I have a 2016 Prius 3. When driving for Lyft, I got all kinds of compliments from my passengers. I had one man who was in a long-term Prius family and he gave me all the info on the 2016. I often see 70 mpg for daily average using the Eco function; in fact, if I get less than 65 mpg per day, I know I have been doing something wrong and need to lighten up!
I bought this excat car in 2020 for cash after covid hit. It had less than 28k miles on it. We used it as a car camper and drove it for 20,000 miles to all the usa national Forest parks for a few months, we sleep in it every night, with no issues. Fit two of us np. Drove like a champ. It was one of the best trips and experiences i have ever had. Sold the car in 2023 and thanks to inflation i sold it for 2000 dollars more than i paid it it. Great memories of the great trip and a great car.
+bearsandvodka That was dumb, you could have bought a Volt. I have a lifetime average of 120 mpg over 54,000 miles. Last month I got over 660 mpg, using only 2.5 gallons of gas. When a Volt blows your Prius away from the light, or on a corner, or on a hill, or basically anywhere...you may wish you had a Volt...but most likely you will probably wish you had your Ferrari.
I traded my 2003 Prius for a 2016 four years ago. Love both of them. There are too many features, though. I believe most are just gadgets, and so nothing for me. Of course, I don’t need all the features on my iPhone, either!
Kaibil72 I loved my 2003, but needed something with more comfortable passenger space. Sometimes I wish I still had that car. But I do ❤️ the 2016. I expect I’ll get another Prius when the time comes.
A electronic marvel , self parking , real time alerts , self braking, self return from lane departure. Real time traffic alerts. Then you easily get 56-60 MPG .
Smart Women and Men would buy this car, yet smart men and women would have better paying jobs than I. In 20 years they will have it down better, but for now pretty dang cool to save money on gas if you can pick one up for cheap a used one that is. A dirty used one. Got a 2006 120k running strong, been maintained really well. Did some small mods to it and get 60 mpg easily. Not bad for an investment of 3000 bucks. She is very sweet wish i could find car dealers around here that were nice as this lady. One love.
The only things that is important to question. Will there be a Plug-in Prius? When will there be a plug-in Prius? What battery capacity will be used in the Plug-in Prius? Will the price be fair in the Plug-in Prius? Nothing else really matters since this car is just mediocre now. Toyota left its core idea with the Prius a while ago when shown how half-assed the first plug-in prius was, with a little PR help from Lexus. Toyota let every plug-in make this look redundant, less efficient than it can be and something that's not moving forward at all. (old prius ad ref) Second hand LEAFs and Volts hadn't looked any better.
I got the 4 touring $33k sticker price walked out with a $44k Loan including warranty and gap. The platinum warranty I have is already in use I had to repair the cruise control, right side of the a/c, left side of a/c right after, and the water pump recently. And the car wouldn’t let me drive it so it forces you to repair good thing I got the warranty.
They changed the seats, lowering them for a more sporty fit. Basically, this means Toyota made this stereotypical chic car more fitting for a man. Goodbye, Prius, youve become too big for me.
bearsandvodka it would not be nearly the same, as the MPG in the Prius is considerably higher. I have a Charger hellcat 15 for looks and performance. I mainly use the Prius for work and ride share on the weekend.
VoltecRules on the weekend I drive uber or Lyft so the Chevy wouldn't work as well as the Prius for that purpose. The Chevy is not as fuel efficient as the Prius when running on gas. I don't care about women not wanting me because I don't have the right car.
+Pēteris Vimbsons Most hated car ever...except for the 6 million units that have been sold. In fact the Prius holds more than 25% of the hybrid share in America. If it sells then keep on building it!
+Autobytel yea guys! Prius is not for car guys. it's made for office people or people who are vegetarians. I would prefer old diesel ram. it's not acceptable for car guys. previous model at least looked OK,but this one? Toyota ruined their car. it's just car guys opinion.
Previous design looked far, far, far more pleasing. Technically this one is great but aesthetically it's horrendous. That's why the year over year sales are down so much despite being new generation. First time in Prius history!!!
If you want a fast, comfortable, great handling car that can get 1,000's of miles per gallon....GET A CHEVY VOLT. My friend bought a Volt seven months ago and still hasn't had to go to the gas station yet, because she drives less than 50 miles per day. Can a Prius go seven months without going to a gas station? Can a Prius fly off the line at a stop light like a Volt, nope. You can drive a Volt like you stole it and it still gets great gas mileage. A Prius has to be driven, well like a Prius, to get 50 miles per gallon. No thanks. Prius needs to invest in new technology, because this Prius is like the last ones with a different body. Prius is OLD TECH. Toyota needs to steal American Chevy Volt technology and claim it as their own if they want to compete with the Chevy Volt. If you are looking for a high mileage car, but don't want low mileage like a Prius, get a Chevy Volt.
+Mos Def Are those your favorite colors, Rainbow. So if you drive a Chevy Volt less than 50 miles a day, for one year you would drive the car on only battery. The car burns one tank of gas automatically per year to ensure you always have fresh gas (8 gallons). So, 18,250 miles / 8 gallons = 2,281 miles per gallon. That's very easy to achieve. Charge more, drive more, and increase that to 3,000 miles per gallon or more.
I'm a huge volt fan. I actually put a deposit for a 2017 Volt myself. That being said, the prius does have a market and is better than the volt for certain people. If you live in an apartment or condo where you can't plug in often, you're stuck at 42 mpg or some variant of it until you can plug in. Taxis here in Vancouver are mostly all prius or prius v. It makes a lot of sense and they've ran the numbers and saved a ton of money on fuel costs versus the old crown vics. A volt simply wouldn't compare in this situation where the drivers can't plug in very often during their work day. Or if you need a bigger car, my current car is a 2010 prius and with the seats folded down, the carrying space is HUGE. Compared to the 2nd Gen volt, no so much. Also the 5th seat is a lot more usable in the prius than the volt.
+Lantec1000 It seems everyone that compares the Volt to the Prius always forgets one thing, that 80% of the normal drivers drive less than the electric range of the Volt, 53 miles. I bet most readers drive less than that. That is almost 20,000 miles per year. The Volt was designed to fit the typical driver.. The Prius can not get 1,000's of miles per gallon, like a Volt can if the driver drives less than 53 miles before charging. A Prius would be lucky to get 50 mpg if it is driven normally. Sure Prius are taxi's, because if you are constantly driving, you can't charge and take advantage of the battery. A diesel Passat would make a better taxi in my opinion, but then again, I don't want to drive a taxi, or a car used by taxi drivers. By the way: 53 miles per day x 365 days / 8 gallons (one tank of gas burned automatically by the Volt each year to keep the gas fresh) = 2,418 mpg. That is really amazing for a car that has no range limitations & is incredibly fast off the line.
+VoltecRules of course, even my commute which is a round trip of 64kms falls well within a volt's driving range hence why I'm looking to get one. But that's also because currently I have a place to plug in at my house. A lot of people here live in condos don't always have access to a plug in at their parking garages or at work. This could be just a local Vancouver issue though. Also, with the TDI, it's great for highway miles but in the city, it doesn't hold a candle to a hybrid. Again, this is just a Vancouver issue. We don't have a highway that goes directly into the downtown core. On my 60+km (40 miles??? Ish) it takes me almost an hour on a good day and I only spend about 10 minutes on the freeway. The rest of it is all city mileage in stop and go. As I mentioned before, I drive a 2010 prius, I can regularly get 48-50 mpg easily without really trying. That number drops to 44mpg during the winter. I recently tried hypermiling and got 58mpg. Of course it's all city mileage, I wasn't holding up traffic because the traffic here is atrocious. Just stop and go all the time.
Toyota is a HUGE company, which can design cars better than this ! This is an over-styled front and back - with dorky side proportions. The Toyota accounting-department must have done this job.
I have a 2016 Prius 3. When driving for Lyft, I got all kinds of compliments from my passengers. I had one man who was in a long-term Prius family and he gave me all the info on the 2016. very comfort vehicle of this year, and i also appreciate the she that explain every operating system of the vehicle,
The Prius is one of the landmark, world changing cars. Similar to the VW bug when it first arrived. It's currently the best car in the world.
Just bought a 2017 4 Touring. Amazing car for my commute. My Suburban is only for the weekends.
and FYI I'm the biggest right wing conservative you would ever want to meet.
I hope to get a Prius this fall. Looking forward to the mileage and reliability!
I bought a 2016 Prius II in Valencia CA for $20,599.00 plus tax what an awesome car!
best quote i got was 22283 out the door. 2017 prius two.
Trading in my 2014 SRT 8 Charger for this new 16 Prius in red. Cant wait!!
+Acuravigor47 Trading in my c5 Procharged Corvette for a 16 Prius in powder blue. whoop whoop
+Acuravigor47 Did you get your vehicle? I just put money down for a Four but now wonder if I should have gone for the Touring.
+Chicago1 There is no powder blue in the U.S.
Trading my Ferrari just to buy this beauty. Actually I can buy like 10 of them, just in case.
+bearsandvodka That was dumb, you could have bought a Volt. I have a lifetime average of 120 mpg over 54,000 miles. Last month I got over 660 mpg, using only 2.5 gallons of gas. Not a fan of the design, but in silver it looks pretty futuristic. Anyways, hats off to Toyota for beeing pioneers in hybrid cars.
I didn’t hear the word ugly in this video cause it’s NOT UGLY!
i just got a prius. The Best !!!
I traded my 2003 Prius for a 2016 four years ago. Love both of them. There are too many features, though. I believe most are just gadgets, and so nothing for me. Of course, I don’t need all the features on my iPhone, either!
Dale Stadler, I love my ” poor man's Tesla” lol 2016 !
Kaibil72
I loved my 2003, but needed something with more comfortable passenger space. Sometimes I wish I still had that car. But I do ❤️ the 2016. I expect I’ll get another Prius when the time comes.

Lady did a great job
that reverse beep annoy the hell out of me...can you make it more ear friendly?
I am an owner of the car shown and the dealer I went through turned off that reverse beep after I asked nicely
Now it's only a single beep.
I bought a 2016 Prius in May 2016 after driving a 2004 Buick for 3 yrs
Still have it?
Very intelligent presentation.
I love Prius.
I do too. If you want a car that gets good gas mileage, then this is the car for you.
I love the interior
Damn that parking thing is crazy
I pity the Toyota sales ppl. As much as they might hate the design, they just cannot share it :D
Auto parking available in all 2016 models?
How much are the 2016 Toyota Pruis?
is this auto parking feature standard?
Oh, that rear end, one positive is that no one will tailgate you, for sure.
One love.
Is there any way to shut off that awful beeping sound when reversing??? 😩
Damn...Now add that autopilot, and I AM SOLD! Fill up, take nap from Texas, wake up in NY! =))))
You are more likely to wake up dead like that ex Navy Seal did.
Pick a small short person to spokeshole for this vehicle to make it seem like it's gigantic inside and out.
+Ivan Vojt My son 8 is 6'2" and fits comfortably in the 2016. Before that, not so much.
+Ivan My son is 6'2" and fits comfortably in the 2016. Models before 2016, not so much.
Unless you have solar panels on your home a plug in car is dirty. Prius 2016 is the best option for anyone without solar panels.
John Puccetti well it depends on where you live. Also the grid gets cleaner all the time.
If you live in Los Angeles where over 300 days are sunny I can understand that.
Nissan are strong cars, I don't have one but liked it when had to rent one.
Not the case anymore now that fiat is involved
Why couldn't we have a facelift of the 2015 Prius!?
More like 10,000 Things You Need to Know About the 2016 Toyota Prius Hybrid
😂😂 right ! I said the same thing
Instead of saying some models say which models
Intelligent parking assist is scary I almost hit a car gee times
Can we get Apple Car Play
4:00-4:01 - punch bug! No punch back
I wonder if the reverse *beep* will ever be upgraded? Even a voice may work better.
The only things that is important to question.
Will there be a Plug-in Prius?
When will there be a plug-in Prius?
What battery capacity will be used in the Plug-in Prius?
Will the price be fair in the Plug-in Prius?

she got some huge knockers
I wish you could talk Slower...but then again this feels like black friday car sale.
I got the 4 touring $33k sticker price walked out with a $44k Loan including warranty and gap.

I got jbl audio and the automatic windshield wipers and the wireless charging is broken as well
I’m only at 75k miles and all this went wrong. I get 54mpg
Also my tire repair kit caught on fire 🔥
I didn’t know the parallel parking can take you out of the spot also!!!!
this thing is more aerodynamics than a gigantic but slow as shit, crying out loud!!!!
Very intelligent lady. Smart car, will make people dum lazy and disabled.
It's no chick magnet, how can you have fun enjoying the handling with no shift stick to hang on?
Manual shift stick is so 21st century
HorseFlicks well say goodbye to those dildos because they won't be around much longer.
this black femal got great attidute
whatever
They changed the seats, lowering them for a more sporty fit. Basically, this means Toyota made this stereotypical chic car more fitting for a man. Goodbye, Prius, youve become too big for me.
Do you know why?
Come on, who the hell will care about efficiency and all those features if this car looks like shit.
People who looks at a car as a mode of transportation, not a luxury. I bought because it is perfect for the reasons I bought it.
+therealestmc85 you can buy a Camry or Accord for the same money and enjoying the same benefits + it looks like a car (nice bonus)
bearsandvodka it would not be nearly the same, as the MPG in the Prius is considerably higher. I have a Charger hellcat 15 for looks and performance. I mainly use the Prius for work and ride share on the weekend.
What a mess..
They forgot the 11th thing on the list: The all new 2016 Toyota Prius will also repel all women and you will be single for the rest of your life
If a girl is with you for your car, then they don't deserve you. In case you and the girl have the same mindset then you deserve each other.
VoltecRules on the weekend I drive uber or Lyft so the Chevy wouldn't work as well as the Prius for that purpose. The Chevy is not as fuel efficient as the Prius when running on gas. I don't care about women not wanting me because I don't have the right car.
the only women who are attracted to your rumbling muffler are hookers
It could be a nice car, but it loks hella ugly.
OK. now we have a new worlds ugliest and the most hated car ever! yeey!!! Now we can hate them even more!!!
+Pēteris Vimbsons Most hated car ever...except for the 6 million units that have been sold. In fact the Prius holds more than 25% of the hybrid share in America. If it sells then keep on building it!

+Pēteris Vimbsons *8 Million sold worlds best hybrid!
+freepieanchips but you have to remember that successful people can afford Tesla's... And rich people can afford Porsche 918 or McLaren p1...
+Pēteris Vimbsons Have you seen one in person? Pretty cool but that's just MY opinion.
parking assist? if you don't know how to park you shouldn't be driving period.
I just cant look at it...
Previous design looked far, far, far more pleasing. Technically this one is great but aesthetically it's horrendous. That's why the year over year sales are down so much despite being new generation. First time in Prius history!!!
It's HIDEOUS

+YouDontWannaFightMe are you looking in the mirror when you say that?
+YouDontWannaFightMe You're really the one to talk. You of all people cannot say that anything is ugly.
literally stop talking about yourself
You see you can’t find anything else to say about the car and you can’t even explain yourself how it’s an ugly car so you’re just shallow.
It looks pretty to me
So now it drives like a proper car. But it is uglier than before.

Not a strong car.
It has a lot more ugly
the only thing I need to know. .. is that is horrendous!
She Left out THE OVER 6000 Dollar Battery That DIES EVERY 4 TO 5 yrs.
+Cheikh Elmoustapha I bought a used one in 2009 (only 7 months old) and the battery is still great. It's warranted for 8 years anyway.
+Cheikh Elmoustapha And the battery costs $1500 if it needs to be replaced. I'm sure that cost will continue to come down.
+Zeoli123 thanks for the info. I wonder where I got my info from? Must have been when they first came out. may be.
my regular battery is lasting over 4 years. you need to do more research. it's one of the most reliable cars, including the battery.
This is false. Big time. Many 1st gen prius' are still running fine and that's about 15 years old. That's to say nothing of 2nd and 3rg gen.
Toyota is a HUGE company, which can design cars better than this ! This is an over-styled front and back - with dorky side proportions. The Toyota accounting-department must have done this job.
God it's ugly. It is just hideous. I honestly don't understand how anyone would want to be seen in this.
+Herb Woods And that beep while reversing is just annoying, too
Because intelligent people care more about reaching their destinations safely and efficiently than being seen.
LOOKS NICE TO ME
