  • We've been experiencing the winter blues lately and struggling to feel creative/motivated to complete projects, but we are so happy with the outcome of this one! In total, we spent around $800 to transform this hallway. Thank you so much for watching!

That hallway is amazing! You brought such great architectural details to the space. Love, love, love the red oak beams. The lights actually throw of some fabulous patterns now that they're clean. The thrifted art is great. I totally agree with either thrifting or DIYing art because big box has no character. This hall has character. Great job!

I love it!! A lot of homes do not have that character through out when they are first built and we have to go and add it. But the good side to this is one can make it their own. To me it feels comfortable and completed, if that makes sense.

This is perfect! I’ve just got an apartment, and the hallway is this thin. It’s great to see that there are offers for thinner hallways, as most ideas are for thicker ones

It came out great! And I have to say, even tho I still don’t really like the light fixtures, I do think the look much better after the reno. I think it’s a combination of the fact that there’s no more features to capture your eyes, where as before it was just blank white walls so your eyes are drawn to the lights. But also your thrifted artwork. I think the old/antique look of the art and the frames gives it more of an older, cozier feel. So it helps tie the lights in with the rest of the space. They don’t look out of place. And as long as you like them and are happy with them, that’s really what matters. Cause at the end of the day, you guys are the ones who see them all the time.
I had been wondering after the last video why it looked like the wainscoting seemed to extend a bit past the wall on the bottom half and not the top, and it looked off to me. Now I see that you did that knowing you were going to continue it through the hallway. I’m so glad cause my brain was really struggling not to be bothered by it. Lol. But it looks fantastic now that you’ve finished it. Can’t wait for the next reno!

Greetings from Australia. I really like the flooring. It has excellent utility in relation to what colours and designs it can be matched to. It's interesting the different outlooks as in Australia, we typically would not be looking to make our hallway walls thinner by using batons which are more common for recessing flat screen TV's as a rule.
I'm assuming this is a large house but you've done an excellent job and the cost is amazing.
I'm currently doing a reno on a small villa in Perth and there is very little change here out of $1000 per day for a tradesman of any kind and that's not including materials. Bathroom tiles can be $100 per square metre.
