I have a very simple procedure i use to resurface...clean the lap like you said but then reinstall on the faceting machine and install you table dop adapter that comes with your facetron.I remove the screw that hold the stone dop and apply the flat surface of the bottom of the table adapter to the lap....now cut a small piece of 80-100 grit wood working sand paper(i'm a finish carpenter)and wrap the paper very tightly(sticky back paper for orbital sanders works best) and adjust the table adapter so that the sand paper just touch the lap.Now sweep the lap until you no longer hear it cutting and inspect.if it looks and feels clean and smooth wash thoroughly with water....If you have left behind any 80 -100 grit you will know.....boy will you know..lol. But that has't ever been a problem and I've resurfaced my corian laps a couple times each. I just to lazy to sand by hand and the faceting machine leaves it flat as can be.
John, thank you so much for posting this video! I realized my corian lap is glazed and this should hopefully fix it, and I can stop pulling out what is left of my hair...
The tendency of Corian to glaze is most common in Corian cut from counter top scraps - and is not common in the Corian laps made specifically for faceting and sold on the Faceting Academy web site.
Thanks for the idea!!
