Yes it could be. What HDMI cable are you using? Also, are you plugging the capture card directly into the headset or using another cable in between? Also what are you outputting from?
@@husondiy Output from PC and tried to output from laptop too, plugged straight into HDMI port from my RTX 3060ti -> capture card -> quest 3, or HDMI port of laptop -> capture card -> quest 3

Hi! The card supports 1080p at 60fps confirmed, but in the HDMI link app has 2k at 30fps available to select. So we would need Hagibis to confirm if it is actually 2k at 30fps.
My nephew and I are totally into VR and would love to try out this capture card. He is into to posting on to social media and we love playing co-op together. We could probably play together and capture some content.
This looks great, but not solely for a Switch user. The fact that the Switch also needs to be powered, in order for it to output a video/audio signal, it means more adapters and cables, or having to output the Switch while it is in a dock, which isn't ideal. Sounds very clunky and not very streamlined for bringing it out of the house with you. As well as this Hagibis works in a standalone setup at a home, I think for the Switch, where you don't want the dock and a lot less cabling, the Ugreen one that you showed in a previous window, would still be best. Do you agree? Do you notice a video quality difference between the Hagibis and the Ugreen, if in 1080p/60fps? Great video btw. I really like these from you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your reply on the other video... This is the capture card I've been looking at. £50 on Amazon, or £11 on AliExpress. But I also need to bypass HDCP from the Blu-ray player or I'll get an error. Presumably I need some kind of HDMI splitter to go between the source and the capture card? Any recommendations on that front? Bonus question... Can the capture card send 3D signals to the quest 3?
@Huson DIY I got a bit confused can I just buy this card, connect this to my Ps4 and stream this to the big screen on Quest 3? Because that will be awesome. (watched a few of your vids in a row so maybe got a little motion sick).

Great videos about Quest 3. Looking at your content I think I'll be buying a Quest 3. Is there any way I can simultaneously connect Quest 3 to Samsung Dex and a Windows pc via usb-c (like though a usb-c hub)?
Not sure you can do simultaneously. You could have HDMI outputs from your PC and Samsung devices into a HDMI switcher. You can then switch between devices on the HDMI switcher.
@@husondiy Thanks for your reply. Never used a VR device before, so please forgive me if I sound naive. I have a z fold 6, an m3 max macbook, and a windows pc. I wish to use Dex & macbook (or a pc) on two separate screens on the Quest 3 via usb-c connection without resorting to wifi. Would the Immersed app be of any help to attain this objective. What do you think will happen if I connected two capture cards (one connected to z fold & other to a macbook) into a usb-c hub, and then connected the hub to the Quest 3? If not possible over usb-c, would it be possible to get two separate screens simultaneously for two devices using wifi & usb-c?
The OS takes up a fair chunk, so you're closer to 100GB from the get go. Q3 AAA titles can chew up 30GB+. If you want to record your gameplay, you could end up crying for space pretty quickly. Mainly because people forget about some games use caching. There's plenty of people on Reddit wishing they'd bought the 512GB.
I really need one for watch on pc and console, because why , I have a son that watch the TV and I would like to try on my quest 3 ❤ if I the choose one. I keep watching your awesome videos
I've got a Hagibis card, Macbook and Switch work flawlessly, but I can't get PS5 to. I can hear the audio, but I just get a black screen in the Quest 3 for it. Any advice would be really helpful.
I connected a Google TV chromecast to this card and attached a 20 000 mAh 60w power bank to back of the Q3. It powers both the Chromecast and the Q3 thru this card. A couple pieces of velcro and a 5 inch Usb-c to Usb-c , along with a U shaped adapter to the card to run the 5' usb-c cable to the battery really streamlined it.
@@GOODEUSMAXIMUS Glad my tech nerd self could help. A 30w power brick will work too. The 'U' shape adaptor from amazon is what makes it streamline as the PD port on the card faces forwards. I'd suggest getting a 6-8 inch usb-c to Usb-c from card to battery. Mine is tight, but works. I have the Globular Cluster CMQ3 halo strap and use this set up without an interface. I would equate to feeling like you are wearing a construction helmet while sitting upright. Resting into a pillow = GOLD !!
Dears Hudson DIY, I whould like to use it to work. My laptop it's too small and for sure working with the QUest3 stream will be great. I could not install the MetaLInk, because it's a coorporative laptoip with a lot of restriction, like this, there's, no restriction :D thanks
Hi!! If you can HDMI output from your laptop you can make it work. The Meta HDMI Link application is only required on the Meta Quest headset. So HDMI out from your laptop into a capture card, then capture card connected to your headset. Does that make sense?
I find that I like the ugreen to power my steam deck and use another dongle with USB power and Usb for the capture card to charge the quest. I spent so much time playing comfortably that both batteries die out of both aren't charging while I play.
Great video, liked and subscribed, of course. Have you done the giveaway yet? If not, I would like to win one to use with my Quest 2. Apart from the big price difference, is there any other reason you recommend this one over the j5create Video Capture Card (JVA01) that you reviewed previously? Given that the Hagibis has no HDMI pass-through.
Dont loose your time on this. It tries to trick you saying that it is 4k but it is not. It only ACCEPTS 4k input but the output is only 1080p 30fps. Its ridiculous for the today standards. Dont loose your time and money on this like I did. The hoster tries to trick you that it really receives 4K when connected to a laptop but it doesnt. It receives 1080p. Wait a litle more for a real 4k USB-C capture card. Plus this device was made to capture FROM your VR headset and not to send the images of a laptop or smartphone to your quest. For this type of use, we alread have many types of cable that sends 4K directly without a device (the "capture card") that in fact, does a downscale to your VR headset. Just look for a cable that haves a USB-C input in the middle. Theres many out there so this way you will receive 4K on your headset and will charge at the same time. Pretty dumb video indeed and he tries do mislead the people. Shame!
At no point did I say it provides 4k to the headset. I constantly mention 1080p. You probably need to listen a little more. You are generally very wrong with your whole comment to be honest
@@husondiy Yes you did say that you was playing a YT video in 4K in the headset at 14:30 and it is 1080p. Disregardless of the YT are trying to mirror the 4K resolution, it will not truly show 4K in the headset because of the limitations of this "capture" card. It output is 1080p and in the video you mislead the viewers to believe that the headset are showing 4K when it isnt. And I am not wrong in the rest of my statments like youve said. Theres a lot of cables that you dont need this or any other device just to show a external device on your headset that realy can show 4k. Not this one. This one was not made for this aplication, it was made, like the name says, to CAPTURE FROM the headset TO a external device. Not the contrary. And it will only capture in 1080p, and it is a shame. Theres a LOT of captures device nowardays that capture in 4K 120 fps. The only problem is that USB-C is not the correct way to pass video signials so, becuse of that, this 4K cards doesnt accept USB-C yet at this point. But this doesnt mean that this is the best way to use it reversively to input images on a VR headset. On the contrary. Again, if theres simple cables that can send 4k images to the headset, why bother with this 1080p capture card? It bugs me and lend me to think that you are only trying to sell a useless gadget for the wrong aplication.
You're being a bit pedantic to be honest. You keep saying there are cables out there that would do this in 4K. So please share the cable that would send a 4K image from a PS5 into this headset for example. Rather than being negative and argumentative suggest ways that this experience could be improved. You're also wrong that the capture cards are designed for the Meta Quest to output to. The HDMI Link is literally designed to work with HDMI devices via capture cards. That is exactly what the app is designed for. So I'm not really sure what you're trying to get at. But again, provide us with the sololutin you keep advising there is that's super simple.
@@husondiy "capture cards are designed for the Meta Quest to output to. " I dont sugest that but you can plug in a HDMI cable on your PS5, plug it in a Elgato, wich have a USB-C out and plug in this USB-C out in the Quest 3 USB-C conection. Simple as that. This way you can send 4k/60 fps to your VR headset. Simple as that like ive said. About the cable that ive mentioned, unfortunately I cant put links on comments on YT and you know that. But anyone can search your marketplace for VR Link Cable or something like that that will find many. Just choose the ones that haves a conector USB-C in the middle to mix the video signal and charge at the same time. I have one and it is as simples as that. Just conect the other side on the USB of the computer and voila! 4K on your headset and plus, charging it full time.

Hey, I was wondering what happened to the Reolink giveway
Drop me an email at husondiy@gmail.com and I'll explain. I'll be doing an update on the video soon also
Just bought the card but in hopes that it'll work with the quest 2 as it appears to do for the 3
It does! I've tried it with the Quest 2 👍🏻
I was on RUclips browsing for the Meta quest update and I got here, I entered the giveaway
If I was lucky enough to win I would use it for a mix of work and gaming
This is not the problem now.. we need video about SSD portable connect to meta quest 3 ..for fixing storage running out problem..
I agree!! Need a headset strap that acts as a USB hub for storage and power! That would be awesome, but maybe a little heavy
Which quest 3 you prefer 128gb or the 512gb?
I think if you manage your storage well, 128GB is sufficient. What do you think?
@@husondiy how many aa games will fit i mean good quality grafic games on 128gb?
The OS takes up a fair chunk, so you're closer to 100GB from the get go.
Q3 AAA titles can chew up 30GB+. If you want to record your gameplay, you could end up crying for space pretty quickly. Mainly because people forget about some games use caching.
There's plenty of people on Reddit wishing they'd bought the 512GB.
@@RetroBoxRoom make sense thx
Like and abo thx
I really need one for watch on pc and console, because why , I have a son that watch the TV and I would like to try on my quest 3 ❤ if I the choose one. I keep watching your awesome videos
I've got a Hagibis card, Macbook and Switch work flawlessly, but I can't get PS5 to. I can hear the audio, but I just get a black screen in the Quest 3 for it. Any advice would be really helpful.
Hi!! You need to disable HDCP in the HDMI settings on the PS5. That'll sort it out 👍🏻
Did the advice work?
Im considering getting it for my ps5 as well
Have you tried the hagibis capture card and see how it fairs in terms of gaming? Any lags?
I've tried it mainly with the PS5 and it's been really really good. FPS seems solid and latency / lag levels are no issue
Which capture card do you recommend?
It has to be the Hagibis 👍🏻
@@husondiy cool thank you, I will buy that one
im hoping to win one for my son hes obsessed with his quest and i know he would love it
I connected a Google TV chromecast to this card and attached a 20 000 mAh 60w power bank to back of the Q3. It powers both the Chromecast and the Q3 thru this card. A couple pieces of velcro and a 5 inch Usb-c to Usb-c , along with a U shaped adapter to the card to run the 5' usb-c cable to the battery really streamlined it.
Love it!!!
You’ll never know how much I needed this comment
Got one coming today cant wait to try with a PS5
Yes!!! Great stuff. Let us know how you get on with it
@@husondiy works perfectly with PS5 😁
@@mpenny2008Hi, can you please tell me if the latency is too high for an online shooter? Also, is it 1080/60fps?
@@Amber_Square no latency at it's hard wired so basically a monitor. And yes 1080 / 60fps.
@@mpenny2008 insane! Thank you
Dang it. I got the ugreen one, it only powers my steam deck and not my Q3
I find that I like the ugreen to power my steam deck and use another dongle with USB power and Usb for the capture card to charge the quest. I spent so much time playing comfortably that both batteries die out of both aren't charging while I play.
I will be joining awesome
Awesome great giveaway
Great video, liked and subscribed, of course. Have you done the giveaway yet? If not, I would like to win one to use with my Quest 2. Apart from the big price difference, is there any other reason you recommend this one over the j5create Video Capture Card (JVA01) that you reviewed previously? Given that the Hagibis has no HDMI pass-through.
Hi! The Hagibis can give you 60fps. So that and the price are the reasons I would say 👍🏻
👍 Many thanks!
i am subbed and liked so i will enter giveaway nice vids btw
Appreciated excelent cool
would love to win as im currently recovering from serious heart problems and spend a lot of time on sofa...great video as usual..
Bruh..
I have the same capture card....
After that all you need is a HDMI to usb-c cable..
All that other stuff is totally unnecessary 😂
What cable are you using exactly?
I'm probably way late here, but I'd love to have one of these for the Steam Deck (and Samsung Dex). Looks like a stellar product.
You're not too late!! Entry received
@@husondiy And sorry if it seems I was being pedant. Thats because I realy dont like people misleading others to buy useless gadgets just to gain comissions. Thats it. Peace. ✌
Also @husondiy the Amazon link you provided for the device is not the one your describing here, it doesn't come with a PD charging port, their ad is very misleading.
Hi!! Thanks for this. But I just checked the link and it takes me to the product but it's not available to purchase. Are you UK based?
