We sure could use a John Denver today. The care and compassion he shows is infectious.

I wish I could reach those high notes.
People don’t realize how genetically lucky this guy was. Incredible genetics in his vocal chords.

Just think of the richness of the music produced from the sixties through the seventies, eighties..the sheer number of artists and songs.....

Love this grizzly bear song. How fun to see him being silly . These rare songs are amazing. I've loved JD and his music since I was in high school in the 70's. I still have my record albums. To find all these unreleased songs and songs I didn't know he had ever sung is like finding a treasure chest beneath the sea. I mean, "When I'm 64"! And "Here, There, and Everywhere"!! Awesome! Or should I say, "Far Out"! :) Whoever you are who has shared these with us, thank you from the bottom of my heart. My heart broke when John Denver died. But these songs bring a big smile to my face. Now I need to go out a buy me a stuffed grizzly bear!! :) Thank you!

Perfection. I moved every single year as a child from age 6 to 19. My father was a type A rage aholic. I heard this song at age 13 when it sunk in. Words were put to my unspoken feelings from when i was a child. It changed my life from the first time it caressed my soul.

He was a HUGE part of the music scene in my youth in the 70s. Before country music was seperated from pop, and rock. You could listen to the radio and all would be on the same station.

Azure-Sparrow - Well, his music lives on. I had a crush on him as a very young girl. This upset my mom, who HATED “folk/country” singers. She would sneer “John Denver isn’t even his real name.” She loved to harsh my mellow on folk singers. Anyway... he was neighbors with my dad’s cousin so long ago. I heard him perform live. My husband’s uncle was a good friend of his, and was one the guys he played golf with on his last day on this earth. How weird how we humans are all connected in some bizarre ways.

John was really loose winging that precious Guild Jumbo in his sprint across the field, I was cringing thinking he might stumble and crack one of his signature guitars. That year was John at his artistic apex.

OMG. I would LOVE to own either model Guild (12 or the 6 string) JD played. Guild, back then, was a force to be reckoned with as a luthier company. JD has many guitars "commissioned" to be made for him, one luthier who is retired now - John Greven - made a 6 string "White Lady" used extensively in the studio and in live performances by Denver. This 6 string "White Lady" was accompanied by a 12-string version which is enshrined in a glass case at the Denver International Airport. Another gorgeous guitar was a 6 string built in the Yamaha Guitar Custom Shop in Hamamatsu Japan designed by Terumi Nakamoto for Denver.

I would love to hear the words Mama Cass said being echoed by artists today, especially the part "It's not as important who you vote for as you vote in who you believe in.". Very poignant words.
