You can feel the attention to detail you give in every sentence of this review. I'm glad you didn't shy away from talking about Undiscovered Country either, as that's integral for understanding the game. It really does have a cinematic quality that's much better than Starfleet Academy. Thanks for the shout out at the beginning as well! It truly was The Christopher Plummer Show.

Greatest Star Trek game ever made. We need a remaster.

This is far far more essential than you ever demonstrated unfortunately.
The Miranda class for example can be almost trivialized if you get the drop on one. Target the sensor system located above the bridge. Unload everything and knock it out which isn't hard to do. Their ECM is now totally gone as their ability to counter any of yours. Set your next target to their secondary weapons (photon torpedoes) and just shoot until they are dead.
You are also using your tractor beam too much IMO. Particularly when you let the target fully turn at you and unload all they got and wreck you. Knowing when to let go and grab again later is important.
The third person view is also very useful for seeing enemies shooting at you and recognizing where incoming damage is coming from. I noticed you got pounded on a lot and had no idea where it came from. 3rd person would have helped.

I loved this game back when it came out, despite its flaws. This was the starship simulator game that Starfleet Academy should have been. I had always hoped there would be a mod that allowed the import of SFA's missions and cutscenes into KA, and it's a shame that Klingon Academy itself hasn't had a re-release.

The environments were really neat... planetary rings, gas giants, nebulas, black holes, etc.

Thank you Angel for every little attention to detail you adding to tie fighter total conversion. I cannot wait to see it when you finish it and have things worked out the way you want. I am so excited for this. You were really busy in your live stream so I decided a comment here was better. Have a wonderful night and take care.

It's nice you gave a final review after playing through it. I only played it back when sometime after it came out, I wonder if my old copied disks work. What really brought it home for me was the soundtrack, the Klingon opera style music.
    Have fun with bridge commander!

5:25 He reminds me a bit of a Klingon Abraham Lincoln.
8:24 I mean, there was a fanfilm production that entertained the idea of having him present during "The Four Years War". (Prelude to Axanar) At least you got a full movie and a game with him, I wanted to see Kharn the Undying who would play Chang's mentor. Klingon bloodwine, the actor playing him died before we could get the fanfilm!
14:30 There is a computer entry on the Romulan Star Empire and how the Klingons feel about their allies. Remember, they are allied at this point in time.
15:11 Wasn't he supposed to wipe out Chang's fleet in the process?
15:45 That's what happens in real life. People get propagandized and are unable to face the truth.

My brother and I used to play our own captain and crew mode where he would fly the ship and shoot everything with the joystick and I would use the number keys to control the crew and redirect power and repairs. Such a fun way to play. Also really loved how the ship damage would be modeled and the ships would become burning hulks.

A game that i would always see the big box of and really, really want. Despite at the time not being a big Star Trek fan or owning a pc.
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it and whether or not my much younger self had a sixth sense for good games.

Would be interesting to see half life, or something like Homeworld, if you play that sort.
Would be hilarious to see honour guard though as well

You could give Star Trek Resurgence a go. I have not finished it yet but I really like it. The gameplay is sometimes a bit janky especially in the action parts but it has nice TNG vibes. I feels like an epsiode and when you beam down to a moon the background looks like the "we need a cheap background" from the old series (even if I am not sure if this was on purpose ;) )
