I adore jinjer. She takes first timers completely by surprise. It's like watching Dora the Explorer become a sith lord.
I love this comment! I wish Dora had become a Sith Lord 😂
"Younglings...Can you Say Younglings? ....Good! Yes. The Younglings!" *Turns on Red Lightsaber...
Jinjer is the name of the band, not the singer. She's called Tatiana.
My band opened for Jinjer a few years ago. As well as being lovely people they absolutely killed it live, and Tatiana's voice is just as good in a small sweaty Birmingham club as in a live session or on record.
Ya lucky duck! I'd love to have had that opportunity! Every time I've seen any member of the band outside a musical context (i.e. interviews, social media...), that is exactly the impression I get - all are as impressive personally as they are musically!
@@gradypatterson1948 yeah we definitely got lucky with that one. I wish I'd got a pic with them. To be honest I'd never heard of them at that point and didn't know they were gonna be a big deal, I just knew they were great.
That must have been an amazing experience. I envy you
I can’t imagine how amazing that must have felt! You should be very proud my dude 😊💪
oh my god Birniingham so spoilt, hopefully we will get her in New Zealand
"It doesn't get old". After watching a couple dozen reactions to this video, I can confirm that it never gets old.
She does have a lot of vocal flavors clean and harsh vocals. I think you would like the Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air, Judgement and Punishment One Take Vocal, I Speak Astronomy and Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv videos. There are also two songs off the same album as Pisces which are short songs, they have the same lyrics which are lines taken from every other song on the album (including Pisces) but are sung and played in completely different styles. Those are Beggars Dance and Prologue. Tatiana is a fan of Gwen Stephani and Amy Winehouse so she often sings in that style.
That makes so much sense now that you have said that 😊
@@SoulSingerDiscovers she also LOVES Brittney Spears. Her screaming inspiration (originally, and with the intention of people not knowing she wasn't a guy) comes from the band Lamb of God (please do Perennial Live at Wacken next/soon)
@@SoulSingerDiscovers if you think her transition is fast in this song; check out the live version of Perennial Live at Wacken because her transitions are even faster. Add to that, the fact that song is the last song in their set.
@@travesty-studios Actually her inspiration for growling came when she heard the band Otep and was told Otep Shamaya was a female
@@jimmorris67 yes. This is what I heard her say in an interview as well. She thought the singer was a guy, found out she was a woman and wanted to confuse people, too, lol.
There's not just one clean singing voice for her, but tons and tons of different styles and colors.
Here the theme of the song is duality, as the name Pisces implies, so she wanted to have a clear contrast between the internal turmoil and the serene facade she has created for the rest of the world.
And in the sense this is representative and not representative at the same time.
Structurally this is unusually simple for Jinjer, most likely because they wanted to emphasize the duality of Pisces and not muddy it with too many different styles and shades between the two.
And yet they made a microcosm of an Opeth song. 😅
Go back and listen to it again and focus on the time signatures. This tune just keeps giving.
Jinjer surprised the shut out of me when I first heard the band. I did a deep dive immediately after and Tatiana is an amazing person and she’s so talented. Check out their song Judgement/Punishment. It’s got a reggae rock vibe to it
I will absolutely! They blew my mind, and Tatianas voice is inhuman 😱😊💪
Yes the one take video is awesome.
Definitely Judgement and Punishment One take and Perrenial
@@SoulSingerDiscovers you will find her "soul voice" in the song Dreadful Moments.
The world of metal is perplexing. I have been a metal head since birth and learned very early that most metal heads are super nice and respectful. It’s almost a catch 22.
I am 63 and have been Jinjer fan for about 5 years. Jinger is a progressive metal. The foundation of a lot of Jinjer songs is jazz. They have also combined reggae with metal. Jinjer is a musical adventure into extreme vocals.
Definitely a fan now 😊💪
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Hello Melisa, there is a band and singer that will not only blow your mind but you will likely have an emotional reaction, the Symphonic Metal band from Finland : Nightwish with their Dutch lead vocalist Floor Jansen who is possibly the best most versatile female vocalist in the world, NW & Floor are the most reacted to band on YT and their masterpiece : Ghost Love Score is the most reacted to Live performance on YT ever with several vocal coach reactors having over 2.5 Million views just from a reaction/analysis of this one song, be prepared the fan base is massive on YT. cheers,

Great reaction! Tatiana is one of the most versatile female singers you will come across... she has a beautiful singing voice, she can growl and her belts are amazing. You should really check out Judgement & Punishment (one take vocal performance). She mixes in a Raggae vibe into it... I think you'll like it too
Sold!! 😊👍 thank you my dude 🌸
Seconded! You will love it.
Speaking about versatile, Floor Jansen ( Nightwish ) is still No. 1. She can growl deep Just Like Tatiana and switch straight to Classic/Opera singing. I Love them booth. 😍
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Your channel is about to blow up. The Jinjer army is coming. We aggressively welcome new people...LMAO
Arch Enemy - handshake with hell \ Unleashed The Archers - Awakening \ Epica - consigne to oblivion. All power women, Greatings 🤘
I used to be a jazz snob. Jinjer became my gateway drug to Metal. Enjoy the ride.
Metal and rock music in general has always had a lot of women that stand as being one of the greats of the time.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Jinjer, Pisces is very much an introduction piece that eases you into their sound (although saying that their sound changes with every song.) the journey is well worth it as everything they seem to do is pure gold. I can honestly say that I have so far not come across a Jinjer track that I didn't like there really is something for every mood. hope you enjoy what you dig up I look forward to what you find
I cannot wait my dude! It’s very exciting 😊💪
The Judgement (& Punishment) One take from Jinjer is amazing.
This song is not all that representative of Jinjer’s sound. They are normally a lot heavier and sometimes brutal, but there is always something interesting going on in both the instrumentation and the vocal. It’s hard to know what to suggest next, but the usual song is Perennial live at Wacken. This shows just how good they are live and Tatiana’s gold jumpsuit is something to behold.
There are a fair few female fronted or all female rock and metal bands around. For example Archenemy, Unleash the Archers, Spirit Box, Conquer/Divide, Plush, The Warning, Liliac and from Japan, Lovebites, Nemophila, Baby Metal and Band Maid.
Someone commented that during some sections of the soft vocals, Tatiana sounds a bit like Brittney Spears, which I thought was a good observation. Check out their live performances in front of an audience ("Perennial" and "Who Is Going to Be the One") are my favorites. The musicianship of the band is off the charts.
I had the same reaction when I first watched this vid! You would almost think she's lip syncing to a track. But then you watch some of their live footage and you see how badass she is. A personal favorite is the official live video for "Who is Gonna Be the One". That song just keeps punching you in the face till the end where there's a little twist.
Oh...also loved the "burn the witch" from Holy Grail insert there.....
The entire band are too tier musicians! Incredible skill, so tight. They don't over-do it but showcase masterful timing, skill and talent all in perfect synchronization!
Tati is a metal goddess! She scares me in the best way! This song has its own reaction channel of people listening to this song for the first time.
Keep in mind several things concerning this song / performance:
1- Tatiana is self-taught in all her styles - she *sounds* very professional, yet she got there entirely on her own talent developed over years of hard work & effort.
2- The song itself is about duality and change - the title "Pisces" is very descriptive. The drastic difference in vocal stylings is intended to represent the multiple aspects of her life that are being described: at times sweet, even shy ... yet that isn't *all* there is to the heroine of the song: she can also be aggressive and can express her pain when "tortured" by "callous men"! Even among those two extremes, there are variations symbolized by the double-time portion and the belting.
{technical talk}
One of the most amazing things about Tatiana's voice (most noticeable in this performance, but present elsewhere) is her ability to develop polytonality in her growl. Growl, by definition, spreads the tonal center into a range rather than a single note, but will have a central frequency (essentially the mid-point of the range): Tatiana has the ability to generate harmonics within her growl so that there are two or even three tonal centers. These are there (but nearly inaudible) for most singers who growl, but Tatiana has the ability to strengthen those harmonic tonal ranges to audibility: even though there is no clear tonal center, she literally harmonizes with herself!
This is what I was hoping someone posted.
Excellent comment. You should have your own reaction/analysis channel!
I will never get tired of seeing people spend a good 15-20 seconds with their mouth opened at the first chorus of this song.
"If you had the colors of the rainbow to paint with, why would you choose beige, why?" Perfect. I hope you don't mind me quoting that line.
Use it wisely my dude 😂💪
Another thing that stands out about them is, how good they are in person. It could probably be said that they were forged into something special from a decade of heavy touring.
There is a full concert or two on youtube. The one in Melbourne is fantastic. Also anything from Waken Open Air.
Beige!!
Lolshizz yer killin me
Jinjer has a huge range of musical capabilities..
For you, I'd suggest you try "I Speak Astronomy", going back a handful of years... you'll see where they're coming from, and then work forward to Home Back ... you'll enjoy the dynamics in their music.
"Pisces (i.e latin for fishes) swimming through the river
All their life against the stream
Searching for a hook to catch on..." these lyrics are simply amazing and filled with so much double meaning...
"Why would you choose beige?" I've never thought of it like that haha that's great. Tatiana is awesome and super humble :) and your interpretation of the song is really, really close! It's about duality like you said, but Pisces are the two fish in the Zodiac 🍻
Loooove this! I’m sad it’s not about mermaids but this is still amazing 🤩😂👍
@@SoulSingerDiscovers The whole structure of the song is permeated with this dualism. And if you look closely, even in her ears have a reference to fish.
A couple years back, Elizabeth at the Charismatic Voice channel (she's an opera singer) did an interview with Tatiana.. tea time with Tati.. really great, relaxed interview and they go into her vocals and origins of the band.
They're Ukrainian.. Tati writes first in Russian then translates it to English.. Vocally and linguistically, she's a force to be reckoned with.
Not all reactors catch that non-beige tasty little down scale and you did.. Kudos.
I don't know where it's coming from but your duck is cool.
Thank you my dude! I’m looking forward to more Jinjer and other voices! 😊💪🌸
@@SoulSingerDiscovers No prob. I'd have replied earlier but YT isn't sending me notifications of replies anymore.. which is screwing everyone's interaction numbers, I imagine. I did get the "hearted" notification.
Nice comment. I was hoping someone would recommend that interview, since it really dives deep into Tatiana’s techniques. Funnily though, Tati has no clue how she does it.
@@ericpeterson7512 I really like how low key and relaxed it is.. not the tension of a standard interview.
I fell in love with this band a few years ago and have seen them live twice now. They deserve a place among the greats in rock music, not only because of Tatiana’s amazing vocals, but also the cohesive creativity and complexity of their music as a whole - intriguing rhythms, haunting melodies and harmonies, meaningful lyrics. They are all impressive.
I agree 100%. I’m a new fan, just got into Jinjer a few months ago. But I’ve already seen them once live, and just bought my tickets to see them again in August. Twice in one year for a band i just discovered is a good indicator. It was love at first listen for me. I’ve been playing bass and singing professionally for over 45 years, and I’ve been going to rock concerts longer than that. I’ve seen Rush 36x live, and consider them the pinnacle of live bands. These guys had the same kind of impact on me when i first heard them as Rush. Highest compliment i can think of. Rush revolutionized my whole life in 1977.
Jinjer absolutely deserves a place among the greats of rock, for all the reasons you noted. They’re like a classical ensemble of metal. Their tightness and intricacy are classical to me. Tatiana’s voice is one of the instruments. Their live performances are incredibly tight technically, yet don’t lose any of the feel. I hope and pray they can keep it up for a long time!
Hey Melissa, she is using something known as a false-fold technique and the "Queen of Scream," Melissa Cross is one of the best known teachers of this technique. So glad you enjoyed this and keep doing what YOU do!
Yep! And I interviewed Melissa Cross on my channel a while back. You should check it out 😊
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Absolutely! Thank you.
Hahaha! As you were saying you were not impressed with Tatiana I thought:"You might regret those words."😁, 🤣😂🤣😂Great stuff again, Melisa. Hope you get to TOOL soon.🤘👍
Thank you my dude! 😊 oh don’t worry I’ve been told by a few on pain of death that TOOL needs to be done. I’ll get there 😊💪
@@SoulSingerDiscovers yeah....about that.🤔Sorry for those freaks who take it too far. On the other hand I completely understand them. That band truly is special. Keep up the great work!🥃
The way Tati sings her cleans here is particular. At the end, we have a glimpse of what else she can do cleanwise (her belting). The same goes for the harsh vocals: she is amazing from screaming to growling. Check "Home back", for instance, or "Pit of consciousness - live in Kiev".
I have watched thousands of Jinjer reactions at this point. Hell, a reaction 4 years ago is how I learned about them, and also learned something about myself; I don’t have to be stuck listening to the music I listened to in the 90’s. I rarely sub to reaction channels though. But you got me. I laughed out loud several times during this. I was horned into fundamentalist Christianity. I finally got out in my 30’s. Now I’m a 50 year old man that can’t get enough of irreverent, blasphemous humor. That apology to Christian’s made me happy. So thank you! And please, more Jinjer with humor ❤
She's not opening up space at the back of her mouth as such. She's opening her throat and connecting all that space to the shape of her mouth. In harsh vocals it is called "tunnel throat" and you are are quite literally aligning all of your mechanism over the top of what is essentially a well you can draw sound from or create resonance through. At times you can see her change her posture or her head position. If you open your throat and tilt your head you can create more resonance because all the air is travelling up the well and into your mouth and the pocket of your cheek. It is a trick that throat singers can use as well.
Pisces is the best candidate to get introduced to Jinjer, in my opinion. Now that you’ve seen them in a studio, other songs add more different things. Judgement and Punishment is awesome to see better how Tati does what she does. Teacher Teacher is a good live (crowd interaction) next step. And there are other good choices for next steps down her rabbit hole.
It isn't just impressive that she can do the low growls like that its the expressiveness in how she uses it. In this song, for example, at the end she is doing the growls and then the screams at the end. In the song Perennial the way she uses her growls and screams is very intentional. So its basically how she utilizes the growls and screams that makes it even more impressive.
You have just scratched the surface of Jinjer please do more Jinjer reactions I think you will love some of their older stuff just as much as the new if not more!!!! Can’t wait to see your reactions!!!!
One of my favorite hobbies is watching reactions to Jinjer, I really love the band, but the reactions are incredible.
They are so good 😊❤️
I always love songs that mix melodic vocals and heavy vocals due to the increased contrast involved.. with the heavy vocals coming in for the heavier parts of the song. You could think of the melodic sections as being in cruise mode.. a trance that builds anticipation, which then makes the heavy bits even more impactful.
Another good example is something like: My Dying Bride - She is the Dark
Yep, this is a fair representation of Jinjer, but you need to them in a live setting, Perennial live at Wacken 2019 is so good, Tati displays her vocal range as well as her growls, the entire band are top tier musicians, great reaction, love how straight forward and honest you are!
Thank you James! I’m looking forward to the little adventure I’m on 😊💪
Ha! The miscued quack for the ducking impressive, nice touch!
Hearing an Irish person say "Jesus" might be on the top 10 things I love to hear.
Lol the holy grail of reactions eventually shows up on every channel 😂😂🤘🤘. jinjer live stuff is great....jinjer is proggy djenty groove metal with complex time signature maze and multi-genre influences. Tati is a vocal chameleon with different forms of cleans, growls and screams in her bag....she uses both false chord screaming and vocal fry technique for different situations. All 4 musicians are technical masters at their craft.
It’s all feckin glorious 😊💪
@@SoulSingerDiscovers fookin right 😂😂 (i'm neither Irish or scottish just messin around 🤣🤣)
@@davidjames6036 everyone is a little bit Scottish and Irish 😂🏴💪
“Who Is Gonna Be The One” live (not at the Wacken concert) might be worth looking at 👍🏼✌🏼
good call, I don't usually recommend it to people who are new to metal because it mostly focuses on growls, but yeah that's a great recommendation here!
The most surprising thing about her growls I thought of the first time I heard her was the clarity of her words. It's so easy to lose wen doing false vocals
Judgement and punishment one take performance by her is a must watch
And have you been promised too much? I'm glad you liked it and nice reaction!
I find what's impressive about this vocal performance is not only what extreme vocals she pulls off, but how easily she can switch between extreme and clean.
I highly recommend Sit, Stay, Roll Over if you want high energy harsh vocals. It's literally the song that got them signed to Napalm Records. \m/
Yessss!! Yes!! So glad you liked them!! Love Jinjer, will be seen them for the 3rd time love this September. All of their music is phenomenal
Definitely doing more Jinjer 😊💪
"All the colours in the world to choose from, why choose beige?"
I almost couldn't see your samples against your tartan :)
A lot of people will recommend you listen to Perennial from them, but that song is just another ballad with only a small sprinkling of growls. I think "Home Back" would be more along the lines of what you're looking for. They are Ukrainian, and it's a song about the war in Ukraine. She gives us a huge helping of growls, snarls, and screams. At one point she drops a growl so low that she has to end it with a literal "Blegh!" And what's more, the song is set to a bossa nova rhythm
if you want to hear them live, check out "JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) | Napalm Records" where she is switching mid sentence several times. another live one would be "JINJER - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) | Napalm Records" where she has some of her lowest growls ... and a kinda surprise at the end
The Charismatic Voice had a one on one with her, Tea time with
It's representative of them in the sense of you are going to hear something different every single time from them! She has serious pipes. She literally can and has done anything she wants in a song. World class musicians, each one them. All hail Queen Tati!!
How have you not reacted to Dimash Kudaibergen yet! Talking about merging genres in one of -if not THE- best voices you have heard ever in your life. You will be in SHOCK!!!
I love how dynamic her range is.
Just found your channel, liked and sub'd. Great and entertaining reaction. You've just discovered the very tippy top of the tip of the Jinjer iceberg. They (Tatiana on vocals, Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass, and Vlad on drums) are all fantastic individually, but together are on another level of great. Unlike a lot of bands in general, Jinjer might actually sound better live than in studio in my opinion. I'd recommend Perennial live at Wacken 2019 as a follow-up...you won't disappointed. BTW...never heard the saying "dull as dish water" before, gonna have to try and use that someday. More Jinjer please and thank you! 🍻🤘
Hello! And welcome my dude! Thank you for subbing l ❤️ I am very excited to hear more because I was truly not ready, what a voice. Great song. Thank you for the suggestions. Also, you’re welcome, dull as dishwasher is a fav, I bequeath it to you! 😂😊🌸
Don't worry about Jinjer being boring. Most of their stuff is heavier than Pisces, and is often more complex.
Welcome the Jinjer rabbit hole. Keep diggin', it only gets better!
This band has been influenced by so many genres, you never know what to expect. They pull all of it off beautifully! As I'm sure all of the regulars are aware, Teacher, Teacher (official video) is my personal fav, but they don't really have a bad song. Enjoy the ride!
I will 😊💪
This song is thier basic entry song to thier stuff, and, although it's a great song, they have some WAAAAAYYYY better, but less accessible tracks.
I would suggest looking up perennial (live at wacken), vortex, sit stay roll over, judgement and punishment, and teacher teacher....f%@k it, any of thier back catalogue...
Awesome reaction. Keep it up.
I’ll check it out! Thank you my dude 😊🌸
Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole! You next need to react to “JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019)”
Found you through your Iron Maiden reaction and it's cool to see you doing Jinjer. Having found them a few months ago I'm late to the Jinjer party I guess, not usually a huge metal guy especially the more extreme stuff, but I've consumed their whole back catalogue in that time, lol. They've technically been around since 2009 (with some line-up changes), but a lot of that time was spent grinding away gigging constantly in relative obscurity in and around Ukraine until they got signed by Napalm Records in 2016 (also when this song was first released).
Most of their stuff is heavier (sometimes substantially so), and more recently also more experimental and proggy. Tatiana's lyrics are also generally really good, especially considering she's not writing in her native language. I think you got the gist of the lyrics here, although it's based on the two fish in the Pisces zodiac sign, the theme of duality is what you said as far as I can tell - and probably informs the vocal choices made in this song.
Jinjer relies a lot on RUclips for their promotion, so you'll probably get bombarded with requests. I'd say Perennial (live at Waken) is probably a good next track, as its very well mixed for a live performance and you get to see them properly live. The Judgement and Punishment one take is probably good from a vocalist's perspective, as its all Tatiana on her own in a studio singing to the backing track, but they're very much a 'live band' sort of act so my vote would be Perennial.
Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev) and Who is Gonna be the One (live) are also good live videos and generally 'growlier'.
Just started watching but I can imagine the reaction :D edit: You should definitely listen to some Greta Van Fleet. Start with 'Highway Tune' and get ready to be amazed.
I think Tati is one of the most versatile and powerful vocalists out there, especially in metal. She is a goddess!
I agree 😊💪
Ahhh that beautiful reaction. I never get tiered of seeing people react to this.
It’s so good 😊
I really love freak out reactions to this song 😂
If you want just the chorus of "Pisces" for almost an entire song, do "Who Is Gonna Be the One?" live. Sooooo good and uses much more of her growl throughout the song.
And it ends with a Jamaican holiday.
check out Arch enemy - handshake with hell next if you liked this one ;)
Welcome to the amazing world of Jinjer!!
I love how the sound effects are always late on her cussing. What a potty mouth. This was hysterical!😂😂😂😂
Yeah I realised after they fact and then it was too late. But I kinda like the late duck now 😂
I kinda wondered if it was deliberate or not. I was hoping it was deliberate because l thought it was comedic genius.
Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (Live @ Sonic Pump)
A representation? Just a drop in the bucket of talent, across the entire band.
Another Jen Jer song is perennial live, teacher teacher, vortex, I speak astronomy. All awesome
The extreme between the sweet and the harsh vocals is intended to show the duality of Pisces
A refreshing reaction to the song and band I watched the first reaction on RUclips ever. I now know I needed a reaction that could finally nicely surprise me again and I can tell I watched every damn reaction to Tatiana's Pisces duality. This was refreshing and fully satisfying. Well done Melisa Kelly!
I would recommend a new reaction of yours to Tatjana's one-take video many of us are gonna suggest you down below... - Spoiler: there's a cat in that video!
Thank you so much Davide! I appreciate it. Don’t you worry more Jinjer to come 😊🌸💪
If there is a band that can bring people into different genres of music new to them it’s Jinjer.Their versatility and complexities of their music and songs will keep you on edge.See Tatiana at her best on stage with Pit of Consciousness live Kiev.Your reaction to the band and Tatiana was refreshing. If your soul music is getting dull you may make a good harsh vocalist .Tatiana is self taught only took her a few years lol and she’s been at it about 15 years but you are young
You have barely scratched the surface of Jinjer they have so much more to offer than the ones you have reacted to. Such as Ape, cloud factory and pit of consciousness or scissors
Her clean vocals on this reminds me of old Brittney Spears. And I live Tatiana and Jinjer but MY personal favorite is Courtney Laplante of Spiritbox. She can sing clean and melodic, but she has different pitches to her growls AND she can be screaming or growling her words and mid word and even every other word she'll go growl, clear singing, growl, clear signing. It's unreal how she does it and so unique. It sounds amazing. Alot of the voice coaches and singers can't figure out how she does it. Especially in the Live One take's she does. It's back and forth, back and forth. It's way better than most male metal vocalists out there.
So you definitely should check out "Spiritbox - Circle With Me - Courtney Laplante Live One Take"
Its just her in a studio singing live over her bands song and she kills it. Rocking back and forth like she's about to beat the sh*t out of the microphone haha
Love this comment 😊❤️
From my perspective, this was absolutely hilarious to watch. I've seen dozens if not hundreds of reactions to this Jinjer video but yours is one of very, very few where I've seen a singer's universe instantly expand. Tatiana is an amazingly talented singer (and the rest of the band is similarly immensely talented), but she isn't the only female growler out there. It's an exciting time, to be sure, as we see more and more inclusion and diverse talents contributing to metal music. IMO the genre is and has been growing and evolving particularly well the past 20 years; I look forward to the next 20.
Oh, and you got a Sub for the honest reaction and the fun video you created around it. You totally fucking rock!
EDIT: Hey, as a soul singer, I'd be interested in your reaction to Lee Fields singing his song Wish You Were Here - ruclips.net/video/W3rIA-BCZ0E/видео.html
Thank you so much! I appreciate that! I’m really hyped about the journey! And thank you for the suggestions. It all helps 😊💪🌸
This song is barely the tip of the Jinjer, and Tatiana, iceberg. They are an enormously talented and creative bunch with a lot of stylistic range.
"If you had the colours of the rainbow to paint with, why would you choose beige?"
> Looks at her background wallpaper
*Hmmmmm*
What the grey tartan wallpaper picked by the only metal head in my house which isn’t me? You’re right I have never like that wallpaper 😂
Hi! Great reaction! I'm looking forward to what's to come! Especially, I'd like to suggest the very classic 'Nightwish - Ghost Love Score' Live at Wacken 2013. It's a gem for singers to react, and I'm curious about your thoughts on it! Keep them coming, and thank you again for this one!
Nightwish are on my list so thank you for the suggestion! And the kind words 😊🌸
Such an awesome band. The drummer Vlad Ulasevich is the musical genius in the band and Tatiana Shmailyuk is the lyrical genius.
Check out Vlad playing the piano, playing Rachmaninov's Prelude in C# minor (Op. 3 No. 2). Also react to Judgement & Punishment (one take vocal performance), it's great for your vocal analysis.
Will do 😊💪
I think after the obligatory "Perennial, live at Wacken" you are ready for the official video of "I speak Astronomy", my favorite Jinjer song. Although "Pisces" is definitely the best introduction, because of the shock value!
You most likely will appreciate "Arch Enemy -handshake with hell" as well 😂
You're going to love this band the more you hear from them! Fun fact: this is the current lineup's least favorite song
Oh wow! I’ll need to do some more digging 😊👍
I’m not sure if any song is a fair representation of JinJer as they are all so different but still so JinJer. Everything, every one of them does is just awesome. Even their videos are tops. I actually love the tone in Tatianna’s melodic voice. So much so that I would probably buy an album of Christmas music if she released one.
Same! Tatiana singing Santa Claus is coming to town. Take my money 😂
Aw hayull yeah! Switching from clean to harsh mid-line in Christmas songs?! YES! Brilliant idea! I’m working on an album of Christmas songs in different styles, and now I’m gonna have to rethink some of those songs…!!
Aww, this was fun. You're fun. I loved how fast you got from meh to worship ,XD
Jinjer is a gold mine, especially for people like you that are able to appreciate the technical and musical aspect.
Looking fwd to, I guess, Perennial LIVE at Wacken 2019.
Thank you Tomislav! I appreciate it! I’m looking forward to all the things I’m going to discover 😊💪
"Why would you choose... _beige._ Why? UGHH." Says the woman with the beige wallpaper behind her. 😂
It’s grey, Helen 😂 also I did not choose it sooooo 🤷♀️
Believe it or not I think you still picked up the vibe with the melodic vocal part being relaxed the song is about duality and building intensity, if you'll notice even the "relaxed" vocals build intense through the sections as well, Im going to suggest to really see the whole of her really singing the song "I speak astronomy" the hellfest from home performance and the one take performance of "judgement and punishment" you'll fall in love with all the styles she can sing
11:58 - Since no one has mentioned it yet, they're ukrainian, from the eastern part where the russian aggression is currently taking place. That region has lots of russian influences (Tatiana's first language is Russian, then Ukrainian and English is only her third language) and she grew up surrounded by the traditional slavic culture and all its roots, so it's no wonder that trait is present in her singing style. However, she has lots of western influences, like Jazz, RNB, Mexican traditional music, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Rock and Metal but she incorporates them in her singing style differently from a westerner. I've watched all the reactions to this song since the video came out and so far only two people noticed that "eastern" style descent/scale: you and Beth Roars. 👍
Thank you for this! It’s really fascinating how different cultures approach melody, and I did not know about her background 😊🌸 wonderful comment!
@@SoulSingerDiscovers I would also add (as an interesting point) that Tatiana is ethnically a Crimean Tatar.
@@davidbroz6755 - Yes but unfortunately, due to Stalin's russification of Crimea in the 1940's and consequent deportation of all Tatars and destruction of their culture, I don't think even her parents were brought up in the Crimean Tatar traditions and culture.
You need to watch Sit, Stay, Rollover. Exactly what you’re looking for…
More of the jinjer! Also unleash the archers!
Pisces is one of their slower songs. It fits the lyrics which are talking about the dual personality of pisces astrological sign. This the lyrics about Neptune etc. Tatiana has a ton of vocal flavors. She fits the vocal to the intent of the song. They are AMAZING live!!!!
She’s incredible 😊❤️
Most of their music is faster and more aggressive with melodic breaks. You can also find some jazz/reggae and even rap influences in Tati's vocals. It is a very interesting band and they've quickly become one of my favorites.
Great reaction! Watching first time reactions to Pisces is a great source of entertainment for me!
Glad you enjoyed😊
She’s got about 17 other voices, and the band are all masters. Very progressive and many different styles.
Tatiana is one of the best female metal singers. She's extremely versatile and she can change from sweet clean singing to false vocal fry on a blink.
Displays of her vocal technique are "Judgement and Punishment (vocal one take)", "Perennial (live at Wacken)" and "Teacher, Teacher"
Ooooh yeah, Perennial is one of my favs, the lyrics are massive.....
