Appreciate this guide-I’d add something about communication etiquette (being push to talk when on mic, muting yourself, voice volume), being polite (no swearing or lewd comments, etc), loot etiquette (requesting a named item at the start, passing and rolling on items etc), request to add a friend, principles of generosity (pacing and teaching particularly) are also very important features in a good party member. You don’t have to (nor should you) be the one doing everything yourself. If you have the highest kill count by a wide margin that probably means at least some other players in the group had less fun. Be generous and give others who are less experienced the opportunity to do the actionable items in a quest. This means slowing down, pointing things out verbally…and letting DDO be a community activity (as intended) not just a solo sport. Also, to all the players in raids who are running silent in game but are on discord with friends-I know the sound quality is better but you can still be push to talk in game and communicate verbally. Being in a raid of majority silent members is just weird and honestly I didn’t get into the raid to READ a chat window lol 😂 please get yourself a quality gaming headset for the sake of everyone. Thanks MM!

When I bought this game on CD from Walmart, all of the same suggestions could have applied then as well. They are all good suggestions that stand the test of time in this game(and in principle in other MMO games). There are new players now, and there are players that have been playing for 15 years. I think it can be challenging for older players to break habits and guild routine. I took an 11 year "break" and came back around a year ago and was totally lost. I think from personal experience, getting into pugging can be a really intimidating mixed bag. I think not knowing what to do, where to go would rank top on my list of inhibiting factors, followed closely by getting into a group that is on full zerg fest mode. I think that the best goal is to find people to play with that are looking for what you're looking for at the time. I play on Thelanis.

These videos are only now showing up on my feed. I dig this. I'd rather play with a weak friendly player than someone who is just using me to push the reaper level.

For me I just "Enter" and it takes me to the chat box.
      That should be the default
You might have to switch to the party tab if you have not yet
