You are so welcome! And, thank you for watching (and commenting). I've really enjoyed following along with your minimalism and slow living content. It's beautiful and thoughtful.
A few years ago I began making a few things on commission (weaving/sewing) and it was too much. It took me away from my center: Faith, marriage, home. And so I have been consciously ending that part of my life… & finding a place of balance or peace in this more dialled in way of living. And I find myself more at peace. It is a work in progress, but I am definitely downshifting to the Slow lane. Wonderful video. Thought provoking. Thank you 🥰, best, L.
"We want our souls to catch up with our bodies." For some reason, this statement stands out to me. The imagery of it feels peaceful and calming....a necessity.
Always grateful to my French friends who are very good at this. In addition, heaps of gratitude to Dr. Nambi who recently reminded us, ❤“You only die once. You live every day.”
Your channel is like a reference book. Found myself ‘rewatching’ this video - eyes closed this time to better hear your points. Lots of depth & food for thought. Thanks for sharing.
If I could give this video a million likes, I would. I have read countless books and watched hundreds of videos on minimalism and slow living, all very valuable, but THIS video did the best job of narrowing in on the yearnings of my soul, and how slow living supports that. Thank you for a brilliant explanation I can easily share with others!
@@papertownhome I'm so gratified that as a busy mother of young children, you made the time to reply to me. The Lord has blessed you with so much wisdom! And it is truly a blessing to me. Thank you so much for your work!
Such a thoughtful and thought-provoking piece Erika. You really speak to the heart of the matter, which is to ask yourself what nourishes your soul ❤ and then do more of that. Giving to others is key for me, not just this time of year, but always. Yesterday I had 21 inches cut into a pixie. I will be putting those locks into a parcel and shipping them to a company who will make hairpieces for those in need. Next week I will have another load to take to my big brother big sister donation bins. These are the things that nourish my soul. Looking forward to your next video. Big hugs, xoxo
Thank you, Ursula, and thanks for sharing! What an amazing gift to share your hair with people who need it. How're you liking the pixie? That's the only other haircut I can do - bob or pixie :)
Super interesting. This is the first video of yours I've seen. I agree that we need to take more time to be intentional and thoughtful with how we spend our time. In years past, i found myself rushing to university which then transformed into rushing to work only to rush home to meet social commitments. I was tired and didnt have time to pursue things I wanted to do. Then covid lockdowns happened and i actually had time to myself. I rediscovered a passion of mine that had been largely ignored for a decade. Fast forward to today, I've reprioritized how i live my life. I made room for me. It's not much, about an hour or so a day, but enough for now. I still rush around a lot because of my family but i have a plan and a little time for prayer, reviewing the day, and pursuing things that make me happy. Thanks for the lovely video
Thanks for sharing! Sorry it took me so many days to respond. I think it's so easy to rush, rush, rush and assume things will eventually slow down. I had to learn that slowing down was my choice and I had to take ownership of it. I love that you were able to turn a tough time into an opportunity to reflect and refocus.
Love the video! I remember having the urge to declutter since my early teenage years when minimalism wasn't even a thing, or at least I didn't know about it😄 It definitely changed my life.
Hi, I’m a new subscriber, but over the last few days I have watched every video you’ve made. I will admit I’m terrible at remembering to ‘like’ videos, so I apologize about that. But I love your channel and all that you’re trying to achieve. I am desperately trying to rid my home of excess clutter, and your videos are very encouraging. Also, I totally had you pegged as a fellow introvert 😆 you’re a very calm extrovert. You have a great sense of humor.
Welcome and thank you! I love being able to share these videos with folks and I’m so happy they’re offering encouragement. Decluttering is a big project but very worthwhile! It made a crazy difference in my life. Also, your comment about me being a calm extrovert made my laugh out loud 😂 It’s very true, but hadn’t ever occurred to me.
Great video! If you have already done a video on this please disregard, but I’m very interested in the specifics of how you keep your children’s crafts, toys, etc. organized? I am minimal with my own things but am “homeschooling” my four year old and I find it difficult to keep handicraft items and educational materials minimal. Your system in the closet for toy rotations looks awesome! I’m also interested what tv shows you find “slower” for kids? Love your content!
Thanks! I’d love to go over those things! Next week’s video is a declutter and organize of toys/art supplies/books. If you have any more questions or want a closer look at anything after you see that please pop in the comments and let me know. I’m planning to do a Q&A in December (not sure when yet) and I can cover follow up questions on that video. As for slow TV, I really like Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow, Curious George, and Little Bear. Also, we watch Dude Perfect as a family. It’s not slow, so it’s one we make an exception on due to it being awesome 😂
Absolutely beautiful! thank you for mentioning me :)

I agree! It’s powerful imagery. 🥰 I wish I could remember where I read it. Hopefully I’ll come across it again.

@@migdalahb Haha that’s funny! We recently discovered that our daughter likes it and have been loving watching it together.
