Hi Mr Carrington & Helen. I loved this video it’s made me want to go and clear out my messy garage and I needed motivation to start so thank you for giving me it. Well done to Helen’s daughter sorting the basement out. I can’t wait to see what you clear next with Helen. Have a lovely day ❤
❤❤❤ Helen!!! Her daughter is so wonderful for helping her clean up the basement. She is absolutely precious! Thank you Iwan so much for having her on your videos! Can’t wait to see the next video with her!
Love this. Don't quite know why. Perhaps it's your lovely relationship with Helen. And Congratulations on the award for SYLO. Thoroughly well deserved 👏🎉❤
Really enjoying this decluttering series with Helen The basement declutter is a big achievement I’m on a decluttering phase myself at the moment Look forward to the next episode x
Love Helen, you are both so sweet !! Massive progress in the basement. Helen has such a beautiful home and it will look even more beautiful when some things are decluttered. Cant wait to see the next Helen episode ❤❤
Helen you’ve done a fantastic job clearing your cellar. I understand it’s hard to let go of memories. When we moved I was set the task of decluttering years of paper it is cathartic when it’s done
Lovely to see what Helen has accomplished and how pleased she is with your finds for her keepsakes. Love the idea for the paper corners. Verimark sells bags that you can vacuum pack items such as linens and blankets that help you see the item but it takes up less space.
Love to Helen! I’ve just read ‘Not that I’m Bitter’ book, I grew up in the 80’s & this brought back so many memories. Great to hear June Whitfield was as lovely as she seemed. Great declutter vid - very inspiring! ❤
Oh bless dear Helen and her so called clutter! makes me smile a lot! That basement is such an improvement, well done there! One suggestion if I may, that lovely Mural back drop behind Helen's desk is prime space for shelving, just waiting for all those storage solutions you have been finding Iwan! I am trying to sell my house at the moment, so a lot of my precious things are packed away, my house is a nightmare and we are not living our life atm, but Helen is on the cusp of sorting her home, got to be honest I am envious to say the least! Well done both, and if anyone wants a nice 4 bed detached in Somerset, give me a nudge!! Lovely vlog Iwan, keep on keeping on and thank you xx
Amazing progress in the basement! I suspect Helen is a visual organiser which means she likes to be able to see things most of the time. For current paperwork of projects she is working on, two or three of the IKEA KVISSLE Wall newspaper rack could be ideal for her to keep things organised but within easy reach. Wall mounted peg boards can also be helpful. Can't wait to see more of the progress. Love Helen :-) So talented! Also, there are shredding companies that come to your door and shred on site as a domestic customer. They are not super expensive but it is a really quick way to clear a tonne of very old paperwork and clear some space.
I'm a bit northern and nerdy so I need to say this about woven portraits, one of the first uses of punch card computing, was to create patterns and portraits in tapestry on punch card looms in the 1800s, there's a museum up north in the uk with a hanging and the punch card box that made it with the creator pictured, it's really cool multi tonal peice 😊
OMG - we are all different and different things cause us stress … for me it is watching this vlog!! Ah all that clutter honestly makes me feel physically unwell 😮 but I do understand the fear and angst that can come with letting things go… it’s a bit like self enforced torture watching this … but I can’t stop in anticipation of the end result 😊
Wow 🤩 cellar looks great - good job! I went into a shop in Wales yesterday and Farrow & Ball tester pots were a whopping £5:50 each! Average small paint was over £40 😮 decant and save that paint Mr C ❤
Great to see this update - keep up the good work Helen! It’s so hard to keep the momentum going with decluttering. I downloaded Helen’s book as an audiobook, and have loved hearing her story in her own voice x
Great to see a follow up Mr C. The beautiful liberty folder - As a crafter i think the term scrapbooking is better suited for this project. Love the banter between the two of you😊
Love the way Ewan has a lot of tact with you Helen. I subscribe to his channel such a lovely gentle soul. Love the picture your daughter did, very colourful, we need colour in our lives to cheer us up.
Wish i had cellar for storage, my spare bedroom has become the dumping ground for bits n piece's. Ive got a lot of art not hung which im thinking i may turn the spare into an art gallery 🤔 very much work in progress though. Helen did loads in the cellar was well impressed !
Aw brilliant.you 2 are amazing to watch...yes I can relate to a younger person de cluttering .I have my young grand daughter coming to organise a room...Helen has done well...I keep my most precious keepsakes in 2 curio cabinets..look forward to your next vlog with lovely Helen...😊
Whoa well done Helen what a difference, good job. But please recommend she gets a air rated cover over that drain so no little visitors come a calling, it you know what I mean !!😂❤ love Rosie O x
Love you back with Helen. She is lovely. I have scrap book photo albums for all my cards, tickets, old photos (pre digital) ..all in date order. For my boys I have hanging cardboard file plastic boxes. Each cardboard file is 1 yr... for flat stuff. Then another boxes for the bulky memories eg baby clothes etc.
I was looking at some old photos of past homes and wishing I’d had the storage space to keep some of the vases/ornaments/pictures etc that I’d become tired of but when I saw them again in the photos I thought ‘I’d love to have that still’. A basement/loft would be fantastic. Modern homes have so little storage space. Also when my grandparents passed I couldn’t take some of the things that remind me so much of them and my childhood 😢. I love that Helen has taken on board some of the things you suggested.
Hi Iwan Lovely to see Helen again shes such a sweatie and i love her facial expressions was at great norh run yesterday so late in watching but really loved the vlog
Hello from Oho! Helen- An episode of Ab Fab popped up on Prime. the other day and you were in it. Love the "GIRL POWER COMEDY!" The basement clear out is very inspiring.; keep going! xoxoxo
You can also remove the light/plug switch take painters tape stick on the inside of the plate and write the paint colour for that room inside then put the plate back and its hidden away. You can also write with permanent marker.
I live in a static caravan at the moment and the amount of storage is minimal and you are giving me great ideas on how I can hide all my clutter and add extra storage thanks guys xxx
It would be great to have floor to ceiling bookshelves in her office. Then she could have a place to showcase her incredible life in photos, books and of course her King Charles memorabilia ❤. Maybe also include a gallery wall behind her desk of important photos and memories. The cellar has come leaps and bounds but again….if more uniform shelving and storage boxes and labelling could happen….then Helen may feel a lot more in control of her possessions and know where things are.
I get Helen! As I am the same! Husband berates me about keeping so much! I have a huge chest full of cards but, they are important cards from each baby I had, I kept the cards. And other huge moments in my life. The kids will probably ditch the lot when I am gone! Hahahaha! Clothes, right now I am putting off the sorting of them, well I get gifted clothes and I only have a small wardrobe…my chosen charity shop must love me right now as I have been really sorting!
Great video, so much work done by Helen since last video. Looking forward to the next one…..hoping that although Helen gets to change other areas that there is always something for you both to work on as you have such a great dynamic together
another tip for removing addresses etc from parcels is to rub with some disinfection alcohol or gel(the type we all used during covid) using the ink sometimes you can still see the address under
Since Helen is a visual person and likes to have invites and letters in a place she can see them and enjoy them, I thought of a type of bulletin board but a nice one that would fit in the living room.
Helen, you are so joyful! I have an overwhelming organization problem, too. Mr. Carrington, next time you're in the States, come stay with me in Texas and help me, please.
Lovely video Mr C you gave her some great advice, well done Helen can’t wait to see how it all turns out! I thought I was the only one who finds the cutter on the labelling machine satisfying 🤣🤣🤣
Great job! And Helen, you're right, you will feel so much better once you have tamed the clutter. It's so calming. You're also quite right that the external reflects the internal but it works both ways. It's often much easier to tackle the external rather than the internal but once you have taken back control of the external the internal sorts itself out. I do hope that makes some sense but well done on your progress and keep going. You've got this 👍
Wow, what an improvement. Very nice what you have done. Love the paint idea for the house. I'm about to sort through framed photos and then pack them with photos that are unframed in an old suitcase that has only 3 of 4 wheels. ❤ Helen and ❤ Mr C. Xx😊
Good morning Mr.C and Helen! I was editing my comment and it's now all gone, so I'll start again. 8:41 for not to damage important documents or photos you could try to stick some plastic folder bags to the book just by the holes side. That way you can see both sides of the paper. Or put the envelope on the other side and see it too. Another way is to use washi tape. There are lots of colours and prints that may be of Helen's style. Take a trip to a scrapbooking store. You may find a new hobby! If she so much loves that Charles's invitation, she should frame it and hang it up to display. I think it's a good idea to make a painting display of all the wall colours. You can paint a square to frame all the colour samples inside or even use some of Helen's frames and stick just the frame to the wall. 33:40 that bowl is for making custard pudding or any other desserts with the boiling water technique. (Don't know how you say it) you put your pudding in boiling water to cook it. I make a condensed milk custard pudding 🍮 with that kind of bowl. I love the way you praise Helen's achievements in the cellar and avoid talking about the chaotic zones in her office ❤ I'm a very well organised person all around my house... except my library/office/craft room. It's usually a chaos, although I know where everything is, and can work there quite well, but sometimes it overwhelms me and have to do some sort out, which I also enjoy doing. Loved this video! Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you are up to!
10:10 re: “self-adhesive corners” for the junk journal… (someone might have already mentioned) that’s how photographs were added to paper-paged albums back in the 60-70s. 19:29 re: drain - if you don’t already, put some water down the drain regularly to keep it from smelling. So looking forward to seeing Helen’s office being sorted. It could be such a calming space.

Hey I have an organised house - but this was so helpful even for me, Mr Carrington! .. Thank you both :) xx
I loved this video. I can’t wait for a follow up. On a side note, I am absolutely mesmerized by Helen’s beautiful eyes!
Me too. But she doesn't need that heavy eye makeup. 🎉 her eyes shine through without that. X

Morning Mr C. Amazing results in Helen’s cellar! Thank you for a brilliant vlog.
You are both such lovely people. You could talk about anything under the sun, and i would enjoy the conversation. Brilliant work on the cellar ❤
another tip for removing addresses etc from parcels is to rub with some disinfection alcohol or gel(the type we all used during covid) using the ink sometimes you can still see the address under
Love your chats with Helen & her audiobook was great 😊
Well done Helen you and your daughter have done amazing in that cellar. Keep going little by little x
Good Morning Mr.C and Helen. Your Daughter did a great job declaring 🎉 I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for your tips and have a great day ❤
I have been waiting for you to give Helen the King Charles carpet gift!
Since Helen is a visual person and likes to have invites and letters in a place she can see them and enjoy them, I thought of a type of bulletin board but a nice one that would fit in the living room.
You could do a series visiting the different areas! Good job!
Hi Mr C, just a thought, Helen has quite a large cellar and could put a dehumidifier in to combat the damp.
I think I've been waiting all my life for junk journaling!! How had I never heard of it before 😁
Helen, you are so joyful! I have an overwhelming organization problem, too. Mr. Carrington, next time you're in the States, come stay with me in Texas and help me, please.

Such a relatable situation Helen Good luck Lovely Lady❤❤
Great idea on keeping the paint Mr C. I am going to use it. Thank you. Love the vlog
The paint wall is an excellent idea!!
Love Helen, let's keep going on this series 😊, I have organised in my garage with all the same boxes and labelled it, which 😅brings me peace 😅 🇦🇺👋
Hey Iwan! Helen did a great job with her daughter in the cellar. Looking forward to the next declutter instalment. Cheers for the vid🎉
