, if Trivium doesn't change drummers they wouldn't be Trivium
They didnt change drummer for the first 9 years, werent they trivium back then?
Speakin of Brooks, love how Paolos rockin the Bad Religion shirt, two of my all time fav bands inconsequencially linked haha.
Loren P => First of all, I'm pretty sure a lot of people care about A7X... Matt Heafy himself cares a lot about them since M Shadows is the one that helped him recover his voice after he blew it out (He is talking about it in the interview he did with Alternative Press in August 2016)... So the reason you still have a new album coming out in October is in some part because of A7X. Corey Beaulieu even said that he would love to tour with A7x (Interview he did with Music Feed in March 2016) so stop with your non sense.
Loren P who hurt you
Trivium has ought to keep this drummer. The guy's a beast!
@@timothyhammonds What do you have against triggers?
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer speed.speed.speed. no groove. no versatility . just speed. = zzzz
Drizzt Do'Urden he’s a great fit for the band but he isn’t a prodigy
@@timothyhammonds So, are you still being an ignorant dickhead two years later or have you grown up?...
@@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734 and alex still the beast... I dont know what hppen to timothy is he become a drummer or smething?
Alex seems like such a good dude, very professional and super humble. Fingers crossed he can find a home in Trivium!
3 years on, he's still here and is still cool!
3rd album with Alex and now they already talk about the 11th :) seems like tge future for Alex is really bright and now he's officially a part of the Triv fams 👌🏻
@@xanniieeyy Stoked! Loving their new album!
He is indeed home ❤
I'm gonna listen the shit out of this album next month I can already tell.
metfan4l good to see you here, I'm super excited
same dude.
Fucking same here dude
Dude i see your Channel everywhere
Oh man, I guess you really did. Did it exceed your expectations?
That moment when you squeeze the earphone in your ear and try to extract every single part from the new songs.
I'm most excited for the riffs at 0:40. Fast and head banging worthy.
Stephen Lowery can't stop bangging on sever the hand riff
I'm still quite put out by the turnover rate of drummers, but I'm really glad how open and forthright the band is being about their perspective on the issue. Matt is being brutally honest and it's refreshing to hear Paolo say "we thought maybe this time it'd actually work out with this guy". They're not acting like it's all 100% perfect and how it's supposed to be but they're making the best of it. Alex is fantastic anyway and seems chill so hopefully he'll settle and be able to stick around for a long time.
Daniel Murphy
Just remember this....Its all about the money....once the new member realizes that hes pretty much touring "help" and he doesn't get anything off the merch, ticket sales. Hes set on a shitty salary...and that's about it. Once he starts getting a name for himself, they abandon him like a adolescent stray cat!!!!
What's kinda bullshit here is that Matt says: "Me, Corey and Paolo are Trivium"
While nowadays the guy claims the audience is Trivium.
I get perspectives change, but ... it rubbed me the wrong way.
I don't think "stick around for a long time" is enough. I hope Alex stays "until the end"
@@Darkdayzz Yeah I felt that was a bit disrespectful to what Travis contributed to the band's early sound. Even if he didn't write a single riff or harmony or lyric, his drum parts are honestly legendary to me at least. Pull Harder intro, countless parts off Shogun, iconic parts of Trivium's sound.
@@queensinthesky not to mention he was the one who threw matt to be the vocalist and was technically the founding member of the band :/ even if they left on shitty terms he still is technically a part of trivium wether they like it or not
The future isn't in his hands. It's in his feet 😏
DatAmber haaaaa! 😏👉🏻
With Alex, it's his hands too! The boy is fast as shit, and makes everything he plays look like he's been playing it forever. He's one of those people who just "has it".
Best drummer since Travis in my opinion. I dont know why people used to hate on him. He was a beast drummer for Trivium and fit their style perfectly.
Krondo 17 I feel very much the same. I have appreciated and respected the strengths of each drummer, but I feel Alex brings a certain energy that I feel has been lacking since Travis.
Krondo 17 Travis was pretty sloppy live towards the end of his tenure with the band
EQ-smoove haha they wish
Sorry dude but, Travis is no where near on the level of Alex
Francesco Paoli is an amazing drummer, but if you think that's the only proper way to play (or that there is such a thing), you're incredibly ignorant when it comes to drumming. Probably just ignorant in general, if you see X and reply that it's shit because it's not Y.
This guy is hands down the best drummer trivium has had. I hope he sticks.
Matt's reaction in 3:11 hahahahahahah
john chester agustin sooo cuteee
john chester agustin lmfaooooo❤❤
I died lol
john chester agustin thats my dawg haha
I cant tell if he was playing around or if that was a genuine reaction
Fuck yeah, so proud of you Alex. I remember back in 2006 when we were all kids chilling at Rob's house listening to you guys practice for TSOM, we all knew back then how much of a bad ass drummer you were. Props man, living the dream
wouldnt be a trivium documentary without a shot of paolo changing strings
3:20 Matt "finally I can watch some porn.... shit I'm on camera." *puts the phone away in a very smooth way*
I'm glad they finally said Travis is a beast, because he was fucking awesome. IMO he had so much more in terms of a unique drumming style than anyone else Trivium have had up until this point.
Michael Reynolds I will always miss his drumming. Truly good work.
I understand Trivium is just Paolo, Matt and Corey but you need to realize talent is in front of your faces with Alex Bent. This guy rips and I'm happy to have him on a Trivium album. I can't wait.
It isn't anymore and it's the best thing ever!
So glad they acknowledged Travis's work in the first few albums at around 4:06
The camera guy really likes Matts nose
I mean its a cute nose
Keep Alex in the band, he's the guy who all of you are looking for ...
Saw Trivium with this guy live a couple days ago. This current constellation blew my mind and was the best live experience in my life! Thank you for that!
And btw: The two new songs are amazing! Keep it up. Greetings from Germany :)
Lovin Corey and Matt listening to classical music in the background. Been a Trivium fan since the beginning and will be till the end of me!💯🎸 SO STOKED!
I can't get enough of these types of videos.
1:02 Matt standing like Darth Vader in the background LOL
That song at the end sounds so sick!
Marvin Blue Its me or that riff is not on the album?
Maybe it'll be on a Special Edition of the album, I don't recall it on the album either, unless it's just covered up by vocals.
I think that riff at the end is the backing track for the solo section of Betrayer. I could be wrong, though
Now we know that song is Drowning in the sound
The studio sessions already sound legit, excited for this!
Congrats on the success in Trivium Alex! Glad to see things are going well!
Trivium doing what they do best. Love these guys can't wait to see em in November!
I can't wait for the new album! And those riffs they've been teasing throughout the video sound awesome!! Can't wait!
Hope Alex will continue in the band for a long, long time!.. Its a fking BEAST!
This is really starting to feel like the best time to be a Trivium fan since Shogun, everything about this album has my excitement levels through the roof... Especially Alex, finally a drummer that has the technicality and measure on par if not superior to Travis, able to compliment everyone else's musicianship perfectly.
And Matt, stay safe out there in Florida dude! \../
These men are professionals in music. I like every TRIVIUM album they made from the beginning. This is real creativity - every album is different. Real music without false. Keep on moving TRIVIUM. I`m waiting for the new album. \m/
After hearing the drums on the new album I just had to google “trivium drummer”. Glad this vid came up and I’m honestly just blown away by this dude
Alex is a master! I love Trivium's music and I listened and enjoyed every album! Even so, first time I heard The sin and the sentence, i got shocked at the very first seconds because of the drumming! really hope they''ll keep alex! See you in november guys! big love from montreal Canada!
Travis Smith was the bedrock of my influence as a drummer and musician growing up, I think Alex is the next chapter for the first real time in Trivium in 9+ years where that might happen again. There is something about the drumming on Shogun that will never be touched, unique drummers aren't just "around," keep Alex Bent.
I've been listening to metal for twenty years. Alex is by far one of the best drummers I've ever heard. I'm stoked to see just how far he can take this.
Trivium needs a great drummer like Alex. He is probably the best drummer they have had and has a great personality and humbleness about him. Look forward to the other parts!
Wish this was longer. I've always been a fan of Trivium and now I'm a fan of Alex, album is gonna slay!
I'm so excited for this new album.
Today is 7th September in Indonesia, and its my birthday so thanks Trivium its like a birthday present for me!
I seriously cannot wait for the new album omfg
Alex is phenomenal. This is honestly the first trivium record I love front to back, and I credit to his playing. I took a few lessons with him a few years ago,and he's an absolute monster player.
this man can bring the new fresh air from trivium and mak the band out of the box~~
KEEP THIS DRUMMER
what a beast of a drummer Alex seems to be...hope he stays around to make it all worth while
So nice guys!!! I personally liked this album a lot
3:11 Matt just enjoying some food then BAM! Camera recording him, just the instant "Oh Shit!" face.
It feels great coming back and watching these videos after the album has been out for a couple months now, and I have to say KEEP ALEX, he is what makes you guys you again!
STOKED FOR THIS ALBUM
This new drummer is amazing man can't wait to see you in ATL
i think this will be first album which i will buy... so hyped !!!
1 take is insanity in light of how difficult those drum parts are, wow!!
Alex is an animal behind the kit! Looking forward to more studio clips and the record \M/
I REALLY hope they keep this dude. First drummer in Trivium that I've thought finally surpasses Travis Smith. AND he's only 24!?!?!?
This album promises so fucking much, can't wait!
Awesome!
so awesome
Alex has amazing talent. He understands trivium and even beyond what it should be and its taking it to a whole new level. Every other drummer in Trivium in the past had great history and skill levels, but personally, i would definately keep alex due to his skill level, understanding, easily able to do a trivium song in 1 to 2 takes, able to play 15 songs in a week, he is amazing. He even planned on what type of beats he wanted to do without hesitation for their songs. He thought ahead and he is really outstanding. Keep him in and make trivium better. I cant wait for the new album. #thesinandthesentence2017
I love how corey and matt just standing there in the begining and looks like 2 beasts
You can definitely feel he's a humble guy, that just happens to be an amazing drum player.
The new drummer is a beast!!mind blowing! Those blast beats are fire!
This new album will kick ass!!
Alex is exactly what trivium has needed. He's an amazing drummer, and a phenomenal individual.
the sin and the sentence is definitely my favourite album, and 40% of the reason is the drumming, so tight and fits everywhere
Legend drummer!
The new drummer's like...a death metal version of shia labeouf
Best drummer for Trivium ever ... Epic !!
God, i cant wait for the full release of the album!
It suddenly makes so much sense. They want a drummer who shares their vision of the band and that has the grit to make it happen.
As a fan, it's been rough to see them have so much trouble, but it seems to be leading in the right direction. Hats off to the band, and I can't wait to hear the new record.
this guy is a beast :D
Cant wait for the new album
"OK, sure."
- Alex Bent 2017
Ag sweet man. Well done bro this album is baked HOT and I love your playing Alex
MORE!!!!
I keep hearing little bits of other songs in this video and I really really want to hear more because they sound so god damn heavy and kick ass. October is too far away man.
This album gonna be amazing.
Best Drummer 🔥🔥❤❤ I love U #TRIVIUM
very good choice guys we are waiting the ALbum here in Algeria yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
That track at the end had a real thrashy vibe! Keen!
Yhea i love dis people because they look like they where my group of friends, just like people that exactly share youre aspirations, lifestyle, and ways of seeing life. Matt and Alex just changed my hole life, they make me be who i am a little bit more
This man is insane all around but his hihat work is a whole other level my goddddd
Alex is a beast he is sooo good. Wow... speechless \m/
Everything you hear in this video sounds really Shogun-ish! I like it!
This drummer is so ****ing awesome.
Trivium this drummer guy a beast Brutal..
Alex is as good on the drums as everyone else is on their instruments. That's why he can play technically but with that natural feel.
Hell yeah!🤘
Amazing!!! Please add South Africa to your tour:)
Ahhh!! The riffs are so tasty! Give us more!
This drummer is awesome i hope he will stay in the band
Awesome
No offence I've never heard of this drummer... but dam.... he is so good! About 15 seconds into the sin and I was mind blown... I haven't heard a drummer like him before. Perfect fit.
He plays as hell
he s awesome
Fucking hell, I'm too excited for a second Christmas this year. Also Alex is a beast
Alex is sick and adds the boom to the band!! Can't wait for the new album and hopefully he will be permanent!!
Drummers have got it rough man. Next to vocals, I would say that it is the most criticized aspect of metal music. People expect them to be perfect live. I'm not a drummer, but it sure seems hard. Good on you Alex. You're a beast dude.
freakin amazing....
Es una bestia el baterista, realmente es la base rítmica que Trivium requiere
That last riff got me pump !
Awesome instruments
