- Army Reservists from across the 2nd (Australian) Division undertook a Direct Fire Support Weapons course in the Singleton Military Area during September 2023. Soldiers received training on Heavy Machine Guns, the 84mm Medium Direct Fire Support Weapon and Javelin Weapon System. The course supported the Land Combat Capability Review and aided in developing a new capability across the Division.

Beast
They look like they’re having fun
Brilliant! About time!
nice barrel change
Indirect fire?
Once a barrel has cooled down, can it be reused?
Yes.
Its gets recycled and the tax payer buys a new one
@@Taiko-THC349 Thanks!
@@clacicleNo problem. The barrels get swapped out because the weapon is carrying out sustained firing.
@@kempaku982 How often would barrels be changed in a combat environment such as Iraq, Afghanistan, or Ukraine compared to training?
So I take it Reserves didn’t have 7.62 machine guns before now ?
They did. But now they are building it up into a multi weapon, anti tank capability.
Mag58 is heavy weapons? I thought maybe we had artillery again
