This is such a treat. Long lost 70's footage. This I think was pretty much the last days of JC playing Alice. I never saw this actor who played Michael but what a difference compared to Lionel Johnson
This was probably 1975. The actor who played my brother was very sweet to work with. And one day, I get to work and Lionel Johnson was hired to play my brother! I was never told ahead of time.
@@arianamuenker Yes, this is definitely 1975. Steve is still alive in Australia, Mary Matthews has recently passed away (hence Pat's suggesting her windowed father move in), and Alice is in process of trying to adopt Sally Spencer. Mary died on March 28, Good Friday of that year, and Steve "died" in May, so this clip is probably from April or May 1975. Michael J. Brown, seen here as Michael, aired from January to June of that year. Thank you so much for the rare uploads!
@@arianamuenker He seems very natural. I know the reasons Harding Lemay gave for why Michael was recast, and Johnston is also good from what I saw of him in later episodes, but I like this actor (Christopher Brown) too.
I don't know if I'm more thrilled for seeing Pat or Original Alice! Beautiful and legendarily Talented actresses! Love seeing Ariana As Well! Even if I always found Pat's Miracle Twins becoming Teenagers at 5 years old Oddly Funny!
@arianatheearlydays767 unreal right? The backstory was that Pat had an abortion in 1964 and became sterile as the result of an infection, however in 1970 they pushed reality and Pat had a Surgery that made it viable for her to conceive again, so she Had the Twins, but they were suddenly Teenagers by 1975! I understand the characters were older than you were at the time though, is that correct Miss Ariana? Not sure if I should address you as "Chase" or "Muenker", also I Adored your Work on Days as Kim and her alters, hopefully you might be able to post something from that period as well?
This is awesome to watch! It’s great to see scenes of AW from the very very height of its popularity and also great to not see Rachel and Mac and their bickering. Harding LeMay at his best.
1975 was such a transitional year for Another World: the expansion to an hour; the firing of a number of long time actors (Mary, Steve, Alice); the shift in focus from old characters and triangles (Steve/Alice/Rachel) to new ones and pairings (Mac/Iris/Rachel). Were you aware at the time of any of the behind the scenes drama that must have been going on?
Thanks, Ariana! Love seeing young Marianne. That's Christopher J. Brown playing Michael. Always a delight to see Jacquie Courtney (Alice).
Thank you for the upload !!
Jackie Courtney as Alice! Amazing clip!
She was exactly that person in real life.
A real beautiful woman !! Jacqueline Courtney was also on one life to live in the early 80's as well..
This is from May 22, 1975.

I'm glad I didn't realize how quickly my character aged;)

Yeah, too much Mac and Rachel in the late 70s -- two characters who were too full of themselves. No wonder they were constantly breaking up.
Ariana I love when you call Beverly “mommy”. So real. All of us kids called our parents mommy and daddy all of our life.

Yes. It was the last great year for AW.
No...since I hadn't been watching the show before I joined, it all seemed new to me and the way it was supposed to be. Ignorance sometimes is bliss!
And 4 more years until the show went to 90 minutes.
I think The show would have gotten more Milage out of Iris if she was Mac's Ex-Wife then his daugher ??
