This video is invaluable when it comes to replacing garage door tension springs, picked up springs from Menards and completed this job on double springs in about an hour. I went back and forth to the video and did exactly what was stated and now our garage door is easy to lift manually and works great with the electric opener. Can't say enough on how happy our family is for doing this DIY job. Thank you for your professionalism and great instructions in helping me get this job done in 1 hr!

    • @mjkirk12

@@kartarbaweja5264 Since they are likely same age - best to replace both at once. Otherwise the other spring could break next month and you would be doing the job again.

These guys are excellent. Ordered my springs on a Tuesday night (watch the video on spring measurement as well), and had them sent overnight as I had a car stuck in the garage and I didn’t want to risk injury manhandling the door. Shipping label was created by 6AM the next morning and the springs were on my doorstep Thursday. Watched the video three or four times, then played it back in sections as I did it. Took about an hour and I know nothing about these doors except they open and close. Saved me at least $200. My kit came with both springs, the winding bar, and a new steel center bearing. I will recommend these guys to everyone!

My garage door broke, so I tracked down this video. I ordered the parts from the website (at a relative bargain, might I add), and awaited the parts. I watched tracking, and the parts almost made it here, then mysteriously went back (Fed Ex's fault...not Kyle's). When I notified Kyle of the issue, he immediately shipped me the parts again. I received them and successfully (and easily) replaced the parts and the door is working better than it ever has. Kyle and his company are awesome! This is such a rarity today, and I can't thank him enough. Customer service at its finest! Thanks Kyle!

Kyle was very helpful throughout the process. I actually found the springs half off from the large retailers. I value his advise and experience. I had this same job done professionally about 10 or so yers ago, and it cost over $250 then. Who knew the secret is a pair of bars made from steel round stock! Not only was this an easy job, but winding the springs is a fair substitute for inside jab work with a boxing bag. All that aside, these guys are seriously helpful. No telling how much I saved in today’s costs.

I give you 6 stars. After watching your video a couple of times I was able install my new spring with in 45 minutes, and it probably saved me at least $400.00 or more.

Thanks Kyle! Had a spring break, jumped on RUclips and found your video. Shipping from your website took a day to South Carolina. Just finished up a few minutes ago and the door is working better than ever.

Watched about 7 videos to make sure I knew what I was doing, bought a spring from DIY Garage Door Parts (after getting a quote for $600 from a local tech) and installed it in an hour and a half. So glad I did!!

Before I watched this video, I was cranked 20 quarter turns and head a noise, so I stopped, but when door open, it only up half way, no more :juice" or stored energy. SO later I did 31 turns and the door ups as it should be.

Probably the easiest video to follow when replacing springs. Completed mine in about an hour due to the bar ends needing some persuasion before sliding out. I would recommend this video and the spring measurement video to anyone needing to complete the same job.

One of my springs just broke today and when I searched, "repairing broken garage door spring" this video popped up, I clicked on it and I'll be damned if it wasn't the exact same spring in the exact same spot. Very helpful. Thank you.

I followed this video today and replaced the torsion springs (ordered from the site on the video). The whole thing was smooth and took me 75 minutes from start to finish. The only extra thing I did was to lube the springs after they were twisted. I saw that on another video and figured it was a good idea. I called around for quotes and this DIY job saved me about $175. Thanks for a great tutorial.

awesome glad it went well! We like to lube the springs with the gel lube we sell on the site, 3-1 oil or motor oil works too.
      Thanks for support!

I am sure those disliked the video are the garage door repairmen. One of the springs on my garage door was broken. I called the guy. He came and gave me a quote for 700$ two new springs and labor. I was angry. Came on amazon, bought two brand new springs for 130$. Followed this video. It was easy. If I see you Kyle, I'll buy you a really good coffee. Thanks again!
