This is 80% Legit. (Still working on 10/2020)
But you need to do some changes
The RUclipsr said to change the *EDITION ID from Professional to Core*,
But it didn't work for me.
So after updating it twice I came over to that you need to
Change the *EDITION ID FROM PROFESSIONAL TO HOME (not Core)!*
_P.S.: Please like this comment, so that it can be seen by everyone._

Following the guide for the first time around, at the mount ISO section. IF it still works with the Core instead of your suggestion, ill make note here (in case its a specific case by case). If not ill update this message so everyone knows to follow yours!
UPDATE: I followed the video method and had no issues.

    One Note.
If you have Composition Edition ID
And not Composition ID it's the same.
If your Composition ID says "Enterprise" on both sides just change it to Core on both, same if it says Professional etc.
This also works for Unactivated windows. It worked for me.

Mine said Enterprise instead of pro in 2 spots. I just followed the video instructions and changed to home and core anyways. When the install came up, it didn't offer install to home, it offered pro so I quit the setup. Then went back to reverse the reedit changes in case leaving it would cause a problem. I noticed that it had changed back to enterprise in one of the spaces. (Or that I missed it, but I don't think so.) I changed it again to core, then ran the iso again and this time it offered home setup. All went through great, thank you!

    It worked, it really worked!
Okay, so to summarize some VERY important points that I got from the comment section but that wasn't mentioned in the video: first of all, there's a *second* thing you need to set from Enterprise/Professional to Core on both locations, "Composition Edition ID" (exact name can vary). Secondly, you also need to double-check the registry before running the setup.exe. I didn't on my first try, only to find out afterward that two of the settings had reverted prior to setup.
Other than that, this was a life-saver of a video! Thanks so much!

Used this video twice now on two different computers a couple years apart. Both were PCs purchased secondhand that came with pirated copies of Win10 Pro that I wanted to revert to a legal Home license. This method worked perfectly each time, and for that I am eternally grateful. You saved me a lot of frustration. One thing worth noting... the Registry seems to want to revert itself after a while, so you have to keep double-checking all of the settings before running the .ISO. Also, there are other instances of where it says "Professional" or "Enterprise" not mentioned in the video that you will also need to change to "Core." It's really simple to figure out at a quick glance. Thank you so much for saving both of my PCs from a never-ending cycle of failed Pro license renewals, haha

If you want to downgrade to Home Single Language, you'll have to change ProductName to "Windows 10 Home Single Language", EditionID to "CoreSingleLanguage" and CompositionEdition to "Core" instead.
Also make sure these changes haven't reverted back to the original ones the moment you mount your ISO.

This still works as of 3/5/2020. Make sure you DO NOT close the registry. Once you close it, Windows changes the boxes in the first section back to the old settings. Also, make sure you not only change the two he shows but also the Composition ID section to Core on both registry areas.

So, I just did this, followed the whole tutorial as shown. I have encountered a problem. (I'm writing this before my second attempt).
I have attempted to do this one, without any success, what happened is that at the end where it should've said "Install W10 Home", it said Pro, so I thought I should try again, I went into my registry, and noticed that my Software > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion has changed both the Product Name and EditionID back to pro. I have no idea what this happened, but I'm trying again, wish me luck!
Edit: Where it says "Download and install updates (recommended), make sure to click Not right now, as well as deselecting "I want to help make..." at the bottom, this causes the registry to revert what you put in beforehand. Works now, great tutorial!

you can deactivate or uninstall your windows 10 pro license key. open a command prompt with admin rights: slmgr.vbs /upk. enter your home license key and see what happens. if your windows pro came pre-installed oem then you wont be able to downgrade.

    • @Nadekkon

That was the problem for me, too. When I just follow the instruction of this video, Pro was installed. I could downgrade to Home after I select Not right now.
Current installer does not ask you first whether you want to select update now or not now (like 8:10 on the video). You have to find the screen in 8:10 yourself and change the settings before the installation.

If anyone is having issues with the registry keys reverting back to pro after you download the iso, change the values back. Then go to edit, then click on permissions, click on system and uncheck the full control box and run the windows setup again. Just before you're ready to start the installation, give full control back to the system and you should be good.

If you miss that, it resets some of the registry changes you already made and you need to start over from the beginning. Good video - this process works.

Edition ID from Pro/Ent to Core
Product name from Pro/Ent to Home
    all 3 in >WOW6432Node/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion< and >SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion<
last step is make windows 10 tool ISO - if u dont have dvd player download dvd emulator program like daemon tools...
run your windows 10 ISO disk in and when windows instalation starts (my wos set automaticly at 64 home version)

I got it working, I kept the registry open under Software-Microsoft-Windows NT as the WOW seem to retain values .. It seems that when the Media Tool creation finishes downloading and starts creating the iso, it changes it. I was able to catch and change it right before the tool finished downloading and started creating the iso. It was at 10% of creation when I updated it again to Home and it seemed to have stuck to Home now. I was able to get to Windows Home Install screen. Thanks.

Downgraded to Home from Pro today (26 Jan 2020) - thanks Krzysztof, first attempt to downgrade failed as Windows returned my regedit change of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProductName field back to 'Windows 10 Pro' after I'd closed edit. Did as you suggest and ran regedit as admin AND kept regedit OPEN while I mounted and started ISO installation setup.exe. Also, there ARE 6 fields to edit - the four in this video (thanks, Britec!) plus the 'CompositionEditionID' fields in each of the two folders edited in video have to be changed to 'Core'. I did the downgrade to Home as I was having problems with Pro as I cannot stop Windows asking me to enter network credentials when I try to access any of the other three machines on my home network (all of these three are Win 10 Home and can 'see' each other no problem). Put this down to some arcane setting in Local Group Policy in 'Pro' version (there are 100s of them!). Sadly, still have the network credentials issue but at least the machine is now Win 10 Home, same as the other three machines. My quest continues! Any ideas very welcome.

One very important note: Once you've modified the registry DO NOT CLOSE THE REGISTRY EDITOR PROGRAM because some of the modified values will be returned to their original state and the installer will not be fooled into thinking it's a win home installation. Leave the registry editor intact and carry on with the in-place Windows 10 Home Upgrade/Downgrade , that way the installer will "believe" it's a home installation.

Thanks for this video. I had a client who another computer technician had inappropriately installed Windows 10 Pro and Windows would not activate. I successfully downgraded his Windows version to Home and was able to activate it as he had a license key for Home and not Pro. I did have to change Composition Edition ID in both places in the registry from Professional to Core as well.
