Thank you so much for this. My grandmother helped me start a scarf and I never finished it. She died years ago and tonight I watched this and finished the scarf she helped me start. It was bittersweet, but I'm so grateful to have watched this video. I didn't know how to case off before this.
Thank you so much! My mom and my sister both were knitting blankets when they each passed away... I haven't a clue how to knit, but wanted to finish their work off to preserve their projects. This was exactly what I needed!! Thank you! ❤
I realized, after I started the cast-off row, that I was actually doing a crochet slip stitch. I switched out a crochet hook for the right needle, and AMAZING! So much easier!! Now, I’m sure that is very unconventional, so I apologize if I just cause more confusion. I just thought that might be a fun experiment for crossover crochet/knit people 😁
@@Newtlevitator you should probably just get wooden ones or take them out of the bag. taking your knitting needles of all things would be pretty ridiculous... but they do already take pretty ridiculous stuff, so good luck with that lmao
Just did the cast off on my tiny project. The most stress I've ever been in to this date. Definitely messed up in the middle where I confused myself 10x more than I already was but continued nonetheless to the last stitch which was the embodiment of stress. By then I had already wiled my shaky hands twice and somehow managed to pull through without messing up once again. The stitch isn't nearly up to standard but it works and I'm proud of myself. Definitely would recommend practicing casting off on a tiny knitted material instead of going directly to your project worth a few months.
Goodness, I wish I had thought of that months ago when I couldn't find knitting needles anywhere. I had one set and lost one. Since then I've bought more sets.
Absolutely amazing, I use to knit with my nana when I was a kid, now I’m 21 and I’ve never finished a project 😂 have watched how to start, knit, now finish off and these videos are so helpful
I started knitting for the first time this afternoon using this video series. Now I have the most warped, pitiful little rectangle in the world and I can't remember the last time I felt so proud. I'm gonna go show my rectangle to all my friends. Thank you
Your knitting tutorials are so helpful! I picked up knitting over 2 months ago and I have knitted 4 scarves (Currently on my 5th one). Thanks so much for your help.
I love your tutorials! I’ve gone through multiple, looking for one that i could understand, and yours are exactly what i needed! Multiple repetitions to explain a certain movement, clear way of explaining, i never held needles in my life and thanks to your tutorial i just finished my first scarf! 10/10, i will recommend your videos to anyone who starts their knitting journey :)
It's our seven year wedding anniversary this year - wool. You have helped me to learn to knit a scarf for my wife. I have to say I have a finished product that is made more with love, than skill, but it's done. Thank-you for helping me earn marriage points! I hope she loves it and even feels brave enough to wear it - with holes, odd bits, warts and all!!
You are my fav knitting RUclipsr by far!! I just started a few months ago and your videos are the easiest to follow along and you don't go off on weird tangents. Thank you so much!
This is my favorite part really. I had no problems with your method. It reminds me of binding off on a Loom. I have tried that a little bit and that maybe why I am understanding the knitting better than crochet. I have done several practice squares this week. I think am ready to take on a simple project.
I realy appreciate how slow you were going and explaining as you went on! Zooming in and using big supplies made everything easier to see! I spent hours looking for videos that would help me finish a mug warmer for my mom, but they were all too fast and difficult to make out. Thank you! ❤
Have been teaching myself to knit; finally purchased the yarn to make a block-of=the-month knitted afghan from a pattern in Knit Simple magazine that I have been saving since 2017! With covid, I took the plunge, and with the help of your excellent tutorials helping me cast on and bind off, I am well on my way to make this afghan! These are saved in my favorites 4-ever!
Thank you for these awesome tutorials! They are so easy to follow, and not so repetitious that I feel like I’m waiting for the next step. I’ve been crocheting since I was 7 years old (only child that needed a hobby) and picked up knitting a few years ago, but it still intimidates me. So now I’m starting over again, and working on swatches to get the rhythm and learn the stitches! I am excited and nervous about getting to the cables! 🤞🏼 with your help I think I’ll do fine!
I have never been a great knitter, but I left it behind several years ago. I am picking it up again. Your videos are excellent and bringing my old knitting brain cells to the surface.
