@@overtimechaos basically: the game was a success for xbox pre activision. But the acquisition made a hole in their wallet that only games like cod can fill. So the game became a flop retroactively since the new mesure of success is the same as candy crush or cod.

That sweeper bot is THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTER OF THE ENTIRE STORY.
If he wasn't there, Chai wouldn't have gotten his powers (because the "music player" wouldn't have bounced off of his head)
He also gets tangled up in the power cord preventing who KNOWS how much damage.
And yet, at every chance the player gets, they are incentivized to kill them.
I actually didn't know they drop anything until waay into 2nd playthrough

Idea time.
What if someone who believes Vandelay, Chai and his friends are the bad guys instead of Kale, tries to pretty much recreate SPECTRA.
The person succeeded in making SPECTRA better and gains control of armstrong tech, so we have to play was Chai's friends (and layer Chai himself) to try and rescue Chai, after which the team go and try to take down SPECTRA v2 and the new enemy.
I like how this universe is upbeat and cartoonish yet deals with MAJOR existential threats like spectra like its a saturday morning cartoon villian same with how the bosses just POOF when defeating like they didnt actually "die", same with how horrifying it would actually be for AI Kale to be put into a spectra computer then suddenly going into limbo until he gets plugged back in
Technically speaking AI Kale wouldn't go into limbo unless SPECTRA just entered a low power mode 🤔
With power completely cut his entire existence is basically paused... If someone were to plug his power back in he might even still be in the middle of his monolouge depending on how roboust the memory of the SPECTRA AI is.
Chai did once say, "The best solution is the most obvious." Pulling the plug on high tech like that... he made his point.
Is it just me or does Kale have massive Sithlord energy with his convoluted plans and resurrection attempt
Kale at heart is a lazy slacker who manipulates others to doing his hard for him so he can enjoy his coffee breaks. That is his weakness is instead of using Spectra as what his sister feared to rule the world. He uses it for a mundane reason and hatches a convoluted scheme to achieve it. Hell you see it with most of the bosses is they are yes men who believe in Kale's manipulations.

Yeah. I also got few TFTB vibes from this game. And I am not complaining.
@@lukasvokurka9224 honestly its kind of uncanny at few points. Especially in the chemistry the characters have together, and in the fact that some of them share a lot of similarities with their TFTB counterparts (Rhys and Chai, Fiona and Peppermint, 808 and Gortys, and so on)
It'd be interesting to have a fight with someone who's on the Off-Beats, throwing you off your game and forcing you to be proactive rather than reactive
That, or someone who's gimmic is that they're playing 3/4 while you're stuck on 4/4
The one thing I saw using this type of mechanic was lightning from Kale that struck on beats 1, 4 and 7. To understand better, imagine you being able to dodge and light attack every "2" beats, so on beats 1, 3, 5 and 7. This rhythm of 1, 4, 7 makes it so you can't dodge out of the way of the second one immediately as it hits, so you need to be a little creative.

Hoping in a sequel it develops Zanzo or Roquefort given they weren't shown to be killed or anything, maybe a revenge plot or something
Probably arrested and stripped of their robotic capabilities if that the case. They did commit literal illegal takeover via mind control. (And we have to considered laws going to be made to prevent another kale again)
Well, maybe Zanzo, but I'm pretty sure Roquefort got completely crushed by all the money the corporation made (ya gotta love irony sometimes).
@@jomarcentermjm I thought that the entire game was completely unknown by the general public. We don't see Chai get any awards for saving the world, and the only congrats they got was from Peppermints mom.
Zanzo got uppercutted by the axe like Rekka did, sure no show but it was the same move and Roquefort got rambled in money, but hey he could have survived with his enhanced form.
One of the Vlogs by Korsica implies that Zanzo and Rekka did actually die, so i have my doubts that Zanzo survived somehow unfortunately

On second thought. I thought that was about to happened with Hi-Fi Rush 2 or First DLC for story part 2 where kale still doing the master plan.

Unfortunately it's too late for a sequel, but after beating the main story I thought it would be cool to have more "defects" in the future. There would probably have to be rules or only be permitted to exceptional citizens, but I liked the thought of Chai starting a chain of people wanting to be implanted with their favorite hobby or object. Still wish Tango Gameworks wasn't shut down.

If there is ever going to be a sequel, I wish it would be something about Chai’s musical enhancements. Maybe the cast get their own music enhancements, making them see what Chai sees. Also letting us control different parts of the group, not just Chai. If Kale comes back, make him steal Chai’s abilities of something, makes more sense if he got to start over.

I know, it's a trend for character action games, but come on: when it works, IT WORKS, and I can totally see it working for Hi-Fi Rush. Dante's got Vergil, Raiden's got Sam... it'd be fun to see one for Chai.

@@meowo69 cool idea. I would like if the sequel's protagonist was Chai, though: I think he still has opportunity for growth, since he's got, well... character flaws. It's not a bad thing, not at all, just means he can evolve, which is pretty great.
@@ReiseLukas Cool name! I was personally thinking of a name based on coffee, as a known, bitter counterpart to coffee, like Esper (Espresso) or Mocha, but I think yours is... just better. Way better.
I also think he could also be into rock, like Chai, but more edgy subgenres, like punk rock or heavy metal. Instead of being extroverted, reckless and kind of dumb (like Chai), Earl's focused, reserved, no-nonsense and irritable (think Korsica, but more isolated and lonesome).
Also, if Chai plays the guitar, Earl plays... the bass.

-weapon could be a cane/woodwind (Clarinet, Oboe, or Bassoon specifically)
-uses jazz instead of rock
-Could use a fighting style simular to a fencer. Combos would have shorter button sequecer and be quicker.
-can utilize the offbeat to change attacks (thrusts on the beat, slashes on the offbeat. Combos are different depending on this, as are supers. Jumping or dashing on the offbeat can cancel any attack on the beat, and vice versa. Generally slower tempo to accomidate this).
-Outfit like an orchestra player's.
