@@Killermcknight Hi man! Can you please show your GF some Epica? 🙂 Don't tell her anything about vocals, etc. I've got a more radio-friendly song for you. It's from 2012, no operatic vocals, just normal chest voice from Simone, but still a beautiful song. Not too long, great catchy melody and really cool video (Simone said it was her dirtiest but most fun filming ever). EPICA - Storm the Sorrow (Official video) If you'd like to do even cooler reaction, you can also react (in the same reaction video) also to the acoustic version of the same song which is from Pinkpop 2014. That would show both of you how great musicians they are because not everyone can convert metal song into a great acoustic (jazzy/swingy) version. 😉
You could see that she was expecting it to get heavy at some point but her eyes still went wide at "the bit". Great reaction, more genuine than a lot that i have seen.
Thank you so much. Yeah, I’ve been trying to squeeze this one and RUclips was the perfect excuse since she makes me check out all these non-metal bands/artists I told her we have to do this one.
First time reactions to Jinjer, specifically Tatiana, the ultimate metal vocal goddess, never get old! Regarding your mention of the styles of music Tatiana likes/listens to, all the members of Jinjer appreciate and listen to other genres of music (the drummer, Vlad, studied classical piano before learning drums) and I think that's a primary factor why their songwriting is so strong. I've been a musician since I was a kid and I've played in multiple bands over the years in various genres. Whenever I met a musician who only listened to one style music, right or wrong I would automatically assume that they were limited someway in their approach to playing and/or writing music because of their narrow scope of influence and many times that was true. They may be technical wizards, but if they play/write using the same scales/phrasing/rhythms on every song, it can be boring.

Also my daughter, who's musically adept (but not a metal fan), absolutely refused to listen to any Jinjer until one day she let me play for her in the car the 4 tracks from Wallflowers starting with Sleep of The Righteous, and her musical self appreciated it and was blown away🤘🏼
I’ll probably never get tired of reactions to this one and I’ve been watching them for a year or two. Tatiana has a beautiful “clean” voice and sounds like a demon when she growls. Wonderful 😊
@@Killermcknight Now just go imagine if Tati/Jinjer were somehow to cooperate creatively with Ren. I have no idea how that could work, but if did the universe would just have to go into another big bang straight away 😆
Honestly I never had "that moment" with Jinjer. When I found them I already was into Arch Enemy, so I knew that women can do that. My first Jinjer song was Sit stay roll over and I only discovered Pisces way later and it was definetely a great song but it's potential for blowing minds didn't appear to me at all. Once I did realize, watching first reactions became a big hobby :)
I grew up with metalcore and at that point I was listening to extreme metal with vocals that sounds like actual animals lmao, but I still got impressed by Tatiana. Yes I knew women could scream, I had seen it before, but her level was just above anyone else's. But also the band... Man... I'm kinda glad that it took me a while to find out about them, because I was able to appreciate all the little details about their music even more, it is SO well crafted, I still haven't dug deep into their discography yet cause I'm scared that song is unique and I'm gonna be craving for more of that
@@rubemevangelista3868 It’s unique, but in the best way. Every song of theirs has something different about it that confiscates the attention and makes you appreciate everything the band as a whole brings to the table. Listen to a few other songs of theirs. You will not regret it. I would personally recommend “I Speak Astronomy” if you aren’t already familiar with it.
Everyone needs that one song that hooks them, seems like this is her hook. Once you're hooked there is no turning back. It might not be today or tomorrow or even next year but eventually you'll find yourself headbanging to Gorgoroth like it's nothing.
For me it was Soad, Slipknot and Otep and Opeth that got me into a space where I could enjoy extreme vocals on different levels. I believe Jinjer are the band of this generation that have done this🤘🤘🤘. Long live music🤘🤘🤘
OK, up front: I've always HATED screamo vocals. Then there was Jinjer. Even this song, which is one of their most mellow tracks, I refused to like it for the first however many times I heard it. Screamo = blegh, don't like. Then I started :LISTENING to it. All of a sudden, the screamo was nothing but a background sound, and the groove & melody came out as the main focus of this band. Fast forward a few years, and "Sit Stay Rollover" (arguably one of their heaviest tracks) is now one of my favourite tracks of all time. I would never have admitted to that a year or two ago. This band rocks!
Don’t forget the Jazz and Otep influence in Jinjer. There are many talented front women in metal, Infected Rain is another group you might want to look at.

I will never get tired of watching people react to this. Absolutely catch them in concert if you can. Amazing show. Hoping to catch them again this year. They are opening for Disturbed on their tour.
Thanks for this reaction, it's always fun to see. Well, you know Babymetal, Babymetal has been a gateway into metal for many people, so maybe a Babymetal reaction is in order. Something like Road of Resistance live or Karate MV might be a good choice.

I never miss a show if they are close enough to go. By far my absolute favorite modern day band. I bought insanely expensive tix for this summer's tour with Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin... but only to go see Jinjer. It is nice to see them finally get respect and tour with bigger bands and play large venues, but I am going to miss the days of going to see Jinjer with under 1000 of us in the entire venue.
