Cas, this video was just what I needed today! I have a request for the next one: Can you please keep a timer in the corner of the screen so we can see the actual passage of time? As a fellow ADHD lady, I struggle to estimate how long a mini-project would actually take to complete. I know everyone operates at their own pace, but it would really help people like me who can’t even kinda guess (which often is a big roadblock to starting.) *I also appreciate that you did speed up some of the more tedious steps. It was sufficient to give us an idea of what you were doing without subtracting from our own time unnecessarily.
When my daughter was ten, I let her skip her homework because she was practicing lock picking, and that seemed so much more useful. Sure enough, last month she was at an event and the park district forgot to unlock the vendor's gate, so nobody could leave. My daughter pulled out a hairpin and popped the lock, to the delight of the crowd. I'm so proud of that girl!

"OH, my wedding ring!" That one hit home and totally cracked me up. 😂 I'm glad you found your wedding ring, Cas! My dear Hubby and I both have the habit of putting special jewelry in a "safe place," and everybody knows how that goes. Our wedding rings and other nice pieces of jewelry have gone into a "safe place" during vacations, or when one of us needs surgery, etc., only to be discovered a year or more later, in a really odd location, typically discovered through serendipity. Sheet solutions for those who need more than one set per bed. 1- sheet tote is in the closet or under the bed of the room it will be used in. 2- sheet colors are purchased based on bed size, not room decor. I've been following you for at least 10 years. This is one of my favourite videos EVER. It's exactly what I needed to get motivated, and the dialogue was a perfect model of what I should be doing as I declutter. I'm that person who touches something and thinks of 10 different ways it could be useful. My cluttered home makes me feel ashamed, and like I've failed my family. I can't have friends over because of embarassment. The stuff we use is left out because my storage is full of the stuff we don't use. Finally, I started letting things go. I've gone through half my kitchen and have a trunk full of donations already. Thank-you so much for this video! ❤
Even though I'm not decluttering, your my body double to help me knit a blanket in 2 videos! Thank you! Btw, your singing and your energy is helping!! 😁👍
I lost weight and am down 4 pant/dress sizes so donated all the larger sizes to a free FB group that I'm in. I feel good that they aren't being re-sold and that others don't have to waste money buying new clothes. Thanks for your inspiration. I'm tackling all paperwork and throwing out anything before 2020. 🙌
This is so helpful. I just sent this video to my husband with the comment "This is me on Saturday. REMIND ME!" I am motivated and encouraged. We want to move within the next 6 months so this is the perfect time to get rid of stuff.
When we moved I decluttered each room as I repainted. I was at the donation center so much they would wave to me. Have fun. The more we got rid of the better we felt.
I've watched this video a number of times. Love your energy in this Cas and amazing moments like "I'm not gonna miss it cos I'd never even think to look for it.... OH MY WEDDING RING!" You have inspired me so much over the last year or so of watching you and I feel it's taken me 45 years to start to learn to manage my life.
I love this channel! I have never wanted to clean/declutter so much before! I will say, the part where you are in the linen closet “watch me fold, watch me nae nae” was amazing! 😂😂Please keep making videos like this! ❤
"Do I need to be a superspy who knows how to pick locks?" "I feel like the answer is yes." See, THIS is why I love your decluttering videos, Cas - your commentary is just hilarious. Keep up the great work! 😆
WOW you have incredible decluttering muscles. Instead of being overwhelmed you were dropping solutions all through the video. The streaming dialogue is hilarious. May time bless all of us with the strength to speed declutter 🙏❤️😂
I have 2 suggestions :) I put each persons sheets for their bed, in their room. So we don't have a huge mound of random bedding to deal with. Also, we take all of the band aids out of the containers and throw them in a plastic container Then when you need one, you just grab it out of the bin. Just a thought, of things that work for my family. Maybe they will work for yours too. :)
This video is I will watch on repeat. Motivation, laughs, good advice, singing, practical ideas, information, funny voices, it has everything. I am no longer self-conscious about my self-talk (sometimes in my head, mostly out loud). Fabulous. Best line in the video: "My wedding rings!" Thank you!!!
Thank you for the decluttering inspiration! I love trying all the crafty hobbies too so I decided to make videos and put them on RUclips. It's turned out pretty well and now I can just say crafting on RUclips is my hobby. Thanks for just being yourself and keeping it real. It's so refreshing! ❤️ - Chantel
Cas, just wanted to say thank you for the bootcamp style talk for the all-day declutter on Sat. I have been working on my craft room for a few weeks slowly and that day I threw out many things that I had trouble in the past letting go of. The tough talk really worked! lol Thank you!
You are so welcome! I just released a new TOUGH LOVE podcast if you want more screaming! lol. Here is the link: clutterbug.me/2024/04/new-decluttering-tough-love-with-cas.html
@@Clutterbug Amazing!!! Just watching your newest video. I thought I was the only one who talked to myself. lol Going to listen to the podcast for sure. The screaming seems to work. lol
@@Clutterbug Hey Cas. love your podcasts, but are they now only audio, not video as well? Sad if they are, much prefer video. Hope you can go back to visual, thanks :)
CAS, take one pillow case and stuff the matching sheet, second pillow case etc from the set all inside and then wrap the end over. Quilt covers too that way the whole set is contained and folds up nice so you can see what you have. But it’s as easy as dumping it all in a bag🎉😂
That's like my linens decluttering strategy, except my brain works well with folding sheets nicely and placing them as a set into organizers. I only use bed sets (whether bought or assembled). Orphaned sheets and pillowcases get donated unless they're important to me. My 20 million throw blankets can stay, though, because I somehow manage use them all.
@MelauraBradford , YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!! I might add 'turn the pillow case inside out first' to have a freshy-fresh smelling case when it comes time to use it. xoxo
I started hobby hopping in my 30’s (now 46). I was trying to find my niche. I’m still exploring a bit but did find a few hobbies I enjoy. I did martial arts for a few years, getting to high green belt (halfway to black) before taking a hiatus during Covid lockdowns (and never returning). I got certified as an NRA firearms instructor (4 certs) and only did one series of training with youth (have since turned down multiple training requests). Then I tried sewing (ehhh, no). Finally I started dabbling in various forms of acrylic painting and LOVE it!! So that’s my jam now! I also love reading - mostly Christian fiction (LOVE Ted Dekker’s allegories). My house is a mess and your videos, which I’ve only revelry found, are very helpful! Plus you are super relatable. 😊 Thanks for keeping it real! You give me hope that I CAN finally not only get my home in order, but make it a space that’s functional, warm and inviting without it becoming sterile and hard to maintain. Thank you!!!
Such a pleasure to watch! You are able to take the emotional weight off decluttering = enjoy the process, laugh at yourself instead of putting yourself down, sing, dance, add humor to the process...not stress!!! 😜 Lovely presentation!
I love that you just moved and still have clutter. I just figured you wouldn't for at least a year , because you would have decluttered and organized when you moved in. I just love you and how funny you are!
You are great motivation!! Remember, to donate things you don't use (light bulbs, uneaten food your kids don't like, etc). To a church, homeless shelter, vet (even used sheets/towels) unwed mother's shelter etc. 👌👍
My son and I cleaned out the final kitchen cabinet last night. I have a disability so we have been taking it one cabinet at a time, over the last week and a half. Today, we took everything to Goodwill. I filled up the entire back, seats down of my RAV 4. Feels so good.
Yes too many hobbies, when I retired two years ago to watch my only grandchild I went through a lot of my stuff and donated. I was into making felt food and I worked at a preschool so every pretend kitchen had my work for grocery store and restaurant. It was very calming but my house was like a mini Michael’s. Embroidery was easy to give away because my eyes aren’t so good anymore. Kept the last afghan I was working on but otherwise donated all my yarn. My granddaughter is my hobby now.😃 This video was terrific because you exposed so many flaws you have, I mean that in the kindest way. I used to watch your afters and think I could never be that organized and you are phenomenal but…..I do fold a good sheet.😄I have a small home and have too many blankets so I am going to donate six and put one in my hubs car, like they say to do. I have a cabinet to nowhere under the kitchen sink and I put stuff I never use there but like you say why? I’m going to go through that tomorrow hopefully. Hubs will be gone, he doesn’t like to throw anything away. Granddaughter is totally potty trained at 2 1/2 so I can get rid of all the diapers and pull ups except maybe 5? in case she gets sick or something. I have always collected toys so it is a problem to give any of them away. I used to take them to school for different units but now I actually have a kid who plays with them. Vintage Fisher Price never goes out of style and Barbies and everything she needs. I do have a problem.😳😆🤔 You are so much fun, thank you Cass.😘
I declutter regularly. I pick a room for the week (this week, it’s my bathroom), then an area in that room for each day and do a max 15 min (usually 5 min) declutter in that area. This has helped me stay on top of clutter. I had to laugh, because you talk to yourself like I do while cleaning and decluttering.
I’m so surprised that several of your clear bins didn’t have labels! Particularly the cabinet under the sink and the closet that had bandaids and extra products. I’ve learned so much about the magic of labeling from you! Haha. ….Your real life decluttering made me feel better about my progress and competency. And also, this was so much fun to watch. You are hilarious and brilliant at the same time.
Best video ever ! Listening to your questions and answers and HYPING yourself for every decision you made ist GOLD! I will try to be more like you (in every possible way ❤) and celebrate myself for every decision when declutterring. The decisions are the problem , sooo hard, but you made it look easy
I don't know if you've ever taken the Clifton strength tests, but I can bet you're probably a learner. You like to learn all the things, and that's why you had so many hobbies your ADHD hyper obsessed over. I've got the same thing, but instead of a million hobbies, it's a million book idea and several classes at once to learn ALL the things. Gotta remind myself to grab Skillshare because that dessert class looked amazing! Thanks for all the inspiration, your upbeat attitude and the realistic and raw way you show us your process is way more motivating than just a scripted encounter. Thanks so much!
As long as you’re alive you’ll keep buying and collecting and needing stuff… it happens. Consider it a blessing and a pleasure you get to steward and care for this home. If we could all be so lucky, right? The day you no longer need things or to manage or clean them it’s because you’ll be in the morgue or underground. Thank God today is a great day to declutter and clean! Phew! Live to fight the good fight another day.
I really love this video. I had a rough patch today and you have brought a smile to my face. Every time I watch your videos, I learn something new and you have the best personality!
Deep corner cabinets like the one you had your mugs in make great snack cabinets, especially for the rare treats - you know the kind - the stuff you break out when no one else is around...
This was awesome…as I sit here…in my pj’s…watching you declutter…but it does provide motivation to get me moving…uh, decluttering. I’ll tackle the bedroom & closet…wish me luck!! One quick tip I now follow is to have only 2 sets of sheets for the bed. One for using, and as soon as I take off the dirty sheets, I put the clean ones on. I store the clean sheets under the bed for my room…but I do fold mine😆😆
I keep an extra set of sheets in each bedroom/ guest bedroom for that room instead of in the linen closet. Extra blankets are in a container in linen closet when needed.
Thank you sooo much for sharing your hidden clutter treasures! I'm totally encouraged hearing that decluttering is NEVER ending!! I live by myself in my house of 24yrs....I find stuff stuffed EVERYwhere. I also can't tell you how many times I misplace my fave emerald ring, blame the cats or dog, only to find it in a cray random spot!! (NOT on any of the pets' radars lmao!) It IS like Christmas when I open drawers or cabinets!! I get uber excited!! Thank you sooo much for SHOWING me I'm ok!! No shame nor judgement!!! I totally appreciate your videos!!!
Cas you absolute have to make more of these! It's such a big help seeing that even you have "real life" in your closets, even after all these years. I sometimes feel discouraged when I see how tidy your, Dawn and Erica's places looks... And now THIS! It's AMAZING! And you are just the bèst with your real quirky self on camera, I love it 😊 Thanks for your channel
@Romans828girl Erica Lucas she's also been on a decluttering journey for about 5 years and have come such a long way. I'm sure you will enjoy her channel as well if you are familiar with Cas and Dawn. Also have a look at Dana K White from a slob comes clean. I enjoy her channel as well 😉
I've been really sick for the past 9 days, so finally watching this video! I always love watching you declutter and make decisions! It's nice to see you're "real" and have the decision difficulties too! Sometimes I think I forget that just because you're a decluttering pro you're also human and have issues making decisions! I feel so motivated to continue, but right now my body is saying enough for today! I DID however just donate about 12 boxes of STUFF that was picked up last week!! Hobby Collector here, through and through!! My ADHD has me go ALL in, I get ALL the things, then fizzle out! My list is very similar to yours! I finally realized I can't do it ALL so I sold a ton of resin supplies, molds, glitter, etc. I have a TON of metal stamps for jewelry making I just don't use. Scrapbooking supplies, all different forms of jewelry making supplies, every general craft you can imagine, and then some!! Trying to clear it all out because I want to focus on my CO2 laser engraving!! 😊 Hopefully this one sticks! It's by far THE most expensive investment yet!!

Every time I watch you I get super inspired to declutter. Thank you for your humor and ideas. Love you!!!
LOL, I thought I was the only woman on earth that had an interest in lock picking! You go girl!
#superspies
@@Clutterbug A mom of teen(s) can always use that skill!
"Do I need to be a superspy who knows how to pick locks?" "I feel like the answer is yes."
See, THIS is why I love your decluttering videos, Cas - your commentary is just hilarious. Keep up the great work! 😆
Omg you cracked me UP with the lock picking and the list of hobbies!
I want to have as much fun as Cas does decluttering, instead I just sit frozen staring at my mess while fighting some internal monologues..
Yep, me too. Well said! 😬🤪🤔
Relatable
Me too 😅
This was too real. I feel seen 😂
WOW you have incredible decluttering muscles. Instead of being overwhelmed you were dropping solutions all through the video. The streaming dialogue is hilarious. May time bless all of us with the strength to speed declutter 🙏❤️😂
"...I practiced picking the locks on all my neighbors' doors while they were at work... as one does." LOL!! 😅😂😅
Shhh!
😂😂😂😂😂
I felt like this could have been the end story all by itself. 😅 But I, too, have lockpicking supplies... around here... somewhere...
@@stefflcus Hahaha! If the statute of limitations has not yet expired, please say no more! 😄😄
Last night my 13 year old daughter asked me “can we watch clutterbug? She’s so pretty” 🙈♥️
That is so kind of her! Can she be my new best friend?
@@Clutterbug omg she’d love to. Haha can’t wait for her to read your reply 😂♥️
Enjoyed the video. You make me laugh. I think I'll go try to find something to declutter.😊
@@ClutterbugSounds like it's already happened! 😂
Yes‼️‼️‼️
Your kids are lucky to have such an upbeat mom who is a great example of how to maneuver the world ! ❤😊
Just got up and declutter under kitchen sink because of this motivating video. Found out there was a leak and mold and muck. Cleaned and fixed!
That is awesome!
You are so fun to watch! Literally laugh out loud at your videos! And helps this ADHD mama out with cleaning and decluttering! So thank YOU!
You make me realize that singing to myself is completely normal. Thanks!
So now Cas is our gauge for what is completely normal?!
@@skyedaisy4007 The videos are posted on Fridays on my podcast RUclips channel
@@Clutterbug Yay! That's great, thanks for replying :)
These kinds of videos with Cas get me decluttering more than anything! I don't overthink things, I just get ruthless!
I love that!
CAS, take one pillow case and stuff the matching sheet, second pillow case etc from the set all inside and then wrap the end over. Quilt covers too that way the whole set is contained and folds up nice so you can see what you have. But it’s as easy as dumping it all in a bag🎉😂
THIS!!!
I might add 'turn the pillow case inside out first' to have a freshy-fresh smelling case when it comes time to use it. xoxo
I started doing this two years ago and it works so well that i can't think of any other way to do it ❤
Wow, genius.
Thank you for showing the realistic side of decluttering, and not just the pretty side of organizing. Thanks for sharing your process for doing it.
Cas, just an idea: if you don’t use the top shelves of mug cabinet, put something decorative you already have on top since you have glass doors.
This video style is why i started watching your videos years ago!! Love it and motivating!
Yay!
I am a hobby hopper! 🤦🏾♀️I love how your in the mist of decluttering and then break out in songs! ❤
This video just makes me love you even more. And makes me feel normal! Thank you for being yourself on camera!
I do have a problem.😳😆🤔
You are so much fun, thank you Cass.😘
I am addicted to decluttering and I love it 😊
I declutter regularly. I pick a room for the week (this week, it’s my bathroom), then an area in that room for each day and do a max 15 min (usually 5 min) declutter in that area. This has helped me stay on top of clutter. I had to laugh, because you talk to yourself like I do while cleaning and decluttering.
THAT is actually a great idea! Thank you.🙂
I can make LISTS of rooms and sections. I love lists!
I'll even talk to myself!😂
I’m so surprised that several of your clear bins didn’t have labels! Particularly the cabinet under the sink and the closet that had bandaids and extra products. I’ve learned so much about the magic of labeling from you! Haha. ….Your real life decluttering made me feel better about my progress and competency. And also, this was so much fun to watch. You are hilarious and brilliant at the same time.
I love that you have that lazy susan in that awkward corner cabinet, just spin and you can see all that's up there! Love lazy susans for organization.
A superb fun to watch video. The fact that you are a hobby hopper means that you are a woman who follows her dreams and that is so inspiring!
I appreciate you sharing how you actively declutter and how even getting rid of a purposefully good light bulb is ok. I struggle with stuff like that.
One of my common declarations upon completing a task: "It's not Good, but it's BETTER!" I consider myself a "good-enoughist" 😉
Me, too. And I encourage myself, "Anything will be an improvement!"
Best video ever ! Listening to your questions and answers and HYPING yourself for every decision you made ist GOLD! I will try to be more like you (in every possible way ❤) and celebrate myself for every decision when declutterring. The decisions are the problem , sooo hard, but you made it look easy
Yes so many hobbies. painting, refinishing furniture, gardening etc.
I really like this style of video. I wouldn't mind more of this "everyday" kind of video from time to time ❤
I don't know if you've ever taken the Clifton strength tests, but I can bet you're probably a learner.
You are just SO funny, Cass! Your quirky personality and humor make your videos enjoyable and painlessly encouraging. Thanks!
You're welcome!
One of my favorites! I think watching you make the decisions I could actually see you feel how I feel. I’m so motivated.😊😊Thank you!!!
I really love this video. I had a rough patch today and you have brought a smile to my face. Every time I watch your videos, I learn something new and you have the best personality!
Your HUMOR and ringing and being REAL helps me so much 🦋❤️❤️
I'm so glad!
Deep corner cabinets like the one you had your mugs in make great snack cabinets, especially for the rare treats - you know the kind - the stuff you break out when no one else is around...
I had so much fun decluttering with you! I so talk to myself while I do projects and this made me so happy today❤
You wear that color beautifully!!
22:20 Top sheets keep your comforter cleaner for longer.
I was feeling so unaccomplished until..I saw your commentary you always bring a smile to my face …😂😂😂
OMG! This is, by far, my favorite video! You continue to motivate me with your energy and endless giggles! Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
when you found your wedding ring !!! i’m so happy for you. also seeing how happy you were after, that’s a feeling i’ve felt many times 🤣
You are my spirit animal. These videos make me laugh so hard at your commentary. You're a gift from God thank you for being you!
HOLY DIGITY DOG DOODLES???!!!!!!! 😍 I JUST LOVE YOU!!!! Thank you so much Cass for spending time with us so often!!!!
15:35 !!! :D Thank you for saying lavender smells like butt. This is the honesty the world needs so it stops making everything lavender-scented.
I HATE lavender scent! UGH! WHY is the cheapest Fabuloso always the lavender?!
And don’t even get me started on those who add it to food!!! Who likes the taste of soap??? 🤢
Ooh, I've missed somebody. Who is Erica?
@Romans828girl Erica Lucas she's also been on a decluttering journey for about 5 years and have come such a long way. I love her episodes as well as she is also very down to earth and real about how she talks herself through the hard decisions. I'm sure you will enjoy her channel as well if you are familiar with Cas and Dawn. Also have a look at Dana K White from a slob comes clean. I enjoy her channel as well 😉
@@janivanmolendorff2301 Thank you. I will check her out. Oh yes, Dana K White has gotta be my sister from another mister!
I love your dialogue and made up songs!
Thanks for sharing!
Take a shot every time Cass imitates a "success" trumpet sound. 🎉 Dadadadum!!!!!!!!!
I'm not as think as you drunk I am. I've just been cleaning a watching video.
