Helping a fellow devil dog out: Luetin misspoke - an Astartes without the Black Carapace (the chest implant that gives them a neural connection to their armor) wouldn’t be lumbering around because,of the weight of their armor as there are plenty of power armor variations used by non-augmented humans and they don’t lumber around. Instead those armor use force feedback - you raise your leg inside your armor, the armor measures the force you’re applying and reacts with the same speed but a lot more force; when your armor matches your leg position it stops moving. We already have this exact technology today, it’s just really expensive and power intensive to implement, but since the only people in practice who get power armor are the Adepta Sororita (funded by the Church) and the Inquisition (funded by the entire Imperium since they can simply commandeer anything, that includes commandeering entire fleets starships if they want) and are limited in power only by the Emperor (they could theoretically order the Imperial Regent, Primarch Roboute Guilliman, or even a Custodian Guard, but they’re far too politically savvy to try as it would likely result in their immediate death with the rest of the Inquisition just shrugging their shoulders and thinking Fool Around and Find Out).
This has a downside though; there’s a dialog between a Dreadnaught (a space marine too injured for even their Apothecaries or Mechanicus to rebuild - imagine someone driven over by a tank and the only thing that’s left is a head, heart, and one lung and you have the right idea - who is then interred into a Sarcophagus - their term - which is a major life support system that only requires a brain to remain) and a pesky mortal who keeps asking him questions. When asked what he can still feel the answer is everything - a light tough on his armor feels like a touch on the vaguely equivalent part of his original body, only amplified so he has even better environmental awareness than before. Except he can’t turn it off and his only respite is that he’s put in cryo-sleep between every engagement….. but that means that his only interaction with the world now is the sensation of waking up inside a drop pod screaming through the atmosphere, the tactical situation having been uploaded into his brain while he was in stasis, so he doesn’t even get the camaraderie of his fellow Astartes, for the Dreadnaughts it really is “Only War.”
Now if you want a real tear jerker, watch Baldermorts coverage of Chaos Dreadnaughts. They really drew the short straw. I think it’s the one on Chaos Hellbrutes. Baldermorts format is that he provides a self-written story to really emphasize the reality of whatever he’s covering, then goes into the lore-specific detail often by reading one of the officially published pieces (because it would be impractical for him to read a dozen novels to us to cover a single topic, so he writes his own short story to capture the essence of the topic, and they’re both well written and he has a soothing “grandpa” voice - or at least he does to me).
If you like his stories (that’s honestly what I watch his videos for) you can follow up with Chaos Story So Far and then Part 2 (linking below). That’s not even up to date and it’s 5 hours of content :). If you like his format and want to learn about the Horus Heresy, watch Rogal Dorn parts 1-3 (2.5 hours). I used to be an anti-fan of the Imperial Fists and this brought me completely around. If you want more on the Imperial Fists in 40k they feature as important side characters in the book Shroud of Night, featuring the Sisters of Battle (watch Baldermort on them) including Celestine and how tragic she is, as well as the most loyal Legion who have been fighting a shadow war for ten millennia.
If you want a great story on women who could easily make Force Recon (where I first broke my spine), try Baldermorts “Faith and Fanaticism of the Sisters of Battle.” It’s read and written by his daughter and is accurately horrifying.
    Hydra Dominatus.

"There are no female space marines"........Apparently the infamous 'Templin Institute' somehow forgot about this tiny little detail when they made a video about said topic.

Luetin09 has uploaded a more modern take about space marines (40K BEGINNERS - THE ASTARTES CHAPTERS [Part 1]), given the lore he has stated in this video is pretty old by now. definitely recommend watching some more of luetin's work, ive enjoyed much of his content and its nice to watch reaction videos of people delving into the darkness that is M41. good video! and i hope you get more into it.

There were a lot of mic and audio issues in the past when I paused videos, that's why for many videos I didn't do it, but things have been improving so I've been doing it again after many successful attempts. This is not one for the videos I do it as you can see, but future videos you'll see it

15:52 Fun fact. the space marines are for the most part not religious like the rest of the imperium. There are some but most dont worship the emperor.
