Was thinking about my game a week or two ago, Jimmy, and recalled way back in the day when I first tried golf, I went to KMart and the beginner set included a Driver, 3i, 5i, 7i, 9i and PW. With exception of a SW, I reduced my bag to this bc I'm not accurate enough for all the other clubs and the ones I carry, I CAN hit. Love the content, the attire and the occasional stogie. Thank you!

I have to say, between this video and the "take 8-10 stroke off your game" video, I've shot the best round I've ever shot at my local club. I usually shoot between an 88 and 95, and today, while taking shorter shots and taking OB out of the game (played with the same ball the whole round), I shot an 82. My local course is a par 70. Thanks, Jimmy. awesome videos!

After watching this video, I cleared out all the other RUclips golf videos I'd been saving in the Favorites folder. KISS from now on! It's freezing cold here in the Northeast, courses are closed, and I'm dying to get out to the range and work these techniques that Jimmy is giving us. The only question I have is about the ball placement. Putting it back in my stance seems so counterintuitive. I'm afraid to top the ball because I'm not making contact at the bottom of my swing. Thoughts?

    • @TropicanaEntertainment

Always back of the stance. You have to hit DOWN on the ball in order to compress it.

What kind of drill would you recommend doing to make sure the club doesnt come over the top on the backswing when doing the full swing? from a down the line view, my club head gets in front of my hands on the backswing. this happens even when just bringing the club to my waist seems like. ove your style! Question on this video you discuss keeping head still, placing ball to the right of center of your stance. swing to waist during back swing and keeping upper arms on your chest ( my words) during swing ( obviously not during follow thru). Then I watched "new year new swing video and you discussed all the above except for the upper arms resting on the chest during swing. It also appeared in the new year video that you didn't do that either. Was that ommision on purpose? Can't go out and try it we just got 6 inches of snow in Connecticut. Thanks.

Teeing off at 8 this morning ....a former 3 handicap...my best advice is to enjoy the game ....and realize it just that .....a game .....my best friend and i were playing about 4 years ago now and at the time his son was in high school and a very talented golfer .....so for his practice ......we would literally go at it on Saturdays like we were in a major .....and had some knock down drag out matches ....untill.....one Saturday we were battling it out ....match was very close ....and serious .....every little shot thay didnt go as planned ....even if the result was realistically an ok shot ....but not lets say perfectly as planned ....which ever one of us hit it ....we would just be torn ...mad cussing even ...after about an hour of this ....on the approach shot on the 8th hole ....my friends son came up 10 yards short on his second in on a long par 5 ...and yes ....was mad ...tore up ....and i follwed with a wide right missing gren by 2 yards .....both good shots but not what we wanted ....both of us showed are ass for a min....when my best friend who was playing with us as well says to us both ....." i am not coming back with you two anymore ...." " I am going to shoot 90 plus today "...."You both are going to be in the low to mid 70s...." " and both of you ...stay mad as hell all day anymore " ....."and thats not any fun for me , and thats why I play" .....I looked at my best friend and said.....you know what ....your rite ....and i apologize.....from now on i promise ....this will never happen again ....now i dont get to play as much anymore as i did at that time ...still once or twice a week ...and i am probably at least 10 strokes worse than then .....but my fun level is off the charts .....i also had a health scare ....and at 46 i thoughy i would never be able to play again ...and i truly love the game .....it was heartbreaking ....thankfully god blessed me and i did manage to get back to the game ....and i had a whole new outlook on life and the game ....and i promise you this today when i tee off in couple hours ....i will only have one swing thought ....one thought really at all ....how blessed i am to be here ...how beautiful this day ....and to enjoy myself ....take it all in ....good ....or not so good ....because honestly....there are no bad shots ....they are some better than others ....but all of them actually are great shots ....simply because we are able to take them .....some people would literally love to just even be able to go play ....so i want you to know Jimmy ....I Love your approach...attitude ...and vlogs ....keep it up ....and your old school vintage swagger ....top notch

I think the reason most of us reach for the driver is because we can't hit a 180 yard seven iron. But... the course management, I like it. I remember a few rounds where we sky the driver, topped it, and STILL parred the hole. We alway used to joke " the drive is immaterial"...🙂

Three very important points about making consistent shots….so well explained Jimmy. How does wrist cock work in your backswing? Do you just have oily wrists and let it happen or is it manufactured?
Keep this kind of content going and maybe you’d consider a 3-part series on pitching, chipping and putting.

That’s was great. No razzle dazzle, just a simplified, sensible, nonnegotiable, routine.

We dont wave to the camera anymore Jimmy or is this earlier for the wave? 😊.
Love your videos and you're all i watch now. Great videos.
I played Menifee Lake and it took names n kicked my ass. I got in my head and rhe ego showed up pullimg out that driver like everyone else trying to thread it to a small patch of grass. It worked some long holes.
Hopefully this Cali rain lets up so i can get out there n apply this.

Whenever people ask me how to hit it farther, I tell them to try to hit it better.

So Jimmy, we’re no longer waving hi to the camera, move hips forward and sweeping the ground? 😮

It is all the same, but my goal is to break it down to as minimal thoughts as possible. If you do this correctly, your right hand will still wave to the camera and you will sweep the ground but just keep your head down

Why do you not play with fairway woods or hybrids? All I see in ur bag is a driver, irons, and a putter.

My feels: take it back way way inside to knee level, don’t cock wrists (they do anyway), extend bowed right butt of right hand to 11 on clock with impact at 3 on clock (avoids hook release)

It entirely changes the concept when you have to go past your waist and he is on every single shot so physically you cannot do what he’s telling you to do. Doesn’t matter if he’s telling you it’s only I feel course it’s only I feel but the reality physically he hast to go up higher and that’s where most golfers get screwed up.

You nipped the tree on your second hole drive. With my luck, the ball would have dropped straight down. Think you'd be better off hitting a 5 wood at least.

I like this guy I watch all his videos. He has great points I strongly suggest ravage golfer, watch it, but the reality of it is, he’s physically not doing what he’s saying when he starts stopping at his waist and goes to the ball and plays around like that then I’ll pay attention.

Thats why I said over 10x. Feel is not real. Feel like you’re swinging to your waist. The rest will happen on its own.
