But with the increase of streaming services they ended up going their current route and I, for one, love it.
Sting was really the only other person doing that entrance. He stopped doing it for a year then after talking to Bret (who discussed it with the rest of the family) he bought it back. Although Sting always wore a very hefty harness under his coat while Owen was wearing a hidden harness with a quick release (it was the release that failed) if you go back and watch after Sting lands the camera normally cuts to a reaction shot (a lot of the time an overreaction from Hogan) while Sting gets rid of his harness. January 4, 1999. For 2 reasons. #1: WCW used to enjoy giving away Raw results on Nitro. Raw was taped and Nitro was live. On that day, Mankind has won his 1st WWF title. WCW decided to leak that result while trying to make it sound like the worst thing ever. But it caused half a million WCW viewers to change the channel to WWF. And WCW has never beat WWF since then. #2: Because WCW knew of The Rock vs Mankind title match, they decided to do a title match of their own to counteract It. Considering Raw still hasn't had a 3.0 Nielson rating since last year after Wrestlemania, it looks like WWE may be in trouble with the USA Network soon.
+live2rock13 actually No... they're still Top 10 Cable on Mondays, USA's Number One each week regularly...and it is USA not WWE that keeps Raw at 3 hours (adding SD! is also a vote of confidence)... if USA was upset with them, they certainly wouldn't give them that much air time...
IMO.... you forgot a few pivotal dates in wwe history..... 10/17/83 - Snuka jumps off the Cage on Muraco - MSG, NY 1/23/84 - the birth of Hulkamania - MSG, NY 5/19/96 - The Kliq Incident - MSG, NY 5/23/99 - Death Of Owen Hart - Kemper Arena, MO
applepitz All right, except Owen's death. Yes, it was a tragedy, and a really shocking one. But absolutely nothing changed for WWE. The Curtain Call did, it turned a Triple H King of the Ring victory into a Steve Austin one, and with his victory, the legendary Austin 3:16 promo. Snuka diving off the Cage was also important (and overlooked). And Hulkamania explains itself. But Owen's death changed nothing for WWE...
what about the night mankind won the title? it's the same night that the fingerpoke of doom happened, the infamous "butts in the seats comment, and it was the last time wcw beat raw in ratings. wwe had won.
Adam Bartlett Please, Everyone, always treat Everyone and Everything with kindness, love and respect. Please always remember, Jesus is always there for you no matter what. Please open your hearts to love and please find Jesus!!!!!!!
One has to appreciate WWE's ability to withstand so many blows, from so many different directions, and still keeps going. Not exactly soaring the high heavens as they used to, but they march on nonetheless.
Owen Hart's death changed wrestling as well. Since then WWE has had no entrances involving a cable as far as I know, and Sting would refuse to do it on WCW until Bret Hart told him to do it.
I don't actually have an issue with PG like a lot of people do. I agree with what was said in the Pipebomb video about it. It's not the rating that's the problem, it's the booking
Some people ask"Oh,why are chair shots to the head banned and why are they censored in videos that include them(on WWE 's main channel)"well #3 that's why RIP Chris Benoit
The one thing that will always forever bug me (And I'm not the only one that will always be bugged by this) is why didn't WWE have a drug and concussion testing program in the first place since day one? I mean, think about it: the Benoit Family would still be alive to this day and Eddie Guerrero would still be alive to this day. Thumbs up if you agree.
You gotta think of it this way; WWE, like any company that involves physical contact like the MLB or the NFL has had to adapt based on situation. Whenever the MLB began getting mass steroid scandals in the 80's drug testing became more mandatory. Just like WWE. In the past 10-20 years the NFL has started doing more research/ taken steps to prevent concussions due to the amount of deaths and suicides from it. Just like WWE.
Wasn't one of the reasons Eddie got fired from WWE in his early run with them for refusing to go to rehab after finding about his drug use? I could be wrong... Can't remember?
I really wish they would just abandon the steel chair entirely. Without the head shot it is a pretty pointless and silly looking weapon. Especially considering they are allowed to do other "headshots" with many different weapons.
The steel chair is one of wrestling's biggest icons, you cant think about wrestling without thinking about chairs. There's no way they are going to retire such iconic weapon.
+Zskillit Well in all honesty it didn't really change the WWE like these moments did. Surely it was one of, if not the most shocking and saddening moment in WWE but it didn't bring change like the wellness policy with Eddie's death and the increased medical restrictions with Benoit's death.
watch cm punk's documentary...... the writers had a plan for him that he could have an open mic and speak his mind before his contract was over...... and it gave cm punk the biggest push of his life.............
we still have one of the greatest triple h i have a little respect for john cena i think chris jericho still wresltles but other then that everything is shitty
+MOI it isn't because it's PG, if that was the case then NXT, ROH, NJPW, Lucha Underground, Dragon Gate etc. would all suck since they are PG. WWE's booking may be awful but that's not cause it's PG, it's because it's bad regardless. Some things in the Attitude Era, if they happened today everybody would be saying fuck PG that was so stupid... It's just the booking itself that is bad sometimes... Personally I'd rather have what we have now with NXT than revert back to TV-14. It's just safer for the performers and it's a lot more of a serious product IMO
+Cronic Fuze He will be back sooner or later..I don't think anyone cares to see him fight in the UFC anymore. He will be one and done more than likely.
Unless you're Chris Benoit or Hulk Hogan (etc) then WWE sporodically featuring their past wrestlers means nothing. They owned them during that time and have the rights to distribute those images. They don't do it too much because what's the point of showcasing talent you no longer have? CM Punk is still prepping for UFC.
The day Hulk Hogan debuted, The day Hulk Hogan won his first world championship, Bad Blood 1997, Wrestlemania 14, Survivor Series 2001, Wrestlemania 20 also changed WWE in my opinion
#11 Owen Hart fucking dying. Didn't change the business, but that's some serious shit right there. You can be sure it affected Vince. #12 The entire year of 2000. Legendary performances from The Rock, Mankind, Triple H, Rikishi and Scottie and Grandmaster.
ND Cross no one entered the ring from the rafters anymore after that night Even Sting who did it for years in the WCW only did it once after that night.
Vince didn't really step up in the death of Chris Benoit. He totally danced around the brain scans on Chris in an interview about it. He even flat out said they were wrong.
Yeah but his reign lasted more than 25 hours, therefore you could have taken you 24 hours and 59 seconds to click on his video which is quite slow contradicting your point...

+travisk08 They really need to get out of this shitty PG bulshit
The day CM Punk left. The day WWE became a show for 6 year olds.
Ah yes, all credibility left with a guy named CM Punk. Gillberg had more lasting impression.
Bungie's Busted Bugs I swear bro CM Punk fans give him so much credit. Like I like him as a wrestler but he didn’t affect a whole goddam company.
@@hasanmahmd you're wrong. CM was a chance to make wrestling great again. But Paul buried him.
I remember the Benoit murders. I was only seven years old and I couldn't fathom how this had happened. Such a terrible tragedy
#PushBingley
lol
#GiveBingleyaChance
+Peter Tanner #ripbingley
Pete the Hardcore God Who's that diva next to Bingley?
Christ Benoit was the reason I watch wrestling. After he died, I didn't even bother looking up on the PPV.
IMO.... you forgot a few pivotal dates in wwe history.....
10/17/83 - Snuka jumps off the Cage on Muraco - MSG, NY
1/23/84 - the birth of Hulkamania - MSG, NY
5/19/96 - The Kliq Incident - MSG, NY
5/23/99 - Death Of Owen Hart - Kemper Arena, MO
applepitz All right, except Owen's death. But Owen's death changed nothing for WWE...
applepitz none of these changed the WWE...
Ending Undertaker's streak should've been up there.
Nice video though.
You Forgot The Undertaker's Streak Ending
what about the night mankind won the title? it's the same night that the fingerpoke of doom happened, the infamous "butts in the seats comment, and it was the last time wcw beat raw in ratings. wwe had won.
+Smallafro Games I was JUST ABOUT TO SAY THAT!....
+Smallafro Games Raw actually beat them in the ratings that night(when Foley won)
+Smallafro Games Important, but not more imp. than any of these on the list. Before that WWF was already winning the war.
+Smallafro Games Should have beat that Network crap.
you have the best videos on this channel, but please stop saying you'll see me soon you creeper
what
This is the least funny joke I've ever read. This is face Jerry Lawler-levels of bad.

J_Dog 247+ Hail Satan.
I really hope the WWE Network doesn't ever fail. I love it and I'd be so depressed if all that wrestling left and I'd have to buy DVDs.
And here we are!
One has to appreciate WWE's ability to withstand so many blows, from so many different directions, and still keeps going. Not exactly soaring the high heavens as they used to, but they march on nonetheless.
Amen to that
Rest In Peace Chris and Eddie. We love you
Eddie's death changed the WWE not a lot, but it was the ending of blading.
Chris' death changed the WWE to the point to what it is today.
He forgot September 13, 2001...The 1st live televised broadcast after 9/11.
+David McMeans it didn't really change wrestling though
+David McMeans
And why was that important? How did it affect WWE long-term? Exactly, not at all.
It didn't change anything in wrestling tho.
+Cheng McGoldstein Didn't even let him answer before you gave him the "exactly, not at all"
You are so mean! ;o
+Cheng McGoldstein Which is why the goddamn company does NOT listen to a "fan" like you.
This year marks 10 years of Benoit... Chris, Nancy and Daniel will live forever. R.I.P 'Rabbid Wolverine' and his family
Owen Hart's death changed wrestling as well. Since then WWE has had no entrances involving a cable as far as I know, and Sting would refuse to do it on WCW until Bret Hart told him to do it.
SimplyJoshing Yeah, shocked it's not here!
I don't actually have an issue with PG like a lot of people do. I agree with what was said in the Pipebomb video about it. It's not the rating that's the problem, it's the booking
+Steff Bills
Hit the nail on the head
Thank goodness I grew up watching wrestling when it was the best era ..1998-2002-3 ..
You forgot the (horrible) day when Vince made XFL. lol
You missed the day John Cena finally lost clean
+Meth Ballinz yea his debut
when did that happen?
+Alan Cotter Thats his debut
+Alan Cotter His last ppv match?
He lost clean on his debut no?
Some people ask"Oh,why are chair shots to the head banned and why are they censored in videos that include them(on WWE 's main channel)"well #3 that's why RIP Chris Benoit
The one thing that will always forever bug me (And I'm not the only one that will always be bugged by this) is why didn't WWE have a drug and concussion testing program in the first place since day one? I mean, think about it: the Benoit Family would still be alive to this day and Eddie Guerrero would still be alive to this day. Thumbs up if you agree.
+Dustin Nunn because vince is all about the $$$ .
If only... Eddie and the Benoit family were great people. R.I.P
Anytime I see Bingley, videos get better.
I agree
The Death of Owen Hart? A wrestler dying in a wwe ring? Due to a reckless and failed stunt?
With success comes consequences
Vince McMahon had the rope loosened to purposely kill Owen hart.
I miss Chris and Eddie. Both will always be my favorites.
And I also miss Adam in this channel
I really wish they would just abandon the steel chair entirely. Without the head shot it is a pretty pointless and silly looking weapon. Especially considering they are allowed to do other "headshots" with many different weapons.
The steel chair is one of wrestling's biggest icons, you cant think about wrestling without thinking about chairs. There's no way they are going to retire such iconic weapon.
Rest In Peace to those that passed away.
what about the night Owen Hart died???? that shook the company.
how?
Hardly
you missed out the day CM PUNK left WWE has never been the same since and never will
Who?
It was still low with him. It was still PG, so...
That day wwe just got worse. Especially when Daniel Bryan was force to retire.
Litty Voisie are you living under a rock? If so then I’m telling you that Bryan wrestles in WWE again
I cried when Eddie and Chris died. I would never forget those days.
....I guess Owen Hart dying wasn't one of the 10 biggest days in WWE history.
+Zskillit Well in all honesty it didn't really change the WWE like these moments did. Surely it was one of, if not the most shocking and saddening moment in WWE but it didn't bring change like the wellness policy with Eddie's death and the increased medical restrictions with Benoit's death.
+Zskillit It was a tragedy, but it didn't affect the company's policies like Benoit and Guerrero's deaths did.
TAFARockWarrior97 Fair point.
0:22 the mistake that changed WhatCultureWrestling forever.
Owen Hart, fingerpoke of doom, and the Kliq at MSG... how do you possibly miss these three???
The Benoit stuff changed everything.
CM Punk's Pipebomb.
+Jojo Green I'm confused was it scripted or not
lol damn
watch cm punk's documentary...... the writers had a plan for him that he could have an open mic and speak his mind before his contract was over...... and it gave cm punk the biggest push of his life.............
sooooooooooo he wasn't supposed to drop the pipe bomb
+navrin he could go and give an outlet to all his grudges on the live TV....... that was the plan
Eddie Guerrero‘s death single-handedly caused a railroad of bad shit to happen not to mention Benoit but his death had a ripple effect on the WWE
July 22nd, 2008. The day wrestling officially died.
we still have one of the greatest triple h i have a little respect for john cena i think chris jericho still wresltles but other then that everything is shitty
+DREAM CHASER some of the best wrestlers are still around but the show is absolute garbage since then.
That's y I stop watching wwe in 2008 and I'm only 15 turning 16 in a couple of days wow
+xxKILLAwaRRioRxxx XD why are you here then?
I miss the old whatculture
Can't remember the exact day but the one in May 1987 when Hacksaw Jim Duggan and The Iron Sheik were arrested together for possession.
07:06 GODDAMIT BINGLEY
Undertaker's streak ends
These are 10 real life event oriented days, not scripted ones.
+Ryan Guerra oh yeah
Yes.
Chris and eddie are wrestling heroes and im so upset/angry that benoit will never get hall of fame status
Make a vid about the wrestling territories
I forgot to say how the wwe blacklisted Benoit for that shit. A legendary down the drain because the wwe didn’t care about there well being
The day they went PG, was the day the noose was put on. That noose has been tightening ever since. I miss the attitude era.
Vince McMahon: "F" YOU'RE FIRREEEDDD!!!!!!!
CM Punk was recently featured on an Instagram video by WWE. Does that mean anything?
No
+Cronic Fuze There was an Ad for a Beyond the Ring with CM Punk apparently airing later this month
It means WWE featured him on an Instagram post. Duh.
You put 345 instead of 354!!? LOL
No credible threat to wwe
2019: AEW VS WWE Wednesday night ward have begun
The WWE Network has been a monumental success.
No Owen Hart??
#11 Owen Hart fucking dying. Didn't change the business, but that's some serious shit right there. You can be sure it affected Vince.
#12 The entire year of 2000. Legendary performances from The Rock, Mankind, Triple H, Rikishi and Scottie and Grandmaster.
It changed the business very slightly. It's the reason zip cord entrances are now banned.
Melissa Lloyd
Of course. I'm talking emotional impact that resonates for decades.
so good to hear adam in a whatculture video, I miss this days
May 23rd 1999 Owen Hart's death
What did it change
+ND Cross nothing at all
ND Cross no one entered the ring from the rafters anymore after that night Even Sting who did it for years in the WCW only did it once after that night.
the number at the beginning was 345 not 354😂😂
I am so happy I found this channel. So many good videos.
Hey u missed Owen Harts death... wouldnt u say that changed wwe
“Lie, cheat, steal”
Vince didn't really step up in the death of Chris Benoit. He totally danced around the brain scans on Chris in an interview about it. He even flat out said they were wrong.
I clicked on this video faster than Ryder's IC Championship reign
+BossyIbz copy paste...
Did you copy and paste it that fast to?
hmm forgot the and
Yeah but his reign lasted more than 25 hours, therefore you could have taken you 24 hours and 59 seconds to click on his video which is quite slow contradicting your point...
Creed stfu
"Is the PG era nearly over"
Not likely now that Linda McMahon has a cabinet position in Trumps administration.
WWE will never be the same. AEW is where it's at now
