  • In this video we replace an UpTop Overland bed rack with an XtrusionOverland Bedrack that is Taller, Beefier and a lot more modular. The owners of the company walk us through the install step by step.
    These racks can be customized with slide outs and access gates so you don't lose access to your bed from the side towards the cab of the truck.

    Wow-so clean and solid. Appreciate the build guidance, which will help me soon as I'm looking to get one for my 2023 Tundra. Any recommendations on what set up to get? A little confusing...XTR1, Xtr3, etc. Thx!

    You guys should sell this stuff for the truck bed inserts to haul plywood. That would be way better than using 2x6 across for support. I haven’t seen anything like it on the market. 🍻

    Is it possible to order different size uprights to be able to change set ups for like winter and summer? Winter eventually I’d like to be able to run a softopper but summer I’d want to drop it lower with a tent on top

    • @The_dark_yota
      @The_dark_yota  Год назад +3

      Yes you can order whatever height uprights you want and can swap them out when you want to. You’d just have to switch the feet and uprights I believe. We’d have to double check to make sure the cross bars aren’t different for a different angle on the soft toppers. I would Email them and ask. Either way though promo code Thedarkyota saves you 10%

    How much space does Todd have between the top of his decked to the top of the bed rack? Trying to get measurements to see what size fridge/cooler I can fit.

    • @The_dark_yota

      It’s about 19” from the decked to rack. Should be the same as mine

    Should i get the 21 inch or the 22 inch height rack for my Tacoma? I want my tent to be as low to the cab roof as possible and I don't have a roof rack.

    • @The_dark_yota
      @The_dark_yota  9 месяцев назад +1

      Measure from the bed sides to the tallest point of your roof then add 2” for bed flex. Also depends on what tent you have. Send me an email to josh@thedarkyota.com and I’ll help you configure it and get you the best pricing.

    Just installed mine but confused in regards to the plates that slide into truck bed rails. The instruction from the video says to have the flat part closer to the truck bed. How did you make it work with the bolts closest to the cab and closest to the rear of your truck? The plate sits where the bolt should screw back in to the rail. Did you just not screw those bolts back in?

    • @The_dark_yota
      @The_dark_yota  Год назад +1

      I have the extended rack. You’ll want to move the rack either forwards or backwards to be able to put that bolt back in I believe. I didn’t have that issue

    Ok so I think I’m now regretting my decision on my purchase of the XTR1 for my truck. There was absolutely no mention of a back order of parts when I made my order. I’ve called, was told that their picking up parts later that day and will ship it right out, that was a week a half ago. I’ve e-mailed and got no reply at all from customer service. I called again and spoke to others that said they will find out when it will be shipped out and text me back, but days have gone by and no text. My order was placed over a month ago now, cancelled a planned trip as well. I hate to keep bugging them. I do understand that I’m not the only customer, but if you say you’re going to do something then do it. Get back to the customers that have paid you and let them know what is going on with their order.

      You don’t need to blast my videos with your comments. I said I’d try help you even though I don’t work with them. One bad experience doesn’t define a company or the quality of their product. Communication could be better but lead times and changes are part of building a rig.

    • @XtrusionOverland
      @XtrusionOverland Год назад +2

      Hey! Sorry for the communication issues. Our guys are on top of things normally but things might fall through the cracks in some instances. We weren't able to correlate your order with your RUclips handle. Go ahead and shoot us an email with the details. Also we do have on the confirmation email the lead times on the rack order! Remember that Xtrusion is a custom bed rack that can also be customized over time or changed to a different platform. It is unique in many ways and totally worth the wait. We definitely do not recommend planning a trip around delivery times however, as all supplies are still a circus. Shoot us an email and we'll get back to you.

      @@XtrusionOverland I do understand about the planning of our trip and it was our fault, just would’ve been nice. I have emailed the company in the past to find out about my order and it took 11 days to get a reply. I was told it was the top brackets that you were waiting for and now I’m told it’s the bottom brackets that’s holding up the order.
