Not only bears. The snakes are waking up too. I was camping by a creek here in Southeast Texas Thursday night. Around 3 PM I walked around behind my hammock to process firewood and a big snake was right behind the hammock. As soon as it saw me, it took off for the water which was in front of my camp. Must have been between 5 and 6 feet long. More than likely not poisonous though but I'm scared of all of them. LOL
In spite of that, I had a nice night, big fire. Coffee in the morning and a little exploring and then home.
Aye I bet! Not many snakes where I'm from but definitely something to be concerned about in certain parts. Sounds like a nice day all in all tho :p

Damn, this was a really good video Xan!!! I'm always so intrigued by what you're going to cook on your camping trips and this was by far my favorite. The combination of salmon and berries and honey is so interesting i'm gonna have to try it! I'm sure the bears were happy about that sweet wake up call too aha look forward to what you planned for the spring season! :)

i know this video is a little bit older but while you spoke about "a black bears favorite dish" in my head i had the imagination of a bear: frying salmon... in a pan... on an oven... mixing berries and honey... with a spoon... wearing a cooking apron... listening to his favorite wake up song... played by a radio... in your apartment... waiting for his family to wake up :D

Brunswick sardines, onion, garlic chopped finely with tomatoes also you can add chives, cilantro and salt and pepper to taste mix it all up place in a wrap add cheese if you want easy no cooking and cheap.
