    Actually, the D'Deridex has no impulse engines. According to the designer, they were simply forgotten the show. My gues was always, that the singularity they use for power also provides a different kind of sub-light propulsion, which does not need any emission mechanism. Some kind of gravitation devise.

    • @VallornDeathblade
      @VallornDeathblade 2 года назад +8

      If we extrapolate from other scifi that uses gravity drives such as Babylon 5. They generate a small gravitational field off the bow of the vessel, so instead of pushing the ship forwards with engines, the ship simply 'falls' forwards for as long as the drive is active. Which would be a very Romulan way to propel a ship invisibly and without showing off any impulse signature.

    I think the D'Deridex would perfectly classify as a Multirole Battleship

    Definitely one of the most unique designs of Trek. Nothing that shade of green should be so imposing.

    The "head" section of the Warbird always reminds me of the faceplates from the old Silverhawks cartoons. 🙂

    I do wonder if the "D'Deridex" is named after the American inventor Zadoc P Dederick who along with Isaac Grass invented a steam-powered humanlike robot to pull carts in 1868 and inspired early American science-fiction stories like "Steam Man of the Prairies".

    well this was surely intresting as a star wars fan..reminds me of the ISD but alot differently..but they both remain to be the most powerfull frontline vessels of both empires even after both of there collapses
