Phil Collins is a icon. OMG he dominated the 80s. He was the drummer of the 70s group Genesis, then became the lead when Peter Gabriel left. Then he went solo and racked up so many hits. P.S. Tina Turner is not dead. She retired.
So many Madonna hits to listen to. She’s a very versatile artist and there’s virtually no genre she hasn’t covered. Like a Prayer, Vogue, Justify My Love, Erotica, Secret, Human Nature, Frozen, Ray of Light, Music, Don’t Tell Me, Hung Up, 4 Minutes, and that’s just a start. 40 year long career there’s bound to be something you enjoy.
Your missing out on a huge community of Madonna reaction subscribers not to mention some great songs and videos. La Isla Bonita, Like a Prayer, Papa Don’t Preach, Crazy for You, Into the Groove, Like a Virgin & Express Yourself were the ones featured here and a great start. You might know Billy Ocean from the song Caribbean Queen which was one of the bigger hits if I remember correctly. You knew a lot though.
"In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins is a must reaction. The live video version is the best it not only shows off his vocals but his great Drum skills. He was a member of the band Genesis before going solo.
Love you going thru this stuff..I grew up in late 70s/early 80s..graduated 1985..rock and roll hit its stride in 1982. In 1983, if I put on WLS-FM 94.7 in Chicago, you literally could not hear a bad song. It was an amazing time. Summer of 1983 between WLS and B-96 and the Mighty Met 95.5, you had great music 24 hours a day all summer. All of our parties we just had to have a radio! No need for records/cassettes really. I can remember being so drunk in a corn field party during "Jack & Diane" that I puked on someone's car. lmao. OMG, we were rebels with a cause..took no sh1t from anyone including teachers, and they were rough on us. Some parents too. But we used that to take on the world and conquer it in our 20s.
The 60s-80s were THE eras for music. The fore-runners for the music, artists and changes which have us the music we enjoy today. I was lucky enough to grow in a house with varied tastes, from Boney M to Michael J to Tom Jones. Indubitably the 3 decades which will never be topped, in my opinion.
Shine, what a great reaction! Seriously, you knew like 90% of these songs too. The 80s were great because there was not only passion in the music, but a huge variety of musical styles. Yes, you should react to John Lennon (and Paul McCartney). But unlike the Beastie Boys, everything related to them (or the Beatles in general) is very much copyright claimed. Madonna owned the 80s. Yes, you probably should look more into Phil Collins. You'll hear more Abba music from the 70s than in the 80s (same with the Steve Miller band). This was great, and I'm glad you seemed to enjoy it!
I vividly remember fall 1984. I was in preschool on a field trip, sitting in the back of a minivan and Tina Turner was on the radio followed by Stevie wonder and I was like please don't change the channel or turn this off! I remember the other parents commenting on the minivan because it was brand new and no one had seen one before. Whenever I hear those two songs it takes me right back.
The music in 80s,90s,2000s were so diverse and experimental!!! The melodies were great too! Artistes were hardworking n the industry was cutthroat. Amazing songs were produced.
You want to know how great the 80s were? There's a '2nd most popular song of the 80s' video that went up and the songs in that video are still some of the greatest hits that we still hear today.
The 80's, my years of going out to the disco's and bars for me the most wonderful time of all. Bucks Fizz won the Eurovision Song Contest (for the UK) with that song ("Making Your Mind Up") in 1981. It was massive at the time (again, in the UK)...and was famous for the bit where the women rip off their skirts and have really short skirts underneath 😆
I'm surprised you knew so many!! Great reaction. I love the 80's! There are so many songs you can check out. For the songs you didn't know or didn't know well, I think the artists you should definitely check out are: Madonna, George Michael, and Pet Shop Boys. I’m wondering what chart they are using. Is it the British chart or maybe a US/UK mismatch because there are a handful of songs on here I’ve never heard of (I assume U.K. hits). I went from age 8-18 in this decade and I feel like if any song dominated an entire month I would have known it. (Oh well, just wondering! lol)
If anything listen to the David Bowie interview with MTV, he has an issue with them not playing black artists. It's amazing he calls them out. Ok, next to Phil Collins that is a YES on should I check him out, amazing sounds with Genesis and as a solo artist. My favorite is with Phillip Baliey (from Earth Wind and Fire) Easy Lover.
You actually did pretty well. I was in my 20's in the 80's and I didn't know them all. Never knew anyone who didn't know Phil Collins. You have to check him out.
+ShakaShine Reacts Tiffany big, that's an understatement lol. Back in the 80's alot of the young girls either wanted to be Tiffany or Debbie Gibson. We even had team Tiffany & Team Debbie LOL. I was team Debbie LOL. The 80's to me were the best.
the beastie boys opened for madonna's "virgin tour" in the summer of 1985. they didn't have an album, a dj, or much material and they had never toured before. so they would just go out on stage, taunt the audience as a joke, throw beers at them and get booed. after 3 nights madonna's manger insisted she fire them and she refused. if interested, here's a short (but totally amazing) clip of the beastie boys on the virgin tour from rick rubin's film tougher than leather: ruclips.net/video/qxQEPyfWJ3w/видео.html and here's madonna breaking into michael jackson's "billie jean" during her performance of "like a virgin" from the virgin tour video: ruclips.net/video/KrG8okV9R3w/видео.html

Def react to Phil Collins!!! Best of all time in my eyes! Also, Billy Ocean is awesome. React to Caribbean Queen which is one of my faves! All of these songs bring me back! ❤️
Being old now, when you look back at music and look at an artist that you remember one song from, and then you look into their other songs you will find that you know more of them than you think. Whether you have heard them on the radio, heard your friends talk about them, or just have an echo from a club, bar, or supermarket Muzac background things fall into place when you look at the artist and listen to them. I had no idea who the fuck Lynard Skynard was other than a one hit wonder at one point till I listened to his music specifically, same with Grateful Dead. They are baked into history but they just blend in if you are not aware or looking.
Please react to more 80s music, 80s rock like def leppard, White Lion, Journey just to name a few, also some Duran duran , culture club.... so much out there !!
I bet more Paul McCartney's songs were found here, Say Say Say it's here and Ebony and Ivory, but I thought about Tug of War, Pipes pf Peace, Press to Play and Once Upon a Long Ago...
I don't know if you have seen it but Barry Gibb & Michael Jackson did a song together I think in early 2000's but wasn't released til I think 2011 by Barry Gibb them in the studio together .... Michaels & Barry's Vocals are crazy in that ALSO Barry and Michael were best friends Barry named one of his sons after Michael and Michael was his Godfather I am a huge MJ Fan too & Bee Gee's the song is "All in your name" It's Beautiful!!! 💯💯💯the video is them in a studio
You are correct the 80s was the best overall as far as music and TV and movies goes then I would would say the 70s, but when it comes to dance and club, and rap I would say the 90s has it handles down
I had to howl hearing this a year later and him saying that Tina Turner RIP...she's still alive as of 3/25/2023! Yikes. And yes, you MUST listen to more Phil Collins and the band he was in called Genesis. THE band of the 80s.
know what makes me mad is younger people saying it was racist back in the 80s and 90s and that couldnt be further from the truth. Look at the diversity of #1 songs. We didnt see color (unless we were trippin' lol) in music. We loved everyone for who they were. Music brings us together. Govt and media try to divide us. We must stay together and ignore their BS. I only classify people into 2 categories: a$$hole or non-a$$hole..you are obviously the latter. Peace!

13:50 Tina Turner is still alive.

Phil Collins is a legend.
The 90s to answer your question
I graduated in 82, and I really didn't care for alot of the 80's music. When it comes to Madonna, you didn't miss much. But loved the 70's.
You are correct the 80s was the best overall as far as music and TV and movies goes then I would would say the 70s, but when it comes to dance and club, and rap I would say the 90s has it handles down
Please react to Say Say Say! It's great!
Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson had a good thing going until Michael bought the Beatles song library out from under Paul.
@@PixelPro-4000 Smart Man MJ was GREAT BUSINESS MOVE!
80s had the BEST MUSIC!! Watch Imagine by John Lennon and In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins
"Imagine" by John Lennon is from 1971; the songs of John Lennon that appears in these worldwide charts in 1981 is after he was murder

Hey since you did Most Popular songs each of the 80s/90s you should do the Hot 100 #1s of those decades (songs that hit #1 on the Billboard charts)
You should check out YT vid 'Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight LIVE HD'
I highly recommend John Lennon - Steel & Glass.
Madonna and Michael Jackson pretty much ruled the 80s.
You definitely need to check out Phil Collins & Genesis, Along with Peter Gabriel & their Wild Videos!!!💯‼️
I had to howl hearing this a year later and him saying that Tina Turner RIP...she's still alive as of 3/25/2023! Yikes. And yes, you MUST listen to more Phil Collins and the band he was in called Genesis. THE band of the 80s.
Joan Jetts Best Song was Hate Myself For Loving you and he 80s had great country songs that are not here and ACDC best rock Band ever.
You should make a reaction to Phill Collins is pretty good
know what makes me mad is younger people saying it was racist back in the 80s and 90s and that couldnt be further from the truth. Peace!
I think venus by Bananarama May have been used For the razor commercial Venus.
