LFG; Being in a saddle for the first time feels sketchy. Proceeds to put a folding step ladder on top of the roof of a side by side to cut tree branches. 🤣
I Laughed so hard when LFG was talking about the voice in his head and proceeded to put a ladder on the ATV. the videos of what he sees are amazing. Love this channel!!!
You're videos all of them fishing hunting camping whatever you explain you teach what you know and you admit when you don't win most hunters only post videos when they kill most fishing folks only post big fish I appreciate you and the few others who post when you don't but you learn stuff we all go out and don't kill animals or don't catch trophy fish it's relatable to any real outdoor people we've all been there and most of us like learning
This is my fifth season saddle hunting, third season rappelling out of the tree, and first season using 100% rope methods to climb. Looks like you've got your kit all setup for SRT climbing! Here's a tip for you: Always carry extra paracord! You never know when you're gonna setup in a super sweet tree and want to come back to it. A paracord loop makes quick work of getting your rope in the tree to SRT climb. I've got presets scattered all over National Forest in my favorite/most frequented spots.
I've been looking / considering a saddle for the past 2 years. I have enjoyed your videos for quite a while. Your editing, camera angles, video quality and music overlays have come a long way. Keep up the great work. I look forward to always seeing a new video come out.
I just bought a saddle and had my first sit….at first I thought it was awful but after about an hour of adjusting mine and adjusting tether and bridges lengths and I got really comfortable….mines the xop saddle combo great for the price for just trying it out
I picked up saddle hunting last year, and currently run the Tethrd Phantom myself. I couldn't tell, but one thing would be kneepads. They help if you bring yourself in close to the tree into a sitting position. Other than that good luck
Saddle hunting is a blast. It leaves us so versatile to go just about any where we want. Just need a tree big enough to hold you and game on. Still trying to get my first out of my saddle also. GOOD LUCK Justin and be safe brother.
I have had back surgery so sitting for long periods of time is rough. I can stand or lean all day though. Saddle hunting lends itself to this very nicely. Cool vid
Started saddle hunting this year myself and enjoy it a ton…much more comfortable for long or all day sits but after a few months practice and then using it this bow season I went from climbing back down sticks to rappelling and that made all the difference for me
The point of a saddle is that it is portable and easy to use in random spots… if you know where you’re going to use it (eg: right next to the feeder) just put up a stand.
Great video again LFG. I'd love to see a collaboration with you and the boys over at Seek One. Your guys videos, hunting style and morals are aligned. It would be awesome to see what you all could get into.
My saddle tips….it was hard to tell but I think your tether is a little low(usually put mine around the tree at about eye level. And then you definitely need to get a back band which tethrd calls the recliner, and a pad to go around the tree for your knees. And if you feel your hips are getting pinched a little, shorten the bridge a few inches and it will relieve that pressure. Good luck LFG!!
Been saddle hunting a few seasons now. Its not as quick, easy, quiet, and comfortable as just going up a ladder and into a tree stand. You need to plan extra time for getting up and down for each hunt. I would also strongly suggest you do not leave your tether/climbing ropes out in the tree. Getting wet and being exposed to the elements is a recipe for a rope failure and injury. Remember, your life is attached to that rope. Dont do anything to compromise its integrity.
We have it easy in the public woods in South Carolina, one you’re allowed to leave a stand if you want it’s just first come first serve. Also our woods are full of tall straight pines that are perfect for climber stands
I climb trees and cut them down for a living in Tennessee. We have a lot of tall trees and that voice is always in my head. I have fell out of one tree in ten years about 30 feet wasn't great but the rope did its job and caught me before hitting the ground.
I was a little afraid to trust the gear too. I rock climb and always liked the heights but trusting the gear can be scary. You just gotta get some experience and it'll get better. Learn to rappel too. it could get you out of some hairy situations.
I concur. I hunted a WMA in Florida that had free ranging cattle. The cover was thick so you couldn't really see more than a hundred yards. Set up in a great spot and an hour later the here she comes, at first I was like hmm this is a weird place for a cow. Then she called out and here come the rest of those dumbasses that I couldn't see, like 20 head just meandering around my stand. At first it was funny until you get back to the truck and something similar happened to the guys I was with, we couldn't get away from the cattle the whole weekend.
Once you learn to trust ur gear then it gets to be super fun.. just wait till you're in a tree the width of ur leg or arm .. it's awesome but don't be afraid to try out different saddles thethrd is good but latitude/cruzrs are great too
Sticks would be a hell of a lot easier, even in a crooked tree. You don't have to start at the ground. Climb up on that lower limb and then start hanging em. That's the beauty of those mini sticks
I've only ever hunted from ground level, unless you count the bed of a ute. Seems odd, but at the same time it makes a lot of sense. Would climbing spikes help or be a hindrance in the tree?
1st time I've come into a LFG video that had zero views showing. 😂 Quite imagine someone is watching at the same time or started slightly before me, but still...😂 Have never hunted from a saddle but imagine it would be hard for me to shoot a bow with both my legs and arms wrapped tightly around a tree trunk. I think I'd be that afraid. GOD bless.
How's that BUX thermal? Mine comes in Wednesday with another sweatshirt you were wearing lol. Really appreciate the work you do. Also really love how you, Flair, and others pass on the shot when the faun is there. Much respect, God bless you and your family 🙏
You want to be careful climbing those trees, I’m not sure if you’re using climbing spikes, definitely want to use a lanyard to keep you from falling out of the tree.
They are on their feet all day long for the last 5 days here in NC. They are full puffed necks and chasing in Ohio my brother killed his target buck 2 nights ago at 3:30 pm. They will be moving there soon for sure.
Lol lol!!! LFG. Damn you can be funny. That made me laugh so hard. SKETCHY SH$T. LFG. This video was really blurry. Was it my connection or was it made this way?. I need to know...
I could never have open pens or open feeders with cattle around! Surprised y’all do just with pigs, I don’t hunt cattle properties but we pen feeders to deter hogs!
@@cray-z7404 I use a larger width crossbow Excalibur so with that the limbs hit the side of the tree very often. I'm sure if I went with a smaller front ended crossbow there wouldn't much of an issue. Also not sure guy my size being a bigger dude weight wise it would even be comfortable for me as well.

There’s something about LFG hunting videos that just make them some of the best hunting videos I’ve seen

Saddle hunting is where it's at. I love the fact I can pack it in a back pack and get in sketchy trees where there's no good tree for regular stands.
I have doing a saddle in hunting arsenal for the last 2 years. Get the suspenders, and the back support.
Loving the new hunting streak. Gettin after it
I love your bow hunting, camping, and processing videos. Very enjoyable and knowledgeable. Keep this shit up lol

Your hunting videos are some of my favorite to watch!
Dang Bubba, don't let OSG see this or she is fixing to put an end your hunting adventures! LOL

I've been saddle hunting for 10+ yrs.... the only way I hunt.... welcome to the tree saddle game. Its lots of fun.
The point of a saddle is that it is portable and easy to use in random spots… if you know where you’re going to use it (eg: right next to the feeder) just put up a stand.
I stopped climbing trees when I was 10 years old! I fell of and broke my back! Not a fun experience! More power to you and anyone who wants to try it!
Great video again LFG. I'd love to see a collaboration with you and the boys over at Seek One. Your guys videos, hunting style and morals are aligned. It would be awesome to see what you all could get into.
It takes some getting used too. Keep at it, you got this.

I second this advice

Glad to hear about the October deal. Deer on my property just vanished.
Right on Brother, cant wait to see you bag a Saddle Buck/Doe. Cheers 👊🏼😎🤙🏼🍻
I truly loved this video!!

LFG, is becoming a regular Jackie Bushman with his hunting intros 😂
LFG, those aren't cattle, those are what is known as is Slow Elk. LOL
Awesome stuff! Might have to look into a saddle some day….
I have enjoyed your videos for quite a while. Your editing, camera angles, video quality and music overlays have come a long way.
Get you a pole saw brother, it's a lot less sketchy lol
Maybe grab a pole saw to keep out at the lease? Seems it would get plenty of use.
Why not take the lid off the feeder and stand inside it on something or is that not allowed?
That's an awesome idea. Bigger barrel with a floor, corn on the bottom hunter on top. Shooting deer in a barrel 🤣
love your videos an i been looking into saddlee hunting , just want to wait until some deal start on them
Awesome video, wish I was there 🎃👻👍🏼🇺🇸 Happy Halloween Emmy , little Ben, and that sweet Boss lady 😊❤🌹🤙🏻
Felt like you were about to be on “EPIC FAILS, don’t do this at home” videos on top of the side by side 🤣
The more you use it the better you’ll love in love with it

"You ever had that little voice in your head". That's the voice young men haven't developed.
“Doing some scouting” how do you scout a feeder lol
Love your channel keep up the great work

I hate hunting on cow pastures, cows are the worst! That saddle’s legit, if you get sticks check out the Skeletors 👌🏽

Shot my biggest buck from a saddle last season. It was also the first deer I shot from a saddle.
Definitely well hidden in the sketchy tree where you shot the ground! Shadows were perfect for whatever time of day you were out there.

Get the tree lounge strap from Tethrd it makes a huge difference
Looks like fun you can get up just about anywhere you want that will work out for you I'm sure
Not far north of you, but just a bit SE I believe their could be some promising type 2 near Jacksonville, Henderson are.
Just watched the video. Saddle hunting is a new thing for me as well. You said you were in central Texas? Where about? I’m from Coryell county.
I've only ever hunted from ground level, unless you count the bed of a ute. Seems odd, but at the same time it makes a lot of sense.
Would climbing spikes help or be a hindrance in the tree?
LFG EVER SINCE YOU BROKE YOUR HOMEMADE BOW ITS BEEN DOWN HILL SINCE THEN BUT WHO KNOW GOOD LUCK THO LOVE THE VIDEO......
any way you could tell me what your camera mount is for hunting? ive been videoing my hunts for a couple years and am looking for a good one.
Ready to get to our place in west Texas this weekend. I’m sure I’ll run into a cow or 10 myself🤣
Do an into to deer hunting video for us fisherman who want to delve into it like you!
1st time I've come into a LFG video that had zero views showing. 😂

Best hunting content on RUclips

Don't let OSG see that footage of you on the step ladder!
Problem with being high in a tree is hitting both lungs it's pretty steep angle on your arrow I try to stick to around 20 ft
15-20 is perfect
You want to be careful climbing those trees, I’m not sure if you’re using climbing spikes, definitely want to use a lanyard to keep you from falling out of the tree.
. They do make pole saws for doing trimming like that...
i hope its just the angle of the arrow in the frame, but in your second set the arrow looks bent.
Deer hunting the desert
What thumb release is that?

I’m confused are the cows on private or public land
Lol lol!!! LFG. Damn you can be funny. That made me laugh so hard. SKETCHY SH$T.
LFG. This video was really blurry. Was it my connection or was it made this way?. I need to know...
It would be cool to see you do a collaboration with Seek One city hunting.
I could never have open pens or open feeders with cattle around! Surprised y’all do just with pigs, I don’t hunt cattle properties but we pen feeders to deter hogs!
Does mulletman still lease this with him??
No tips but would love to hunt that area with you I'm from northeast Pennsylvania where it's quite different
Tried ropes, tough to do in the dark on new spots. One stick is the way to go
Tried spurs too, better than srt but bulky/heavy and not public land friendly. Love one sticking though
Bambi tastes good 😋
Love the vids
You keep mentioning them catching your scent…have you tried rubbing cedar on your camo? Always works for me here about an hour west of ft worth
Good Hunting Bro 👊
JO JO IN VT 😆💕🍁💨🎃
I’ll stick with my Summit’s…
It's a good thing those cows are Angus if they were longhorns you'd best be staying in a tree!
You should mess with your tether height. I like it up by my head. You had it pretty low(around your chest)
Wish that hat was still available 😪
instead of climbing you need that rig that pulls you up two ropes with your feet in straps. i think fire departments have something like it.
Yeah when you’re dangling from that tree I was thinking to myself I wonder how old he is
I sit in my stand 8 hours at a time. The saddle doesn't look comfortable to sustain that length of time specially for my back.
Why would you not crank strap the ladder to the top of the ATV
Bambi and HIS mom lol
I just bought a saddle stand about a week ago and its amazing problems being things hard to shoot out of but with practice itll work out
I have a feeling that people who are skeptical about getting a saddle will read the video title and not watch the video
❤️
I switched to saddle hunting 4 years ago and never will go back to climbers
Cool
I don't believe that set up on the latter is a safe bet either
Real men do t day first
I know you won’t answer because you never answer any comments, but what county you in?
hunting on top of a feeder, in my state that is illegal
As a crossbow hunter only, the saddle doesn't work for me. I know a lot of other guys that use a bow itself and love it.
How does using a crossbow keep you from saddle hunting ?
@@cray-z7404 I use a larger width crossbow Excalibur so with that the limbs hit the side of the tree very often. Doesnt look like I can sleep in it
