My dad's friend owns a jazz bar, and the music is amazing. This sounds like exactly something the band would play- one time I even got to perform “I’m beginning to see the light”, “fly me to the moon” and many others with a sax player, a trumpet player, a pianist, a drummer, and a bassist. It was probably one of the best experiences in my life. Jazz has a way of making you feel like you're on top of the world. Love the compilation and hope the 1% reading this has a great day

I'm from Australia, and I went to NYC in 2014 and 2015, stayed with a relative who lives there in a small apartment, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of it all. Central Park, the museums, cafes, bars, the NYC people treated me very well. I really enjoyed Central Park at the start of fall. Hopefully NYC and the rest of the world can get back to its normal self eventually.

There's a store where I live called Von Maur, they always got pianist's playing in the store. This music makes me feel like I am walking through that very store. Some of us were born in & knew New York when these sounds were not nostalgia, but anywhere you might drop in, any evening, live or on LP disk, with friends, romantic hopes, just part of life. Nobody - outside of the chance heirs/heiresses - worried about "classy;" it was bonding to whomever loved the sound. And the harsh urban stuff - crime, politics, rackets, etc. - only bothered you if you were in them. New York City, the great, glittering hive, produced its special honey to make life sweet for everybody. That New York is long gone: a sadness - but gratitude to Richard Sherman for offering us some of its finest memories.

I don't know if you can really beat laid-back jazz music like this when it comes to listening to complete relaxation tbh. It's complete music of by itself and it is it's own genre of music loved by all people worldwide. I'm just glad I came to like it very much.
I love dancing. I picture my husband and I dressed for a gala night out, a live jazz band playing and us dancing the night away in a beautiful ballroom. Then we walk home hand in hand and once home, we continue with this beautiful music playing in the background in front of the fireplace.

I don't really think about "classy" when I think of jazz like this. I think of my youth when my father would wake me up early to go fishing in Buffalo, NY for walleye. We'd sometimes pull right up to the old factories/warehouses near Buffalo Canal, and sit there fishing off what I'd imagine was old boats/machinery in the water. Seeing the sun slowly rising up and glistening off the nearby windows, whether those were shattered or still intact. It felt... Right. Like you were inna place you were meant to be at.

I just don't get why so many people do not love Jazz music. This is a comfort to relaxation & ease of mind, taking you to a different dimension where you really need to be.

There's a store where I live called Von Maur, they always got pianist's playing in the store. This music makes me feel like I am walking through that very store. Just dressed in a nice dress, trench coat and wide brimmed feather hat. I stop to try the perfume samples, take a moment to listen to the music and I go on my merry way.

This playlist is literally the epitome of a walk in Central Park on a cool summer evening. Or enjoying some "me" time in a coffee bar in Greenwich Village. This picture captures the essence of serenity in the city that never sleeps. Blessed to have been able to have grown up in this beautiful place.
I am imagining walking on a street full of people, spontaneously smile and realize how insignificant I am to this world. Then, I tell myself "oh well, there is not much you can do about it, you have to go to work tomorrow."
Glad this pleases so many - deservedly. Some of us were born in & knew New York when these sounds were not nostalgia, but anywhere you might drop in, any evening, live or on LP disk, with friends, romantic hopes, just part of life. Nobody - outside of the chance heirs/heiresses - worried about "classy;" it was bonding to whomever loved the sound. And the harsh urban stuff - crime, politics, rackets, etc. - only bothered you if you were in them. New York City, the great, glittering hive, produced its special honey to make life sweet for everybody. That New York is long gone: a sadness - but gratitude to Richard Sherman for offering us some of its finest memories.
It reminds me of wandering around Washington Square NYC on a beautiful summer night some years ago. All of a sudden I came across this fella, an unbelievable talented street musician, playing such an unforgettable gig.... great place good vibes! God Bless 🇺🇸!
I’d like to one night walk through the French quarter of New Orleans, and just stroll the city listening to a tune like this and just take everything in, the beauty, the scents, the amazing people around me. This type of music with beautiful scenery is like wine with cheese.

I don't know if you can really beat laid-back jazz music like this when it comes to listening to complete relaxation tbh. It's complete music of by itself and it is it's own genre of music loved by all people worldwide. I'm just glad I came to like it very much.
I love dancing. I picture my husband and I dressed for a gala night out, a live jazz band playing and us dancing the night away in a beautiful ballroom. Then we walk home hand in hand and once home, we continue with this beautiful music playing in the background in front of the fireplace.

I don't really think about "classy" when I think of jazz like this. I think of my youth when my father would wake me up early to go fishing in Buffalo, NY for walleye. We'd sometimes pull right up to the old factories/warehouses near Buffalo Canal, and sit there fishing off what I'd imagine was old boats/machinery in the water. Seeing the sun slowly rising up and glistening off the nearby windows, whether those were shattered or still intact. It felt... Right. Like you were inna place you were meant to be at.
Gonna be 95 years old Friday. I began to listen to this music in the 70‘s. I spend my hole life into jazz. Jazz was my life. Crazy how life takes you.
