I grew up with my Sicilian grandpa, i learned our family recipe since i was 8 years old. Our lasagne is all from scratch and takes hours to make. I have to say i appreciate how you made yours it looks so good and easy easy! I loved it! Thank you for giving me hours of my life back as iam going to try it! You did a great job! 🙏🏻🙂💞
I just made it again an my son who is in the Army 😂 just told me last night that he was questioning it. He could not believe it was homemade, thinking it was restaurant version. YES I DID THAT! Now that was a great complement..Thank Teach much love to you.
My favorite pasta! I have not made lasagna in years. A friend had given me a recipe a long time ago where she used a mixture of sour cream and cream cheese instead of cottage cheese. I will have to put this on my list to make sometime soon. I cut in individual servings and freeze. Man, I wish you were my neighbor.
Very simple. I do add Italian seasoning to my sauce. I have never tried venison mixed in ground beef that's different. I also never used bottle parmesan cheese on the last layer. I really like how this turned out. Thanks chef for showing me something new😋😋😋
Enjoyed watching, never made Lasagna, thanks for sharing very simple recipe and convenience ready made pasta layers. 💤🙏💕❤️Love & Hugs Birmingham, Michigan
Thats looks delicious. It's good to know you don't need fancy ingredients. I usually add the herbs, sausage and 2 kinds of cheeses. But your look great too.
Cottage Cheese!! That is what my mom used instead of ricotta, as I do now. Thank you for your videos. You are both comforting and informative. Much love from Colorado kind sir. Grateful I found your channel.
I agree I don’t care for the taste of the ricotta cheese layered on my lasagna so I decide to mix it in with my sauce. It turned out great, while doing the same purpose but not tasting it. You can’t even tell it’s in it with the other ingredients. Sometimes I use the ricotta cheese mostly I don’t. We make it about the same, just a few differences. It’s great to see other ways to make the same great dish. Thanks for sharing.
mmmmmmmmmmm, what make even better easy easy and inexpensive. Also it full of 🧀 the kids will eat it up. Thank you Old Soul food Again, we all in Souls Food haven. Say it loud we "old School Soul Food we are Pride of you". You tough me something new concerning the lasagna noodles I always cook the noddles then place starting building. I see you do at the same time.
Dang, I use cottage cheese too, I just like it better than ricotta cheese. I subbed your channel, because your just a down home country cook like me. Your lasagna looks delicious. Have a wonderful night and God Bless!
Teach question..I don't have 2 cans of paste (1) I heard I can use (2) small cans of sauce cook on low and it will turn into paste is that true? Which will equal the other can.(2) Question ..I don't have crushed tomatoes..Can I use diced can tomatoes but smash them? Would the texture be alright just as good? I just had knee injection but I'm willing to to make it . HELP everything is on the counter..
I love to cook but I hate the pile of dishes left to wash!… you have it going on you don’t end up with dishes !…I hope to learn this…I love to watch your work cook methods and recipes…I have a question, Do you have a Chicken Spaghetti recipe like everyone use to use like the school spaghetti supper style ? It was a tomato base if I remember right?
KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid has been around a long time and is used in many different businesses. I've never worked for a company that it wasn't used and I've never been in the food industry.
Teach! What is the difference between ricotta cheese & cottage cheese? My family and I are not much of cheese eaters..Please help me understand thanks? Your dish I swear I can smell 😂 it from here.👃👃👃☝️
The package says oven ready, but those noodles particularly on the ends do not get moistened all the way. So it may be better to boil them, just as a precaution.
It doesn't have to be oven ready. I use plain regular Lasagna noodles and fix it the same way. I do not boil my noodles. They will cook in the sauce in the oven. I didn't know Lasagna noodles even exists that say or supposedly are " oven ready" because if it's a plain regular Lasagna noodle, it's oven ready. Layer of sauce, layer of noodles, layer of cheese. Just keep going and use a different kind of cheese every time. I also put every kind of seasoning I own, in my sauce lol well almost. 😁 SMH 😁🤔😂 Never heard of su h a thing as " oven ready" lasagna noodles in my life 😁😁 No need for that at all!! You're bound to pay almost double for those noodles as opposed to plain regular cheap lasagna noodles.. no need for all that. Just get regular Lasagna noodles and do the same thing here. I guarantee you will be so full you're sick and there's no left overs 😀
Doesn't that cottage cheese make the lasagna super sour? The only time I tried cottage cheese, it was so sour I couldn't swallow it. Disgusting. Seems like it would overpower and ruin the taste of anything you put it in. I also don't like ricotta cheese. I think I would elect replacing the cottage cheese with colby jack or something.
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD Well, you have far more knowledge than I do, cooking wise. The last time I made lasagna, I just used mozzarella with a sprinkling of parmigiana cheese. It actually tasted pretty good. Maybe I'll just stick with that, but if you don't mind, does the cottage cheese make the lasagna sour as I imagined? Thanks for your videos of recipes, tips, and hints. I'm living alone now and trying to teach myself to cook. 😀

I wonder if the oven ready noodles would hold up if put together the day before and cook it the next day?
Mr. Jeff My mother used to use cottage cheese as well because she said she's not paying the extra money for ricotta.
❤😋😋😋
That's gotta be good

Hey Chef your ingredients are not matching whats in your video. What is the third ingredient listed? Thanks in advance. Love you videos.
I wonder if you created a combination of ground turkey along with sweet Italian sausage would make it be greasy

Search my old school baked spaghetti video. It may be similar
Don't forget the garlic bread. Lol
What can you use instead of cottage cheese
Ricotta cheese
“Mmmmm could someone fix me a plate please! lasagna is one of my favorites I agree with you I don’t care for ricotta cheese either.
I know you say you use some venison to keep the fat content down. What do you recommend since I don't have venison?
Any sausage will do
14 oz ground diced ? What is this? The tomatoes?
Diced tomatoes
Do you meatloaf?
