Though you will likely never see this, thank you Andrew for being so incredibly open. This video has materialized a lot of my own thoughts and feelings. It's awesome to see how you deal with fear and how it can be turned into something powerful and meaningful. I'll be picking up a copy of your book right away!
I can relate to Andrew McCarthy and his travel feelings of finding home. I have travelled on cruises, and done european tours, but the best vacations I've had are the fly and drive road trips with a general destination, a great map, and an open heart. We've taken many road trips in our RV, and everywhere we arrive, we open ourselves to whatever each place has in store for us. We enjoy talking to locals and feeling that connection. We soak it all in! Hit the nail on the head Andrew!
I agree with what he said about asking for help & that americans should travel more. I'll never regret my financially illogical trip to Japan & how I never before felt really at home than when I stood on that windy mountain shrine & got lost in the bamboo forest only to have a local person help me back. But..I also think that true happiness is shared, the only thing that would've made that trip better was to have my loved one see it with me. Cause it was lonely too. I just didn't know them yet.
A. McCarthy, I would like all the men I know to be as self-aware, as emotionally present and vulnerable as you. I can only imagine them saying they yearn for connection! And the part in the book about showing up is true for all people everywhere, but most just don't have the concept, let alone the words. Thank you for sharing your Journey and your journeys.
I can relate. In order to fully appreciate some things, such as love, you have grow a little bit, seperate yourself and find yourself and then come back to it. And face your fears.

An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience; it may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain..
The main cost of travel is the oil. Once we find another efficient way to travel, it will be much cheaper!
