Very informative video, thank you. Were you able to get the corner brackets and roof rub worked out?
I did. There is plenty of adjustment for the rack. I just raised it up slightly to clear the soft cap and that was it. It took about an hour of trial and error. Thanks for watching.
thanks for sharing the video; I am looking at the Bestop for my 2023 Nissan frontier pro 4x along with this rack. what height did you choose to clear the bestop in order to make it work. In addition, how are you enjoying both products would you still recommend the bestop and xtr1?
Yes I would recommend both products. The quality of the fabric best top uses is excellent and the frame they have is very strong. And the rack… well it’s just plain cool. I use it to carry a gazelle T4 tent opposite a roam case on the top. I have quick fists on one side for an ace and a shovel. I’ve got a bottle opener on the back for the end of the day. And on the other side I’ve got mounts for water and fuel. I’ve still got room on the rack for an awning, still haven’t decided what to get for that yet.
With regards to height I think I did 24 inches. It clears but it’s snug. That’s what I wanted. The folks at xtrusion are very helpful and would be able to give a good answer if you are not completely sure.
Is this the bed length rack option? Great video looking to do same
It’s the standard length it’s slightly shorter than the bed. But not by much. It’s a very robust rack I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Hi thanks for the Video . I have a softopper And the xtrusion rack waiting for my Maverick to come in . I just wanted to confirm it does come with instructions ? It did take 8 weeks to come ,but the Maverick will be 17 months .Thanks
I think the instructions were available on the website for download as a pdf. I haven’t looked since I installed it. So they may do something different now. Thanks for watching the video.
Hello. You look really good.
What is the size of the aluminum rod shown in the picture?
Is it 3cm x 9cm? Or is it a different size? I'm curious.
It is the 15 series extruded aluminum.
how this combo at this point? any changes you made?
Do you need the OEM rail system to install? What height did you use on the rack?
No, I do not have the factory rail system. They have mounts that clamp to the bed. I have a homemade rail system (unistrut) and the mounts for the factory system worked with that. I ordered the 25 inch height for comparability with the bestop soft cap. Thanks for checking out the video hope it was helpful.
Do you have the Bestop 2? I heard it's a little wider in the front. Will the rack work with the 2? Thanks again.
Yes I have the bestop 2. It clears with no issues from a width standpoint. Height wise it’s very snug but there is enough adjustment in the rack to clear everything just fine. I’ve been happy with the rack and top. Keeps dust out. I’ve still got a very very small amount of water intrusion around rack mounts. I just haven’t had time to get everything sealed up fully. But overall the system works very well.
Thanks. I just got my besttop installed and like it so far and excited to get this rack. Thanks for the input much appreciated.
Hey you sold the jeep did you let the bed rack go with it ?
Sorry I did. That deal happened pretty quickly and I didn’t have time to get the rack off.
Can you close and open the soft topper with the rack on?
Same question i have, would be curious to know the answer
from the rear yeas easily. form the side you could but it is not easy due tot he rack. If you put in the swing out sides on the rack it would be easy to do.
how long did it take you to receive your rack?
like 8 weeks total?
Yeah. By the time I got everything it was about 8 weeks.
And did you make it out to RITO ?
I did. Friday was rainy and colder than I had planned for. I had to go get an awning. Ordered a roof rack when I got home to be able to attach my awning should be here in a week or two. Video to come.
Sorry I missed you.
hey no worries, ya there was nothing on the weather about the rain so I wasn't prepared for it either. I just posted the first video of two of my trip to RITO. Check it out if you get a chance

Ok so I think I’m now regretting my decision on my purchase of the XTR1 for my truck. There was absolutely no mention of a back order of parts when I made my order. I’ve called, was told that their picking up parts later that day and will ship it right out, that was a week a half ago. I’ve e-mailed and got no reply at all from customer service. I called again and spoke to others that said they will find out when it will be shipped out and text me back, but days have gone by and no text. My order was placed over a month ago now, cancelled a planned trip as well. I hate to keep bugging them. I do understand that I’m not the only customer, but if you say you’re going to do something then do it. Get back to the customers that have paid you and let them know what is going on with their order.
I’m sorry to hear about that. As I said in the video I thought the shipping was a little weird as I got all the parts Ofer a couple of weeks. It took about 6 weeks or so to get all the parts. I think I may have emailed them once and got a quick response. These guys are cool dudes, I’ve met them. I’m really sorry that you’re having a bad experience. I wish I could help but I have zero affiliation with them or their company. I am a only a customer. Thanks for checking out our channel.
Their lead time is horrendous. Their customer service did the same thing to me. They eventually were responsive and got my issues resolved but it’s almost been 3 months since over ordered the first one and had to make changes and my rack got here today.
@Seth Kite hey Seth. Addressing your issue here. Yes. Our lead times are horrendous. This market is horrendous, pricing on materials is horrendous but we see it stabilizing now. The issue with smaller start up companies is restricted cash flow for larger inventory purchases required to curve raw material orders, forcing us to do smaller orders. Then all orders are "custom" cut to the specifications ordered. On top of that, we had issues with customer service response. We hired additional people and are getting better at it. Customer service has been priority 1 since we started. Unfortunately issues, delays and mistakes do happen especially when we are growing and with new processes, trained personnel etc. But hey at least we keep things made in the USA unless the Amazon world! Hopefully we got you squared away, if not reach out!
@@alanreyesfable Alan, thanks for the reply. Trust me, I understand. I help operate a business in the middle of the mountains. Recourses are scarce and demand is high. I don’t want to put any additional work or pressure on the already unpredictable state of the market for you guys. I know at this point it’s worth the wait and I need to respect that people are doing their best. I sent an email late last night actually trying to finalize the process. No rush at all. Thanks for putting in the effort to create a great product and communicate more. Best of luck.
