"The distinctive stern mounted rising turret from which the Scorpion's name derived..." It was this moment where, despite having played every main Halo game, I found out why the M808 is called the "Scorpion".
The VTOL combat air drop capability is one that is often overlooked when comparing the scorpion to other military vehicles. It is a vital thing for a space based force to have, and allows for strikes behind enemy lines to have armor support. That more than makes up for its comparatively light armor and weaponry.
1)Mi-12 can carry T-64. Scorpion is still 20 tons over many MBTs with superior characteristics. 2)you're literary using brilliance of Pelican as an excuse to praise Scorpion. Why not praise Scorpion for MAC guns and Spartan program then?:))
@@TheArklyte MACs are heavy. Hilariously heavy, such that they don't fucking move without starship levels of thrust - which is why they're on star ships and orbital platforms. Also, tanks are cheaper and faster to make than even the very *ablatively* designed Spartan III program. In the time it takes to run a batch of Spartan IIIs from acquisition of *teenagers* to the final suicide teams, you're looking at at least 2 to 4 years. For the same price, you can have more of these tanks than you have places on star ships to put them in after only 6 months. And also, they're more likely to survive their first mission. And also keep in mind, part of what made the Spartan III program cheap is they brought in orphans and then sent them on missions that, while they succeeded almost categorically died while pulling off - which means ONI didn't have to explain why they were paying wages/pensions to more than the TINY handful that did survive (I'm talking like, 2 or 3 individuals surviving 3 production runs of several hundred each). And their armour and super soldier procedure was still really pricy. And in terms of cost, a single Spartan II might cost the same in dollars as this tank, but that's only looking at the individual, their treatment, and their equipment. It does not factor in the man hours or training, and the *10 to 13 years* it takes to get from *literal fucking abduction at 7 to 9 years old* to super soldier.

Scorpion doesn't fit well into the modern MBT role, but if viewed as an infantry tank, its design is exceptional. It's just fast enough to lead ground advances with the infantry, well armed enough to create breakthroughs, and its operational mobility is enough that it can be wherever it needs to be.
I mean, if we're talking about tanks engaging from prepared positions (dug-out holes or other forms of fixed cover), then it still has an advantage over other tank designs. The fact that its gun is so far above the main body means that it can fight from a position where the only part of it that's visible is the gun itself. I recommend Installation 00's video on the Scorpion, because he crunched the numbers on this tank and concluded that, among other things, its gun is actually really, really powerful.
The issue the scorpion has is with design. It has a massive profile, is vastly underpowered for its size, has those 4 treads, and has way too many shot traps. It's too damn big- and heavy- to conceivably fit into an anti-infantry role. And as a MBT it has way too many issues to not get slaughtered when pitted against far more sensible designs like a modern Abrams. I love the Scorpion. It's cool. But it isn't a good tank.
Plot twist the machine gun is a browning M2 with some futuristic bullshit. The scorpion would be the longest running tank design with the longest running heavy machine gun in Halo.
Underneath the turret of the Scorpion, there is a Jack-O-Lantern drawn in blood. This can be found by destroying the turret, then standing on the upside-down turret.
“Why are there 6 pedals if there are only four directions?” “Caboose! Get in that tank and give us cover fire!” “Okay!” “And DON’T shoot me this time!” “Okay!” *kabam!* “Son of a b****!!!”
@@jjhester6586 I felt more intimidated and awe by AT-TE design. Especially with that big gun on it's back. The only thing that I'm gonna gripe about it is that it's a open seat for the gunner.
Bungie did so many shorts that revolved around the infantry of the Halo universe but never showed love to tank combat. It would have been very cool if we got the perspective of a Scorpion tank crew in the same style as Fury in a short vid for the game.
The chasis also saw use as a platform mounting other weaponry. Surface to Air missile pods saw the tank get the designation of the Tarantula, but the lack of point defense between missile barrages saw the variant reverted back to the main gun later in the war Still a better AA platform than the Rockethog tho
Fuck the rocket hog. That thing is arguably worse design then the regular warthog cause of ammo problems. You could get 1 full Salvo from that thing maybe 2 if you get risky and plant some more rockets in the damn truck
As an armored enthusiast, the biggest issue I will always have with the Scorpion's design, is the single operator. Sure it reduces crew casualties if destroyed, but the there is only one person doing all the jobs of a tank. Ideally Three people should operate a tank: Commander/spotter, Gunner, and Driver. Allocating all these jobs to one person, even today, would be extremely overwhelming. Dodging incoming fire, trying to spot enemy positions and then firing on the enemy, in a real battle, would over load the one operator.
I get where you going with this since we would not have 3rd person perspective in real life. If the scorpion really was used in reality i think it would fit more into a mobile weapons platform then MBT.
Hell, even in Halo, imagine how useful it would be if you had someone pointing out targets with a designator, popping smoke when people target you, and coordinating with other elements while the player drove and shot. Like, you would actually have someone telling the Marines where to go instead of just blindly hoping a Grunt with a rocket launcher doesn't pop out of a building and explode you.
The Scorpion is named an MBT but as a scout tank or Infantry Fighting Vehicle it would fit the bill far better. Its design, its operational range, its weapon placement and its capabilities fit that role. It also makes a lot more sense to strap a scout tank to a Pelican and drop it in the middle of a half-developed world with limited infrastructure and no large maintenance potential than it is to drop a full MBT.
Keep in mind MBT stands for Main Battle Tank and simply refers to, well, the main tank of a military, it is not an indication of a vehcles capabilities. As I understand it the Scorpion was designated as a light tank during it's design phase. And it was meant for rapid deployment from naval vessels and engaging in asymmetric/urban/mountainous warfare (hence the extreme elevation/depression angles of the main gun), with heavier tanks forming the actual backbone (Aka the MBT) of the UNSC. But since those where the 2 primary activities the UNSC was performing (and nobody saw that changing) pre-Covenant war and it did them very well while being very cheap, it saw wide spread adoption. Over time the other, heavier tanks in service where phased out with out any dedicated replacements, thus it became the UNSC's MBT. And during the Human-Covenant war humanity didn't have the resources/time to switch production to more resource intense medium/heavy tanks. Especially when the Scorpion was doing so well.
@@hanzzel6086 its a weird tank. Its a whopping 66 tons despite its small profile and titanium-ceramic armor. The Grizzly is just 5.5 tons heavier despite its significantly longer and higher frame&turret and an extra gun (2x120mm instead of 1x90mm), and also called an MBT despite its much higher firepower. Even the wheeled materièl vehicle (Cobra) is called an MBT, despite being closer to a Centauro wheeled tank destroyer.
Their research was fine, its just that the research was based on small unit operations rather than large scale strategic warfare. This isn't the MBT of a thousand armored divisions crashing over a world. Its the MBT of a platoon if someone said "you know what, drop platoon should have the firepower of an armored element for when they are fighting on random little dots across the galaxy and sometimes need something that hits harder than any boot on the ground could." They are cheap relatively speaking, easy to use, easy to produce and highly effective in their given role. Plus the UNSC hands them out like candy. So what you get is the option that EVERY single platoon of infantry can be supported by a squadron of Tanks which is extremely valuable when your missions are often based around squad and platoon level engagements.
@@Deepingmind if it were as well designes like you said it would have been designated as an actual light/scout tank and wouldnt have been a whopping 66 tons. Even its much bigger and more powerful brother the Grizzly, which does sport the more conventional MBT design and two 1.5x bigger caliber guns is a mere 5.5 tons heavier. Like many other design aspects in Halo the size and weights are off. Only in this case they are overstated instead of understated. The UNSC ships for example are almost universally smaller than their design would allow. In this case the weight and vehicle type of the Scorpion are wrongly stated. A simple change from "MBT" to "light/scout tank" and a change in weight to the 30 to 40 ton range would already settle this since the tank technically has the shape, design and usage of a light/scout tank. And in sci-fi stories I absolutely love the idea of using a smaller, lighter tank or tank destroyer on landing parties instead of the oversized, overweight nightmare vehicles often dropped by far too small vehicles in most sci-fi.
@@nekdo_kavc the main issue i think with the design is the placement of the turret and crew compartment. having the crew compartment in front makes them especially at risk of death if the tank is taken out. other than that i don't really know enough about tanks to criticize it further. would you care to elaborate please
@@weirdofromhalo its not neccesarily a bad thing, it just leaves the crew more vulnerable in the event the tank is taken out of action. with the crew in the front any hit to the tank is likely to kill them as well, and its far easier to replace a tank, than it is to replace well trained soldiers. other than that, I don't actually know enough about tanks to criticize it further.

It was like a glorious moment of revenge, being able to just stomp over the covies after everything they put you through.
Someone brought up the theory that since you are playing as a spartan many things that seem slow in game are actually just the result of spartan time( plasma rounds, the spnkr, tank etc)
I already knew this, but damn the m808 would stomp the m1 abrams in every way. Though probably it's biggest advantage would be the neural interface that allows for a crew of 1 rather than a crew of 4
@@nobleman9393 having a high velocity round is more important than the size of the round itself. The Scorpion not only fires high velocity rounds with a speed unheard for present day thanks but it also has a smoothbore barrel that helps it even more.
I think the best practical use of the tank can be it's 4 tracks instead of 2 we use now. I'm not a tank designer but it just looks like it might be a good idea if implemented right
@@nahx6205 The issue with having more sets of tracks is that now you need more drive wheels, a more complicated transmission, etc. Doubling up these mechanical parts that will require regular maintenance introduces more parts that could fail and put the vehicle out of action for repairs. The redundancy is a plus, but I'm not sure if you could get the tank back if you get de-tracked on one of the pods. It would still probably be a mobility kill.
@@nahx6205 There's actually a prototype tank with four track pods (I think it's called the concept 1b in world of tanks) but it was too heavy for the four pods to add mobility.
@@nahx6205 It was tried and turned out to be a terrible idea. You don't get any real benefit and you pay for it by having way more complexity, and K.I.S.S. is still _the_ single most important principle in military vehicle design.
"Hey, how does 90 millimeters of tungsten strike you?" Also I like the implication that the reason they kept the M820 as the "Scorpion" was because they were concerned the UNSC marines wouldn't trust it over the M808 if it had a different name
Great firepower, very bad to steer on PC version if every other game has WASD for movement. But here one uses the mouse for turret and steering controls.
Track pods add a unnecessary degree of complexity while offering no advantages in traction speed or ease of maintenance. They also increase ground pressure compared to conventional tracks meaning it cannot traverse soft ground making it's cross country speed much lower than a conventional tank. It's small crew also leads to high work load and increased user fatigue compared to a tank with dedicated commander, driver, and gunner stations and lowers situational awareness by removing a pair of eyes that could be acquiring targets while the gunner engages others. The fixes are easy. Add a commander station to the body, give it conventional tracks, add a commanders site with a commander override to the turrets position. And perhaps a remote MG turret to suppress infantry with. Then it would be at least akin to a t-72 with actual gun depression. Or one of the early AMX tanks with an oscillating turret.
@@zidniafifamani2378 Being that large, a standard track arrangement would be easier and more reliable actually. It would also spread the weight of the vehicle out more improving cross country speed which is the entire point of tracks.

@@alexisbaz8746 If UNSC can afford railguns on Warthog and warship, they can even on Scorpions. The Scorpion has the same paradox of Spartan energy shield.
More like a mobile infantry weapons platform then a true MBT. So glad the lore for it did back up the gameplay of it. It does beat everything. Would have been cool i the games if you could switch from HE to SABOT rounds. Remove the explosive part but bonus damage to direct hits.
MBT just means "main battle tank" for the formation using it. So its still a true MBT by definition, its just that it's the MBT of mobile infantry detachments.
I think the scorpion only having one crew member, the driver, is a major flaw. Normal people would be overwhelmed driving it, I feel like only a Spartan would be able to use it effectively.
As iconic as the Scorpion is, it is a poorly designed main battle tank that wouldn't stand much chance against T-72s, let alone Covenant armor. The four independent tracks are the most apparent issue, when looking at the vehicle. Each track is equipped with their own hinges, drive sprockets, return rollers, bogies, and drive train segment, increase the maintenance requirements, increase the mechanical complexity, and decreases the overall reliability of the drivetrain. This was actually an experiment by the US Army in the 1950s and it was abandoned because it was inferior to conventional track designs. It has not been revisited by any military to my knowledge and, if it has, it has most likely also been abandoned due to its inherent problems. The 90mm cannon is also underpowered as an anti-armor weapon. 90mm guns were phased out of US and NATO service in the late 1950s and early 1960s to make way for the 105mm and later 120mm guns, which boasted higher muzzle velocities, greater ranges, and more effectiveness against composite armors. The Soviet equivalent, the 100mm, was phased out around the same time for the 115mm and then the 125mm, for much the same reason. Given the fact that we see no indication that ETC technology is employed by the UNSC, nor any indication that the propellant is significantly improved from modern propellants, it would indicate that the 90mm gun is on par with the 90mm gun mounted on the M48 Pattons of 1958. The third significant concern is the exposed forward MG position. For a military that has sophisticated AI and drone technology, the fact they don't have a remote weapon station in that position, instead opting for an open ring mount with no cover for the operator, indicates a significant lack of awareness, especially when one considers that the primary role of the UNSC prior to the Human-Covenant War was Counter Insurgency Operations against the Insurrectionists. Against a foe that primarily employs ambush tactics and assymetrical warfare strategies, having the machine gunner so exposed makes manning that position suicide (as anyone who has tried to man that position in game certainly knows. The fourth major concern is the crew ergonomics. The Scorpion has space for exactly 1 crewmember, with a second able to take the aforementioned machine gun position. The second crewmember, however, has no ability to assist in the operation of the tank itself, meaning a single individual is responsible for driving the tank, laying and firing the gun, AND spotting targets. That single individual is more overworked than any other tanker in human history. Indeed, the crew ergonomics alone make the Scorpion one of the worst tanks in any alternate universe I have yet explored. The worst in terms of division of labor we ever got in the past was a series of two-man designs, which incorporated a driver, and a gunner/loader/commander. Later designs would have the Driver, gunner, and loader/commander. Most of those designs were 1920s and 1930s French designs, though the US, UK, Germany, Russia, and Japan had a couple of their own. Universally, the tanks that followed those concepts were inferior to virtually any other tank, due to the fact that the commander (who's role is to command the tank and spot targets) was too busy either loading the gun or firing the gun to command the tank or spot targets, leading to tanks with 2 or 3 man crews becoming isolated and destroyed by hostile infantry or tanks they never saw. Some modern tanks, particularly those of Soviet origin, do incorporate three man crews. But they do so by replacing the loader with an autoloader, leaving the commander free to command the tank and spot targets, the gunner free to shoot targets designated by the commander, and the driver free to drive. In the Scorpion, one singular person is expected to drive the tank, spot targets, lay the gun on said targets, and engage said targets simultaneously. While it may work in a video game, it most certainly does not in real life and no amount of AI support can alleviate that.
I love in infainte the banished seem scared of them if you surprise them in a scorpion they sometimes scream “ his got a scorpion” which reminds me of the allies being like “ TIGER!!”
Many people harshly criticize the design of the scorpion tank. Many of the criticisms are valid and reasonable, but they all overlook one thing. The scorpion tank just looks fucking awesome
I cant help but feel that the Scorpion tanks appearance is based on its name as opposed to actually having been developed to meet a specific battle field role or the iterative evolution of a talk to this form. It suffers from Mammoth tank disorder. “lets give it 4 tracks because its scifi and cool!” when in actuality all they have done is make one tank have the maintenance requirements of two. Looking at the type of conflict the UNFC are fighting I cant help but feel that something thats not a tank would have been far more useful. They are hopelessly out numbered and outmatched. Something fast, hard to spot and packs a punch would be far better. Something not to dissimilar to the American Tank destroyer doctrine of WW2 So that they could hit there enemy from a concealed position, hopefully kill it and then disengage before they can retaliate in any meaningful way. I feel like in a conflict against such an advanced opponent with numerical superiority one of they only viable options is to avoid engaging them in a pitched battle. Pleas dot murder me for the spelling and grammatical errors. I'm dyslexic, did my best to spell check it but something inevitably got through. Videos on point once again. Keep it coming I love this stuff.
The Scorpion in reality is not really an ideal tank nor as a Main Battle Tank, it's gun is actually smaller then many of our present day MBT's as many modern tanks today uses either a 105 or 120mm guns while the Scorpion in comparison only has a 90mm gun and fires quite a outdated round type which is some kind of Armor Piercing High Explosive shell which is a very outdated shell that not many modern day militaries use anymore. Plus the Scorpion's track setup is very bad in terms of ground pressure and there is not actually a lot of benefits of having separate track pods and if anything just over complicates things and I don't believe a couple men would be able to repair a track pod especially in a battlefield scenario. Either way its a game and as such things in a game are meant to be cool first and I do say I really love the Scorpion's design as a tank in terms of coolness.
The Scorpion is a Light Tank dedicated to move around rough terrain and support infantry with sufficient maneuverability. I guess the 90mm makes sense because it serves a purpose to take out Bunkers and Aircraft if necessary and it’s light enough to be carried by a Pelican. Unlike their heavier variants, the Grizzly.
@@Romanov117 Well you see the Scorpion itself is classified as a Main Battle Tank and yet its main armament is a 90mm smoothbore gun? it would be very much sufficient on engaging bunkers and light enemy targets but for a gun on a Main Battle Tank? that is expected to engage things like other tanks and be able to support infantry and scout and be the jack of all trades? It is also stated in lore that when coming against covenant armor the 120mm gun (or was it a 135mm gun?) on the Grizzly was seen as adequate enough to engage and destroy its targets then I do say the Scorpion, although looks cool is quite under-gunned especially for a MBT 500 years in the future. I would also like to point out that the UNSC's Star Fighter the Long Sword has a 120mm autocannon like how come they don't put a gun like that on the Scorpion? at least the Scorpion variant we see in Halo 5 has an upgraded 120mm gun but I will also admit that in terms of the scale of things Halo has not always been great on that but I still love the franchise to death
@@noahvcat9855 Probably the 90mm Gun on the Scorpion Tank was much more advanced than the present-day 120mm in terms of newer Gunpowder and Materials used on the Ammo because this Tank is made in the Future. When the UNSC had dealt in a War against Rebels during the Interplanetary War and the Insurrection Wars. The 120mm for the Tank requires space and manpower. It was expensive and limited in production in terms of materials and cost, goes the same with the UNSC Navy and the Airforce. Therefore, they went to create cheaper and portable Tanks which can be lifted by a Pelican and good armor to sustain direct hits from an RPG. Armed with 90mm gun probably has the same firepower as that of the modern-day 120mm or slightly more powerful. For more than 300 Year's of Service, I don’t think they would mind upgrading the Tank after the Interplanetary Wars because of the reparations of POW’s and material costs at that time. While the UNSC have no greater enemy to fight, the only enemy which the UNSC had do deal with is the Rebels prior to the arrival of the Covenant. During the Human-Covenant War, all of the UNSC spendings spearheaded a lot of Prototypes that brought forth the SPARTAN Program and the other Ground and Airvehicles. But most of their spending were for the Navy because the Covenant has ships far superior than any UNSC vessel. This is the reason why a lot of prototype weapons were limited production. Even adding every Scorpion a 120mm won’t do if humans have their only advantage on Planetary Ground Defense against Covenant Ground Forces. The real threat is to deal the Covenant in Space. The 120mm Guns are used in action during the Human-Covenant War is a Grizzly, but they’re limited production. In the Post-War, the 150mm guns on the newer Scorpions is a great upgrade. Yet they are much powerful than the present-day 120mm Guns. As for the Longsword and the Starfighter having 120mm Guns is that they are used to deliver heavy packages on enemy bunkers lying deep underground. Also, they are used to taking on smaller frigates. Because in Space, you have tons of enemy ships and other fighters to deal with.
@@Romanov117 I do say you make a great point, adding a 120mm gun on a Tank where most combat takes place in Space where ships have 10x or more of the firepower of a MBT and so most of the resources were all pointed there, but still if they had the technology and resources and advance materials to make an advance 90mm gun then why not also make an advance 120mm gun? like you can't deny a MBT with only a 90mm cannon even by our standards of today that seems too small for a *Main Battle Tank* would make sense for a lighter tank but if the capabilities for a advance 90mm gun was available that is better than modern 120mm guns then why not make 120mm gun that is also as advance as the advance 90mm? This whole thing of the Scorpion using a smaller gun is like saying a tank in the future using ww2 tech like sure I can see that happening but it won't be as effective as using something more up to date or powerful. It still does not make sense to me for a Main Battle Tank in the future to not have at least a 120mm cannon or something bigger, even if the threat is going to be covenant warships in space you'd still want as much firepower as you can. Plus if a Scorpion was a light tank then the 90mm gun would make sense but as I said multiple times it is not, it's a *Main Battle Tank* that also weighs about 66 metric tons. I also realized that many light tanks and vehicles today now use a 105mm guns instead of the old 90mm so even for a light tank the 90mm gun is too small. I could talk about more on how the ammunition of the Scorpion is an outdated 50's round and that how would it be almost a nightmare to try to repair this vehicle in a battlefield due to having like 2 people crewing it but suffice to say the Scorpion is cool and all though I would not say it is the most ideal Sci-fi tank.
@@Romanov117 Plus considering that it seems the UNSC seems to like throwing money at their problems I don't see it much of an issue if adding a 120mm gun on a scorpion would just only increase the price of the tank a little
So basically in order to turn the tables WITHOUT the Halo series as we saw it happening we woulda had to make a number of Space an atmospheric craft that was pretty much their versions of THIS tank.. since the ODSTs, some various other infantry types and Spartans pretty much helped have the infantry portion covered
Reasons why the Scorpion is a bad tank: #1. It's tall as fuck, but can't depress its gun. This makes concealing the hull and firing from an elevated position impossible. #2. 66 tons, but only able to go about 20mph. Most MBTs today are comparable in weight but far outpace it in terms of speef and maneuverability. #3. Only 90mm for its main gun. 90mm anti tank guns were phased out of service shortly after ww2 for a reason. Not to mention that the Scorpion is restricted to HEAT. #4 small crew = more stress.

Scorpion doesn't fit well into the modern MBT role, but if viewed as an infantry tank, its design is exceptional. It's just fast enough to lead ground advances with the infantry, well armed enough to create breakthroughs, and its operational mobility is enough that it can be wherever it needs to be.
It also has no protection from grav hammer and plasma grenade attacks, a real problem against brute hordes.
And as a MBT it has way too many issues to not get slaughtered when pitted against far more sensible designs like a modern Abrams.

don't forget the unique ability of some variants to travel up vertical cliffs
The chasis also saw use as a platform mounting other weaponry. Surface to Air missile pods saw the tank get the designation of the Tarantula, but the lack of point defense between missile barrages saw the variant reverted back to the main gun later in the war
Still a better AA platform than the Rockethog tho
In the game manual for halo 2 it reads crew capacity as two humans or 1 cyborg, considering how badass Spartans are in the lore I can believe it
Modern Russian tanks are fully computerized so I *think* it's possible
I get where you going with this since we would not have 3rd person perspective in real life. If the scorpion really was used in reality i think it would fit more into a mobile weapons platform then MBT.
Hell, even in Halo, imagine how useful it would be if you had someone pointing out targets with a designator, popping smoke when people target you, and coordinating with other elements while the player drove and shot. Like, you would actually have someone telling the Marines where to go instead of just blindly hoping a Grunt with a rocket launcher doesn't pop out of a building and explode you.
@@chris0000924 If your talking about the T-14 Armata, it is not fully computerized. The turret is unmanned but it still needs a crew of 3.
@@TheDemigans Yeah, the developers of Halo did no research what so ever regarding military doctrine or equipment.

@@nahx6205 The issue with having more sets of tracks is that now you need more drive wheels, a more complicated transmission, etc. Doubling up these mechanical parts that will require regular maintenance introduces more parts that could fail and put the vehicle out of action for repairs. When you have access to the M808 main battle tank, aka the Scorpion. Except no substitute.
Maybe they have that many track pods because the tank is just too big to have reliable common dual pods design?
@@zidniafifamani2378 Being that large, a standard track arrangement would be easier and more reliable actually. It would also spread the weight of the vehicle out more improving cross country speed which is the entire point of tracks.

**Sad Tank Noises**
I’m the books and in reality one direct shot from the wraith would reduce the scorpion to molten scrap
The gun would make sense with such calibre if it was a railgun.
@@ANDREALEONE95 cool it's not ( railguns in Halo act and look nothing like the 90mm on the scorpion)
Also it tall and the cannon can be seen a mile away the smaller you are with out loss the Comfort the crew the better

"Oh I like it."
Many people harshly criticize the design of the scorpion tank. Many of the criticisms are valid and reasonable, but they all overlook one thing.
The scorpion tank just looks fucking awesome
Scorpion ready to sting- oh wait wrong game. But the Covenant really got sting.
Something not to dissimilar to the American Tank destroyer doctrine of WW2
So that they could hit there enemy from a concealed position, hopefully kill it and then disengage before they can retaliate in any meaningful way.
I feel like in a conflict against such an advanced opponent with numerical superiority one of they only viable options is to avoid engaging them in a pitched battle.

Tank destroyers?
Gausshog. Just say gausshog. A better tank anyway
in the heat of battle i dont think anyone will give 2 hoots what its called if its covering their arses
@@Romanov117 Plus considering that it seems the UNSC seems to like throwing money at their problems I don't see it much of an issue if adding a 120mm gun on a scorpion would just only increase the price of the tank a little
The MAC Gun from HALO should also be a vid!
You forgot to mention the six pedals
So basically in order to turn the tables WITHOUT the Halo series as we saw it happening we woulda had to make a number of Space an atmospheric craft that was pretty much their versions of THIS tank.. since the ODSTs, some various other infantry types and Spartans pretty much helped have the infantry portion covered
the templin institute is poppin off
Thanks for the tank he never gets me anything.
Oh I know what the ladies like!
Scorpion, ready to..
Oh wait, wrong franchise... :)
A video a day
STREAK: 3
Quality: Epic
Always so much fun with these bad boys
And I still don't know why it has eight pedals when there's only four directions.
Reasons why the Scorpion is a bad tank:
Amazing video as always
You should do the spirit of fire as the next UNSC entry for arsenal
Do Baneblade next
