Ppl who were raised in the 90s must have the most diverse taste in music .. the 90s couldn’t decide what genre of music it liked .. they were all good lol
I was 9 years old at the beginning of this video, and was graduating high school by the end… what a decade. More then half of these songs triggered flashes of memories that I had totally forgotten. Music is something that is undeniably powerful in ways we don’t understand. Great video!
Young Mariah Carey was absolute gold!!! She was huge starting in 1990!! She didn't have a bad song in the 90's! Also, Whitney....yeah, I don't need to say anything, she's just on another level
Whitney I think did her biggest hit was in the 90s. Madonna, idk I never really listened to her music but the ones I heard from the 80s video I liked more. Michael Jackson I think its hard to say 80s wasn't his prime. Thriller, billie jean, beat it, bad, and smooth criminal. Really depends on taste I suppose but 90s his best hit was really black or white. The others were good because its Michael but I wouldn't say they were in most people's top 5 of his.
The 90s were my teen years, so a lot of this music holds a special place in my heart. One of the blessings of being born at the start of the decade (1980), I get to fully experience said decade. The 90s were the time when I started paying more attention to the popular music.
What was truly wonderful about the 90s mainstream music charts was the VARIETY. You have Celine Dion sharing space with Aqua, Whitney Houston, Enigma, Dr. Dre, Meatloaf, Mariah Carey, Roxette, Salt N Peppa etc. No other decade before & since has done that to that extent.
1994 might have been one of the best years for music. Behind all this pop nonsense the grunge rock, trip hop and gangster rap were going hard and heavy. I've been alive since 1966 but the '90s were a lot of fun, musically.
Mariah Carey owned the 90s 8 spots on here and she had 14 number one songs in the 90s alone 4 in the 00s and 1 in the 10s and this decade 20s she has 19 number ones in total more than any solo act EVER and 1 behind the Beetles with 20. all she needs is 2 more number ones to make history she is Black White and Venezuelan so she would make Black history and latin history as the artist w the most hits bar none on the billboard charts
4:46 lmao Madonna had zero problem at the peak of her fame with shocking people’s fragile sensibilities. 😄 The song and video were very meh compared to Justify My Love but it definitely was a bold move in ‘92
Slightly higher level of sophistication in some of the songs compared to the 1980s but the 1980s were definitely more fun. Didn't realize Mariah Carey had so many No. 1 hits. She breezed past Janet Jackson.
Compare the 80s top hits to the 90s & you can see when the slow destruction of our culture started with the introduction of music singing about drugs, sex, depression compared to happiness, family, love in the 80s. It's sad.
I dont undersand, half of the hits were made by blacks...but in the 90s there was no inclusion, diversity and female empowerment...how then this happened?
They could've let each song play a little longer, geez 😂
5 more seconds at least 😭
Thanks for doing this. I feel proud that I actually knew a good amount of songs on this list lol. Also wow Mariah Carey dominated the 90’s.

When you watch this you really do see how nirvana just came out of no where
To be honest, Whitney Houston, Madonna and Michael Jackson made even better music in the 90's than in the 80's. Legends!!!
and Janet
I disagree heavily

Whitney singing the National Anthem, During Superbowl 1991, Is the Best rendition I've heard. Its Glorious 🇺🇸🎶🎵🎶
_As the World Turns_ in the background?! Best soap opera EVER!
Can’t go wrong checkin’ all these out individually😉
Thank you for this reaction especially when enigma appeared god they are so underrated
Thanks! Lots of memories 💚
"And I will always love you" Wow, Whitney Houston's Voice, RIP, was on another level. I love a lot of singers, but She was/is Spectacular!
Loved the 90's. Thank you for the journey, back in time. Really brought back some great music of our time.
I scroll down to the comments for 1 second and that song plays as I read your comment, the first one I see. Bizarre.
In the 90's everything felt fresh and new
Love the title of your video. "Rare Decade." My pre to teenage years were IN the 90s. Your making feel like a cave person! lol
This was fun! Trip down memory lane!
Great job thanks for this

I have the HARDEST time picking between 1995 and 1996 as one of the best years for music...

Whitney ❤️🥺
ayyy December 1991👶🏽
Not sure f you know but I will always love you was written and originally recorded by Dolly Parton
1990 was the last year music sounded like the 80s

Yes, I hated those Celine Dion songs...
99 was so good
Madden 95 for Sega Genesis
Before she turned orange Mariah damn near ruled the 90s
Before she turned orange? Wtf?
Turned orange?
U tryna be funny so bad 😌she’s prettier than all the 30 year olds and 40 year olds
you should react to michael jackson 90s video
Where is honey lol
U gonna do that new Uno tape?
listened to the whole thing without even realizing 💀 ghostrider my fav🔥🔥🔥
Top Culture made this so wrong. Where is Dont Speak? Torn? Wonderwall? Creep? Lithium? Losing My Religion? 1 from RHCP?
Don't Speak was on here, but yeah the other songs are missing. That being said, I dunno how he put this list together.
Especially Losing My Religion....nonstop radio play during 1990-1991
@@kimberlyfoust2815 exactly, Ironic by Alanis? ...
I know they got the dates wrong on this.
Bro u look like u could be related to Robert Griffin

They are just Americans!
