I thought Zanzo was the only boss with highly unrealistic demands until 5:25 when Mimosa says "erase that from the live feed" lol
with someone who prides themselves on image, and takes every opertunity to control appearances, do you really think the live feed is live? :P

Seems like Someone hasn’t heard of stream delay. I can see them having the livestream delayed by a couple minutes in case they need to cut things out.
Apparently they have on average 7-9 seconds to alter it (literally just the specific l number I’d heard, not certain how accurate), especially because LIVE stuff can go wrong or have small things you’d just prefer to hide.
I imagine there’s a lot of variation in the time depending on the performance or event as well. Sorry, your new years ball drop is a slight lie. 😅

This is probably the only time I've seen the "spunky hero interrupts the fame obsessed diva's performance and earning her scorn" trope (think Nozomi from River city girls) flipped over its head. So refreshing to see the narcissistic diva *roll with it* and make the interruption PART of her show, regaining her composure and the advantage in the process

I will shamefully admit that it took me way to long to figure out that I was just suppose to keep attacking her to get rid of the shield. I thought I had to wait for a certain attack to parry
Same, the message about the dress being at full power made me think I was supposed to be doing something with Korsica.
Same confusion here, but I brute force everything at first, so it worked out... but she was HARD. There was a full 30 seconds I was just spamming Peppermint bc Mimosa's attacks were so annoying to deal with
@@scylla1772 funnily enough, switching between korsica when shes on the ground, and peppermint in the air is probably the best way to deal with mimosa's first phase. Keep your distance, let peppermint keep up the pressure from afar, jump in with korsica when she lands for extra pressure. Most effective way to break her shields and deal with her. Trying to fight her in the air is just gonna get you hit badly for no better result than letting peppermint do it.
That’s the shittiest boss fight in the game, an absolute mess.

I love this boss fight personally, the only time Chai probably was closest ever on becoming a rockstar, even have a concert on public and watched by many people!!
He also battled a musician/actress on STAGE!! AWESOME!!

I'm just happy to play a game that gave me a challenge without being cheap about it. Each time she slapped me across the face I knew it was 100 percent my fault. Love this game.
Also the detail at 0:02 is too funny! All the robots are playing the one kind of instrument they shouldn't be able to play.

This a really a game That feels that it was made for players but not to just make money
There's a few echoes of Space Channel 5 in this game, but starting at about 3:46, that entire segment is a direct homage, down to the pacing of the beats and how Mimosa uses Ulala's poses. Left, right, left, right, chu chu, chu!
I'm glad others saw it. I freaked out, it was like I had trained since I was a small child for that very moment. I'd been noting that the party mini game on the big mobs are basically Morolian segments without the cute Chu! sounds.
Don’t forget that in the lead up to that segment she does ulalas walk perfectly

I don't generally like rhythm games, but I love the artstyle and animation-look in this one.
Yeah they are too hard but this will make all rhythm games look dogshit.

How Mimosa reacts to Chai's unexpected appearance actually does show she is competent at her job and her claim as "Queen of Spin"; especially since she had to improvise it. Unlike Rekka who's answer to something unexpected is "destroy it and remove the evidence". Of course; she's still corrupt and wastes resources for her own ego; but she does actually... do her job.
I love how he just executes the bosses after he defeats them. LOL.

3:42 It was funny how a lot of people didn't get the Space Channel 5 reference and were typing what the hell that part was.
This is the only clip I've seen from the game but I'm already in love with it. I'm not good at rhythm games but this looks actually fun to play.

I'd just enjoy the music and animation
The nice thing is that it doesn't punish you if you're not good at the rhythm (for the most part; the Korsica fight was a royal pain), but instead rewards you when you do hit the rhythm. You can dodge more if you dodge on the beat, for example, but can still dodge whenever.

Yeah the good guys are surprisingly chill about killing people. They only make an exception when the person has a use for them. (i.e. Korsica)

I think you can beat this game on easy. There are a lot of checkpoints whenever you get a game over. it is just hard to get rank s.
@@misternoobie Problem is I cannot hold rythm at all. First time I found out was when I was playing patapon on PSP. I could not even win first figh. I am good with many things, especially strategies so I gues rythm games are my cryptonite :)
I think you would still do fine on easy. The checkpoints are really friendly for people new to the genre :)
@@Rabestern I saw that the game has support for exactly those kinds of situations people might face (I think there’s a metronome and a lot more stuff) so yeah I’d recommend giving it a go

You automatically attack on the beat no matter what but you get extra damage if you press the buttons on beat
The only hard thing you maybe could go into is parrying (especially in those parrying scenes with those electricity bolts) but it could be possible its easier in easy mode (dont know because im playing hard mode)

I feel like this game is influenced somewhat by no straight roads, and yet it still feels original.

Really cute and upbeat game.... In which you sometimes brutally murder people with a blunt object so hard their ashes scatter in the wind.
From the boss fights I liked the intro to this fight the most, the fight not so much still but still way better than Rekka's or QA-1MIL's. My personal favorites are Roquefort, Zanzo and Korsica. Btw. Chai and all the bosses except for Korsica are narcissists just different types or rather different faces or phases.
Chai: the daydreamer who is constantly preoccupied with fantasies of fame and success. Also feels entitled to praises and recognition despite never achieved anything before.
Rekka: the overachiever, workaholic, who needs to speak of herself constantly in third person to separate herself from her "greateness" and to emphase it.
Zanzo: the cerebral narcissist who is obsessed with his intellect.
Mimosa: the somatic narcissist, preoccupied with beauty.
Roquefort: the literal wolf in sheep costume professional, superiority complex about his intellect and later about his strength and nothing matter too him just HIS (financial) success.
Kale: manipulative, charming egomaniac, borderline psychopathic, your typical corporate white collar psychopath
What all of them have in common their largen than life ego, they think they are special and superior, need for constant admiration and recognition.
Chai also kind of snaps out of it over time.
It's fantastic how they got defeated by their own creations though.
Roquefort got crushed by money, Zanzo got defended, Mimosa wanted to put on a show and lost her composure, Korsika, though not executed, was defeated by Chai wearing her down in a psychological sense. Rekka and Kale share the "defeated by their own creation" deal, just as Chai said.
Chai's narcissistic behavior enabled him to fight fire with fire, which is the best part.
@@radadic Yeah, Chai is literally made into a defect by Kale tossing his MP3 player recklessly down into the "production line".
Also Hi-Fi Rush's creators did some psychological horrors before so I think they know what they were doing when they chose to make the villains and the hero narcissists.
Whenever I watch gameplay of this game, I notice, close to the end, that some part of me started subconsciously tapping to the beat. This time it was my left foot.
I find it funny how chie clearly doesn't know how to play the guitar but still wins the crowd over

This boss was frustrating to me. I can't believe you S ranked this so quickly. I'm playing on hard but I can't seem to get the timing correctly. I hear it's difficult cause of the cloud gaming but I just think I suck 😂

This boss was and today still is one of my top 5 favorite boss fights. It was number 1 for a short time until final fantasy 16 came out. I just had so much fun fighting her. I wanted to save the gameplay from the fight but then Xbox is like no we don't save more then a few seconds of gameplay at a time. 😒

Idk, it seems to me that at this point in the game, so much crap is going on with the audio that you can barely hear the music. Feels like it kind of takes away from the point of the game.
The audio mixing isnt great

Game is built more for a system with channels
From someone who's played it, it's not all that bad in the moment. I never had a problem staying on beat in the middle of a fight. Although in the regular levels they'll sometimes change songs halfway through and that throws me off for a minute but it comes back soon enough.
