In this video I demonstrate how to perform a picture lookup. In the first example I demonstrate how to perform an image lookup based on a value selected in a drop-down list and in the second example the picture lookup is based on a calculation. In both examples I use INDEX and MATCH to perform the lookups.
This video answers the following queries:
    Can you Vlookup images?
How do you use an image lookup in Excel?
Can I lookup picture with index match?
How to create a picture lookup in Excel
In Excel, display an image based on result
    Does Vlookup work with images?
How do you do a Vlookup with images?
What is the Vlookup formula for pictures in Excel?
Can we Vlookup pictures in Excel?
How do you do a Vlookup with a picture?
How do I display a picture in Excel based on a cell value?

Can you get it to work without average? I tried to combine it with a gauge chart on the back but didn't quite get to work it together as yours has average?

Thanks Mr. Tugwell, quick question, Is there a way to show a blank cell? Let's say if you delete the name of the course, or if no picture is found?
I've used the method but if no match is made it keeps tha last photo found, BTW best method so far, thaks again

So followed your vid and it works perfectly. However in my "images" sheet I have in "names of images" in A1:A5 and D1:D5. Then I have the "images" in B1:B5 and E1:E5. Just wondering how can I adapt the formula to look up multiple columns from my "images" sheet, please and thank you

I have been using the Indirect equivalent for picture lookup for some time but recently this stopped working (caused Excel to be non-responsive after every keystroke). Online advice was because indirect is a volatile function and runs every time Excel recalculates, even if calculation is set to Manual. I tried using the Index / Match option but this has the same result. As soon as I delete the Name from the Name manager all works okay again. Looking for any reason why Excel should start doing this when it has worked for me for some years. Regards.

I get an invalid error when trying to assign the named reference to the link image. Any suggestions?

Need help getting index match and indirect to work with Name Manager. I have multiple sheets where the pictures are placed, and occasionally the name of the sheets will be changed with is why I need to use Indirect to name the sheet I need to look into rather than a fixed sheet.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

Hi Chester I have a large db with hundreds of thousands items and their pictures. Is it possible to display the picture that is associated with each product ID? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

I've gone over this video, following every step you took. Excel returns and invalid reference notice message when trying to click on the image and entering =(Named Reference) in the function bar. I am trying to build a class manager database for my students that will return the images of their certificates and fitness reports. Thank you for your time.

i get a reference isnt valid error , why is that? I dont get what i am doing wrong and cropping makes a new copy and doesnt crop the original image , why is that, so i delete the original image and move the cropped image where i want it to go put the formula in to a random cell and then create a named formula and as soon as i try to edit the image link formula to "logo", i get the reference isnt valid error

Tried this out and in my case it was the formula acting up. I didn't lock (F4) a certain cel and that messed it up. Solved after using $ on all cells.
