I started using Soundpaint today: so far, so good. It's obvious you thought about it, scrapped ideas, thought again, and just kept iterating until you arrived at what I see as maybe the simplest design that still allows you to do complicated things... while it will also let you and others add lots of customizable instruments easily.
Hi, great tutorial! however, it seems that you have many more instruments than are currently available... are these indicative of the instruments that will be released soon?
Loving Soundpaint so far. The dynamic velocity layers really make a difference in nuanced playing. Is aftertouch on the development menu? I don't use it a lot, but I like the idea of being able to play with filters, LFOs, etc without lifting the ol' fingers from the keys.
What would be amazing was if a random play was added to the arp. You could create your arp and then set it running - the "randomiser" would select notes within the arp at random enabling you to build up a generative sequence.
Not sure if I understand the usage of Rack A/Rack B. I've experimented a bit and saw for eg that ADSR is carried over between the racks. I'd like to see a bit more explanation of A/B usage in general though
Good question. Rack A and B are identical. B just offers an additional set of slots for more advanced programming. For example we just updated the engine to have 8 LFOS - instead of 4. Rack B might be a good place to experiment with such things and keep main controls in Rack A. But the two are identical, so you can decide exactly what layout works for you.
I noticed that in a couple of the presets, when I touch the pitch wheel, the pitch of the sample jumps to higher note. Seems that there's something being modified by the pitchbend but I cant figure out what parameter is being modified.
@@Soundpaintmusic This wasn't a pitch bend value setting - the preset in question is elluding me at present sorry. What happened was that if I played and held the note, the pitch stayed the same. The second I gently touched the pitchbend wheel, the pitch of the sample would move up a whole tone - even after letting go of the pitchbend wheel. It was an instant pitch jump as if there was a CC switch applied to the global pitch control. I tried to check all the assigned modulations after clicking on the Matrix tab, but there were no parameters involving pitch assigned to the pitchbend wheel or any LFO's etc.
I'd like to ask here because there's no where else to, but I ran up a few "issues": - in the offset rack, I wonder why I can't turn on reverse on hybrid emotions parts (not programs). Also, i would like to be able to automate the offset parameter to a random lfo, not only the detail. (for an arpeggiated patch). Is there a particular reason why only the detail parameter can be automated ? Or am i overlooking something ? For the rest I really like working in soundpaint. It's intuitive and feels very modular.
That last example of the piano morphing into the voice sold me. Great blend of sound design and playability.. So much potential in this engine.
Thank you Soundpaint for all these free tutorial /SP masterclass.
Glad you like them!
What a superb instrument and collection
This engine is fire. And it's free! So awesome.
Thx Mattias! Hope you make sonic fire with it too!
Great presentation. Thank you.
Thank you for your excellent tutorial videos! You've created a really wonderful synth!

I just got this downloaded on my mac into my reaper daw and I love it
Thanks Dave! It’s our joy to inspire!
Fantastic!

How do you dry up a premade up sound ? Please? In the rack ? Great sounds wew!

Simplicity- I like it
I’m loving the interface. Kontakt 7 is going to have to step it up to compete with SP.

We have random mode in the arp 🎲🎲
will we get soundmode "one note stretch pitch shifted / time stretched"?
It is coming. No ETA.
@@Soundpaintmusic yes! :-)
Wait, what! 13:07
There's also an option to get a Doctor's Degree?
😅 Well we'll see (or hear) about that!

@@Soundpaintmusic Thank you : )
I'm really enjoying this software and looking forward to seeing what libraries will be added in the future.

Hmmmm … tell us more … you can set the pitch value of your pitch bender by opening Rack > Touch module

can sound paint allow all 8Dio plugin instruments in my collection to work with Soundpaint? I notice you have Barbary inside S.P.
What do TM and TF mean after part names?
TF is Troels Folmann
TM is another person who worked on those sounds / patches... Troels mentions his / her name in at least one of the videos.
@@davidmcnamara7928 I think that would be Tarek Mansura
