- The presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden did not meet media expectations. This is somewhat surprising given Joe Biden's decline, but many pundits thought he would do better. Democrats are freaking out now that the American people as a whole got to see Biden's mental constraints on the national stage. Donald Trump outperformed Biden, but what does this mean? Was this a ploy by Democrats who want to replace Biden at the convention? What about Trump's answers on abortion. Should they concern anti-abortion voters? Jon talks about all this and more.

Hospice Nurse Jill is a disgrace!
We had 1 hospital birth.
It was a disaster.
Next we did a Birth Center with midwives.
MUCH better !
(At less than half the cost - $3100 vs $7000 !)
With that confidence of using midwives established, next 3 births were at home with midwives who travel.
Best experience ever !
(At the same reasonsble cost)

Our standard non-snarky reply to the skeptics was always:
Do you realize modern hospitals & births therein are only a recent 100 year development ?
For 6,000 years of recorded verified history - the prior 5,900 years, virtually 98% of births were "home births" ?
The relationship between Biden and almost the entire media apparatus reminds one of "Weekend at Bernie's."
Oh my goodness. That is the most astute and clear comparison I've ever heard in my life.

MSM and WH had the non-political American thinking his freezes, states, mumbling, and shuffling were "cheap fakes." Even this morning people were commenting on a non-political doctor's video that it was reflective of his stuttering. People are so gullible!!!
@@solideomusical it seems like Dems really didn't pay attention or care. Joe's nickname has been "sleepy Joe" for years for a reason! The denial from Democrats is astounding. It's hard to believe they really thought he was in his right mind the past several years. He clearly has dementia and Jill/Biden family should be ashamed of themselves.

It is reported today that 48 million watched the debate. The most of any CNN broadcast in history. Who is not interested?
I guess the question I have is, did they watch to see a spectacle or because they cared about issues and who would win the presidency? Idk if there’s any polling on that.
Also, I almost laughed at the most of any “CNN” broadcast. lol
Me. Why would I watch that doddering, impaired, and wicked man in the White House blabbering and stumbling his way around a fake "debate"?

Jon,I humbly suggest you watch the first 45minutes of the debate. That’s where Biden was the weakest. Downright feeble.

@@ConversationsThatMatterpodcast I, too, recommend you watch. He stared blankly and even mouth breathed like a child. It was disturbing. By 45 minutes in, his drugs had kicked in and he wasn't quite as shocking. Also, he shuffled onto the stage like a weak old man.

We've had 6 home births. It is so much better than the hospital, by far!

We had our first 2 kids at the midwife's office, 3rd at our house with the same midwife. Each birth experience was good, but the home birth was the most comfortable. I highly recommend it!

We did 4 hospital births and 1 home birth w/midwife. The home birth was, by far, the best experience.
Since murder is a state crime, not a Federal crime, and since abortion is murder, leaving the matter to the states is the better policy. The best thing Christians can do to be against abortion is, when possible, have lots of kids.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Good for you choosing a home birth! Nine of our ten( yes, ten!) children were born naturally at home with the assistance of a wonderful midwife. Home births were practically unheard of back when we started in the ninety's. People literally thought we were crazy and unresponsible.
Congratulations to you and your family! I'm 6 months pregnant and am fortunate enough that the hospital I'm going to give birth at has a state-of-the-art birth center with midwives and a very natural birth experience. Of course OBs are employed and called in if needed, but I will be able to have the option to not be on my back for labor as well as have aromatherapy, a tub, natural pain relief, etc. It's nice to see that more hospitals are opening birth centers that cater to a more holistic birth rather than an overly medical/pathologized birth.
You must have in-group preference to survive.
Glad you had a good experience! Personally there is no way I would ever trust myself to do that. My wife and I have had enough complications at the hospital let alone if we were trying to do it at home.
What you have described as the real America does still exist...in the deep South.

Actually, I don't think Trump could have done better. Sure, some positions were not what i would hold (esp. re: abortion pill), but the best Trump showed up. He was calm, collected, and didn't get sucked into petty banter (okay, the golf thing was close but he bailed out of that before it devolved too far.)

The debate was very hard to watch.
First thought about age: I was surprised at how old Jake Tapper looked. I’m not sure that I’d seen him since he went to CNN in 2012. Then I saw the president, and I saw him in the past week. He was not ready for his close-up. Yet he seemed to be less-heavily medicated than he was for the State of the Union-which is not to say that that helped him at all.
Permanent Democrat majorities in both Houses could also lead to a packing of the Supreme Court.
It is heartbreaking to imagine what the Biden family must be like. Dr. Jill’s rally for Joe after the debate was embarrassing! How can his family not want to protect him?

Back to your home birth…CONGRATULATIONS 🎉. For non-complicated low-normal risk pregnancies with appropriate support (competent midwife and supportive medical community) this is an amazing way to bring your baby into the world! I am a labor & delivery RN for 30 years now. I am saddened over the state of our (USA) healthcare system and how we have made pregnancy a disease! It is not a disease. Having said that, the litigation system is just as bad! In communities where outside of hospital births are not supported by the medical community, the risk of a bad outcome and subsequent litigation when these situations turn bad and now an at-risk mom and unborn baby show up in your unit expecting the hospital staff and physicians to “fix” it without any knowledge or information of the course of pregnancy is stressful for all. It is sad we all can’t work together, advocate for one another and improve the morbidity and mortality rates for mommas and babies in this country (USA is near the bottom of the list worldwide in this area). Again congratulations!!
